I've been coming here a long, long time. The best memories for me are breakfasts. In the past,…read moresometimes at 2, 3 or 4 in the morning. When it's lunchtime, it's always one of the hot sandwiches from my childhood....hot turkey, beef, or meatloaf on bread, usually with fries and gravy over everything. The thing I always liked was that the turkey was always real.....as in real sliced turkey. I was there last week for a late lunch, early dinner and I saw that one of the specials was a turkey dinner. That was all I had to see. I chose a salad as my side. That was my first big mistake. When I told my friends, they all said. Ewwww, you should NEVER order a salad there and I found out for myself, why. The lettuce was all brown edged, looked over chilled and somewhat mushy with two sliced of cucumber. The cucumber was fresh which made the lettuce look even worse. Then came the entree. All I saw was a sea of gravy, which is fine. I started to get into the meal and went for the dressing/stuffing. It was a gray/beige color, very wet and it looked like someone put bread in water and wrang it out by squeezing their hand. The fries were fries. No problem there. Then I saw it. The turkey was round, all the same thickness and all the same shape. I crashed big time. Decades of my life were slapped in the face and I felt betrayed. When the server came to the table she asked, "Aren't you hungry?" I said, "Uhh not really." And she replied, "I understand." I'm hesitant to go back, even for breakfast and especially not for a hot turkey sandwich. If I saw round turkey on that, I don't know what I'd do! So, if you're looking for breakfast...fine. Anything else....you're on your own. Thanks for the memories, at least.

Pancakes (which our lovely waitress added complimentary bananas to), hot sausage, bacon, home fries, eggs, and Italian bread toast. Everything was cooked perfectly! Hot sausage and eggs made a perfect sandwich on that bread! My wife had a delicious omelette. Such a wonderful send off from Pittsburgh!

The only downside, which this restaurant can't really control, is that parking is a pain and is expensive. But that's just a nature of the way the Strip District has grown. The bar is located in a strip of stores along Old Clairton Road, just off of route 51. There is some parking in the front that is shared with all the other businesses, and then a parking lot across Old Clairton that gets used at night when the businesses that it is for are closed. Additionally, there is a private lot for the bar in the back, and parking at the Bill Green Shopping Center just a little ways down the road (sidewalks from Bill Green to the bar entrance). Due to a fire that occurred here a few years ago, the entire place has recently been remodeled and reoriented from how it was originally. The bar is now in the back, and the main dining room is in the front. There is also a great patio and outdoor space with open air seating, as well as some area under a porch. Everything is new, clean, and modern as a result of the remodel. On this visit, we came to hang out on a Saturday evening. It was raining, so we had to get a table inside. It was karaoke night, as they have each Saturday, so we got to take in the sights and sounds of several performers. Since we were there later in the evening, we just ordered appetizers to much on along with our drinks. I got the Fiesta Street Corn Dip. It was a great value for the price, and there was a ton to go around the whole table. I also sipped on a Summer Shandy from their seasonal draft list. Overall, the food menu has a decent selection, all at very reasonable prices. The draft list did not have any red or brown ales on it, but there was still a fair selection of drinks. The ladies who came around to our table were pleasant and helpful. It was rather crowded, but there would be times we would not see a server for extended periods of time. I do not think it helped that our table was tucked back in a corner, but wish we would have been visited on a somewhat more frequent basis to put additional orders in. I always have a good time at the P-Bar, and enjoy coming here. Especially in the summer, it is an ideal place to hang out and catch up with friends. And likely, if you are from the area, you will run into several people you know. I did not have their breakfast this time, but the breakfast they have on the weekends is worth a try as well!
