The P-Bar is my hometown bar, and I have been coming here for longer than I can remember. My friends and I would come in high school on Thursdays for $1 Burger Nights (no longer around, RIP), and now we come to enjoy some drinks on the patio and hang out. The bar is located in a strip of stores along Old Clairton Road, just off of route 51. There is some parking in the front that is shared with all the other businesses, and then a parking lot across Old Clairton that gets used at night when the businesses that it is for are closed. Additionally, there is a private lot for the bar in the back, and parking at the Bill Green Shopping Center just a little ways down the road (sidewalks from Bill Green to the bar entrance). Due to a fire that occurred here a few years ago, the entire place has recently been remodeled and reoriented from how it was originally. The bar is now in the back, and the main dining room is in the front. There is also a great patio and outdoor space with open air seating, as well as some area under a porch. Everything is new, clean, and modern as a result of the remodel. On this visit, we came to hang out on a Saturday evening. It was raining, so we had to get a table inside. It was karaoke night, as they have each Saturday, so we got to take in the sights and sounds of several performers. Since we were there later in the evening, we just ordered appetizers to much on along with our drinks. I got the Fiesta Street Corn Dip. It was a great value for the price, and there was a ton to go around the whole table. I also sipped on a Summer Shandy from their seasonal draft list. Overall, the food menu has a decent selection, all at very reasonable prices. The draft list did not have any red or brown ales on it, but there was still a fair selection of drinks. The ladies who came around to our table were pleasant and helpful. It was rather crowded, but there would be times we would not see a server for extended periods of time. I do not think it helped that our table was tucked back in a corner, but wish we would have been visited on a somewhat more frequent basis to put additional orders in. I always have a good time at the P-Bar, and enjoy coming here. Especially in the summer, it is an ideal place to hang out and catch up with friends. And likely, if you are from the area, you will run into several people you know. I did not have their breakfast this time, but the breakfast they have on the weekends is worth a try as well! read more

If you are looking for a good place to eat and have a drink with some friends or family this is a great spot! I did visit towards the evening and it was a bit loud, but it is a bar lol. Not sure how the afternoons are but I will have to try it out. The food was awesome! The onion rings were some of the best around. If you are looking for somewhere close to home but not a chain I would definitely give the P Bar a try. read more

If you've been to P Bar in the past, you wouldn't even recognize it now, since the remodel! It's beautiful, with plenty of seating indoors, as well as ample space outside, too. You'd think with the reno, prices would go up, but we couldn't believe how affordable brunch was. I had the egg sandwich and my friend had one of the omelettes. Both were served with delicious potatoes and large portions for just around $6! Their Bloody Mary was pretty good, too. We'll definitely be back! read more

Everyone is nice but the menu is very uncreative for vegetarian options and I was told they fry everything from chicken to fries in the same grease. Unfortunately I cannot eat anything here, and the mix drinks were good but extremely pricey. The ambiance is very open and fresh, and the patio is a nice addition. It was nice to a new to me locally owned restaurant. I try to search out the local places versus chains. I've worked close by for 2 years and was unaware until today that this place was there. The interior looked fresh and newly remodeled and clean. It was a larger place inside than what it appeared from the exterior. The menu was somewhat basic but decent. Prices were nice as well. Our food arrived quickly and was very tasty. My sandwich was a generous size, I added coleslaw that was really good a soft drink. The bill was very affordable. I would like to try it again after work sometime to see what the beer selection is like. I will go back. read more

If you're looking for cheap great bar food with an amazing staff and a chill atmosphere look no further, sad to say I've lived within a mile of this place for 30 years and just discovered the pleasant bar this year! Highly recommend their burgers and the hot cheddar balls. They also have some great food and drink specials through out the week and for game days. Some good deals including a $1.50 burger(they don't tell you that toppings are .20 each), but it's still a great deal. Some pretty good drink specials as well. That said, this is a locals kind of place and I didn't know a soul, so it was kind of a weird experience. It wasn't bad, just not my kind of thing. When we got there I was excited because I just moved to town and the place was busy with people my age. So maybe this could be our new spot. There was no host stand so we stood on the back patio awkwardly until we could get a servers attention and she told us it was open seating. After waiting for about 20 minutes the older lady came to our table and was immediately rude then took our IDs to a machine to scan. She came back and told us one of the IDs couldn't scan so she wouldn't be serving us. This place has it ass backwards. If you're gonna scan ID's, have someone do that when customers walk in then seat them with menus. I've lived in the South Hills all my life and this was my first time at the (P. Bar). My friend and I had a very enjoyable time! My friend was craving a mint cocktail so we thought of a mojito but used tequila instead of gin! And the bartender decided to add some strawberries! We called it the Strawberry Mojitorita! It was super tasty! The pictures captured it their delicious red sangria that they have on tap! The cut up apples stirred in added a nice touch! Wings dings here are super crispy and yummy! They also remodeled recently and they did an awesome job with the place. The outdoor patio with the two Firepits are my favorite. Televisions are throughout the whole place and the servers are super cute and friendly. I can't wait to come back again soon! read more

Soon as I sat on the bar I noticed a smell.. An old passed shelf life food kind of stench.. it was coming from their kitchen. Pains me to write this, as I used to be a frequent customer. I had heard the bar was under new ownership and eagerly awaited to see the new changes. Boy was I shocked. Complete facelift - the bar is actually really nice inside. Something you'd see out of hipster Lawrenceville. It is certainly smaller than it used to be. That being said, I am extremely disappointed to have to break the news of them getting rid of their famous $1 burger night special mentioned in other reviews on here. This place was absolutely packed on these nights! It took a long time to get them, but they were worth the wait. Why not raise the price to $2 or whatever instead of getting rid of the special altogether? It just doesn't make any sense. Sadly this place is the "P Bar" in name only now. I have a feeling regulars are not going to be too pleased with the changes in the sake of saving a buck or two - which with the amount of people they drew on their burger nights I guarantee they made up for it and then some in drink sales. read more

I ordered a Rueben assuming it was a Rueben on Rye. I was sorely mistaken. It was just a semi take on a primanti sandwich. White bread with some butter The wings were expensive (7 or 8 dollars for 6). There was nothing that stood out about them, quiet boring and tasteless. The fries were okay but a little soggy. The place is very nice inside and the service is very good. I might try it again when there is actually a decent special happening. read more

We have lived in the area for years but never knew this place existed and then we found out that a lot of our neighbors have been there and really liked this place. So we wanted to donate to toys for tots and I found out that this was the closest drop off. So my husband and I decided to stop on a Friday evening to drop off the toys and have some dinner and drinks. The place was absolutely packed on a Friday evening, which is great. We waited for a little bit and got two seats at the end of the bar. Our server was very nice but we had to ask her to wipe off the bar and to give us menus. there was also some drama going on with one of the servers and either the manager or owner which seemed awkward and should not be on display in front of customers. I had the French onion soup which was not very good the cheese on top was good but it was bland and had an off taste. We also ordered the hot cheeseballs and the breaded mushrooms which were good. I had wine and my husband had rum and Coke so no complaints about the drinks. As far as our entrées I had the premium steak salad which was OK the steak was a little tough and the french fries were so cold so I did not eat them. My husband loved his steak hoagie. Simple but good. Went for breakfast the place is no frills. Had the veggie omelet with cheese and a side of bacon. No frills but the flavors, oh my!! Some of the best bacon I have ever tasted!!! The bacon alone is worth the return trip. My sister got a pancake and she said the fluffiest pancake she ever had out!!! The coffee is strong and the food is decently priced and tasty. The food was good but had a limited menu. From one who frequents bar establishments, my suggestion would be to up the menu and post the daily drink specials. The more people know the better! We stopped in to the P Bar tonight for karaoke and to have a few drinks on our way home. We had a drink and then sat for over half an hour with empty glasses while the bartenders ignored us. When we asked for our check and complained about the poor service, the new owner told us to never come back. We also witnessed the owner screaming at 2 customers who were sitting next to us. They both just looked confused. The P Bar used to be a great place, but due to the poor service and bad attitude of the owner, we can no longer recommend it.
