Hubby & I are doing this round the country road trip and stopped right outside of Pittsbutgh to get a sandwich. The place we wanted to go to was closed. A lady walking by told us to go to Dō Woodfire Pizza. We asked if they made sandwiches...Oh Yes was her response. The ambiance of this place reminds me of the sandwich shops on South Street in Philly. The sandwich is amazing (we otdered Club and Italian). It was so good we ordered two more to take with us. If there was a half star this pizza shop would get it. Once the previous owners left it became absolutely horrible. The crust is burnt and questionably edible. And toppings minimal. On a side note it is under extreme scrutiny from the health department in case you were not aware of it. read more

Do was our "go too" for pizza for years until it changed ownership. It was great pizza at a good price and the owner was responsive to the customers. Now however they have serious problems. The staff seems lost at best and the quality is hit or miss. We TRIED ordering tonight (7/31/26) and the phone was a busy signal for repeated attempts over 30 minutes until we finally gave up and ordered elsewhere. They must make big changes or they will not make it. read more

We really enjoyed our first time at dŌ, the pizza was perfectly cooked, the style is a thinner/crispier crust, and the sauce has plenty of flavor. I highly recommend this pizza. The service was also outstanding and everyone was so nice here. read more

We stopped here on a snowy Friday night before we went to a show at the Lamp Theatre. We split a large salad and it was a very big salad and they brought us separate plates so that we could share it. Our pizza we enjoyed very much as well as we were big fans of wood fire pizza, we even took two slices home with us. I believe this restaurant is BYOB. We just had soda and water. We would definitely return if we were in the area. It was crowded inside and within a half hour of us being seated people were waiting for tables. They were also busy with takeout orders. Parking is metered on the street. But we parked a couple blocks away for free and walked down. read more

Second visit here, another pre-show dinner before seeing a act at The Lamp Theater. So convenient to park here and then take a leisurely stroll after dinner to the theater. Of course they don't take reservations so we were unsure if we'd get a table , but it was not problem. I think the majority of their business is take out judging by the steady stream of people through the door. To that end, there was only one waitress on duty for the whole restaurant, but she did take care of us very well. The pizza was delicious again and my husband thought it was the best Margarita he's had lately. He noted the crust had "leopard spots" (little burnt spots) which makes it especially tasty. It's really great that they only have two prices for small or large pizzas with out extra charges for toppings. The same goes for salads. One price and you can have asa many veggies as you want! We sat in the addition that night. Kind of a sparse industrial vibe, but it's a pizza shop! As long as they keep such reasonable prices, I don't care! Dō has the ability to make some of the best pizza you will ever have, and generally when you eat in the restaurant that is what you will receive. However, more times than not when I have ordered take out, I have received a sub par product that is hugely disappointing, undercooked and sloppily thrown together. I find myself asking if there is a spoken dynamic where in-house orders should be made with care, and take out orders should just be made to get out the door with no thought of quality? I continue to hold out hope that I will order take out one of these times and receive the delicious benchmark pizza I know they are capable of producing. read more

I lived in NY for many years and they still have the best pizza. However this little place has a flare all its own that has officially won out all other places in PA for me! Even the smell of the wood burning when I walk in smells like a part of heaven! Then when you taste the wood smell in your pizza, so incredible! The salads are killer! My fiancée any I ate there last night for the first time. We were really hungry for pizza and I looked online for something local and handmade. Boy did we choose right! I honestly can say it was the best pizza I have ever had. I got the Billy Jean and added more toppings, which at no additional cost for extra toppings, I was surprised I could do that. That pizza has ricotta cheese on it and it took it to a whole new level. I actually couldn't wait to get up and have an extra slice I brought home for breakfast! The chef came out to ask us how we liked it. you can tell he truly cares about his craft and is an actual artist with his creations. Our service was outstanding as well. They truly care about making your dining out experience enjoyable. I like the vibe. We felt like we were in a beach town enjoying an evening out at a local favorite spot. No idea how the pizza is. Stopped here before a show, ordered immediately when we sat down as we only had an hour or so. Two tables next to us ordered and ate. After 30 minutes we asked what was going on and was told it was coming up. After 50 minutes we got up to leave and ask for a refund. While they were trying to figure that out, a pizza was produced. I didn't want our waitress to eat the cost or anything, so took it and left. It sat and got cold in the car while we were at the show. Pizza could be great, I'm not sure, but can say that service is terrible. read more

Had the 1972 Pizza. Amazing. The dough is delicious. Flakey crust and thin but not too thin. Great balance. Found out that special dough is make locally with some special ingredients. This is a great pizza! The variety of options and the quality of toppings are outstanding! Try the ricotta cheese yum! Regarding the dough, I found that it was very good but! They put wayyyy too much corn meal on the bottom of the pizza to reduce sticking, creating an unpleasant eating experience . This is a huge problem but an easy fix.
