I think a style developed and it got a following. Family now runs it. A well rounded pizza place is so much more to choose from. I've been around, had supposed best and lots of almost best both locally, in Italy, and New York. Plus I have made my own for over 40 years. I know dough. Be aware, this place is a small local place in a small town. It is AN idea of what pizza MIGHT be. I don't want to put the people down, they are nice and work hard. It's just there are so many decent places to choose from near Pittsburgh. If I was Dave Portnoy, it might be in the high 60s low seventies at best. Not for a knowledgeable foodie Sorry, that's my take. No offense to the locals.

I read it was under new ownership, and saw their social media posts, so we tried it again. We ordered the New York style. It was better than expected. Nice crust and good sauce. Lastly, the employees seemed nice and the dining room is very nice. Don't know if the employees were also owners, but very courteous. AND they are now open WEEKENDS! I wish them the best and will be trying the Cillian next. Good luck.

Best pizza around. I'm a transplant from inner city Pittsburgh and it's always hard to find good pizza, but Mama Pepinos was a pleasant surprise when we moved to the area. They're definitely at the top of our list and by far our number one go-to, especially when we have many mouths to feed. We score mucho points with guests who always comment on the pizzas. The staff is very nice and makes it a pleasure every time we pick up an order. Highly recommended! read more

New to the area. Ordered from Moma Pepino's to try it out. The Steak Hoagie was ok, The Onion Rings were better than average. The one thing that can sperate you from the competition is your customer service. This is something they need some work on. When I walked in to get my order I waited 5 minutes for anybody to acknowledge I was even there. I was charged more for my order because I was using a card to pay. I love their small cheese pizza, perfect for two. They have the best gyros between here and Pittsburgh. Their wings are huge. I tried their plain cheese calzone and a brownie with caramel. The calzone was quite interesting. It's probably the greasiest calzone I've had in a while, but surprisingly, it was still really good. Most of the grease had already spilled out of the calzone by the time I bit in. It's topped with a ton of garlic, so the bread part tasted like garlic bread. It was really good. Plus, the calzone was stuffed with an adequate amount of cheese (mozzarella mostly, and a little bit of ricotta as well). Quite good. Portion size was great for the small, and price was around $14 so not too bad. Sauce on the side was sweet but cold when served. The brownie was really good. It was super fudgey and had large chunks of chocolate scattered throughout it. Very soft. It's absolutely delicious and honestly one of the best brownies I've had in a while. And, it's huge! Atmosphere isn't the best, but the people are kind (they came out with my food while I was waiting in the car and were courteous).
