Beer taps
Andrew P.

If you're from out of town and you want to try something local (not a chain) then definitely give Fontana's a shot. It's off the main drag and has been around for most of the 50 years I've lived in the area. All the food is good, and the portions are healthy...you won't leave hungry. Recently had both the filet mignon burger and the Italian hoagie...both were very good. It's small. Half of it is taken up by a good sized bar, but they have a side dining rooM that seats about 30. Wait staff is all courteous and friendly. Great experience all the way around. If you've read any of my other posts, you know I'm all about the beer, and Fontana's delivers there too. Really good selection of craft beers on tap including some from truly local breweries to go along with the more well known craft breweries. If you're from the area and have never tried Fontana's, you're missing out. If you're from out of town, definitely skip Applebees and try Fontana's instead. You won't be disappointed.

Go for it!

I enjoy listening to live music. I especially enjoy listening to live music during those cold, dreary winter nights when nothing else seems to be the cure. I recently discovered that Fontana's not only serves up an array of decent food, and drinks, but they feature some fine musical talent on scheduled Friday nights. The combination of great sounds mixed with tasteful food, satisfying drinks, and a fun atmosphere certainly works for me when looking for a bonus evening with friends. I grew up in the area, and remember dining here as far back as high school, so I often encounter friends I havent seen in awhile. I really like the fact that you can carry on a decent conversation while enjoying the musical guest. The bar area gets exceptionally crowded and seating is limited but there is an adjoining dining room that is within ear shot of the music. Lots of good options for food and fun. The bartenders are a great addition to the evenings festivities. Be sure to try their seasonal sangria to get the party started.

Service outstanding. Food is very good. Always a nice time. It's a bar and a small restaurant, it's your hometown pub.

Local pub with decent Italian food. Jump in and soak up the local vibe. Music once in awhile provides more attraction to this cute pub.

First time here. Typical bar food. The cost for a sandwich was about $12 each. The service was good.

The pizza was REALLY good and so were the breadsticks. The place was really packed inside and I still got my order on time. My family shared my enthusiasm as well for the food. I can't wait to be back. Glad this is only 15 minutes from me. Jeannette needed this. Great addition to this town!

Ordered take out tonight - February 26, 2026 - for what is our favorite pizza within 30 minutes of our house due to excellent ingredients, fantastic sauce, and no skimping on toppings or quality. Well tonight was quite disappointing - it started off great as we pulled right into a parking spot out front which has the same odds as winning the Powerball. Unfortunately, that was the only win and it went directly downhill from there. Pizzas were overdone on top, with very little sauce and cheese. My wife's pie had small extremely thin slices of onions and peppers and not a lot of those. My pie had four pcs (not filets, only one half filet and 3 pcs) of anchovy total on my pizza with small pcs of peppers. The sauce was entirely different from any pizza we have ever had at Sforno - it was bland and almost flavorless which is 180° from any pizza we have had before. It's a shame when a restaurant of any kind cheapens and or cuts back on quality ingredients for whatever reason - was the second story addition added to soon for the business to support? Did winning the Trib Live Best of the Best 2025 award listed on the door make them complacent? We will never know - but it's extremely disappointing to see this happen to a place that was fantastic up until now.

I really enjoy that the pasta is fresh and the menu isn't 40 pages long. It's straight to the point and you know what you're getting based on what is listed under the pasta shape. My short rib ricotta gnocchi was good but I do wish it had a bit more salt to bring more of the flavor to the front. The gnocchi texture was perfect and pillowy. The short rib mixed in nicely with all of the pasta and the sauce. My spouse enjoyed the cannelloni, which was pretty much their lasagna but also wanted a bit more salt. Our server was very nice and walked us through the menu options as well as told us about the seafood special for the night. The bread came out first and was delicious. The salad was also good and I don't usually like arugula. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and I enjoy that they take the time to do that. The space is very cute and you can't really miss it even with it being in an executive building. It's a smaller area but it can seat a good amount of people. We noticed they had a pasta making class so maybe next time we're in town, we can do it. The red sangria had a great balance where it wasn't too sweet. We didn't do dessert but we did enjoy the digestif at the end with limoncello and my spouse ate the amaretti cookies as I couldn't.

The pasta shapes are unlike anything else you'll find in Western PA. They even offer complimentary limoncello and Amaretti cookies to end your meal, which is a really nice touch. They have family style options for groups who want to try a variety of dishes, but the menu is just as fitting for a date night. Bonus: the leftovers taste just as good the next day! The space can get a bit loud with high ceilings and a full house, but the lively energy reflects how much people are enjoying the experience. Service was friendly and helpful with suggestions. The owner even stopped by tables to check on guests. It's tucked inside an industrial park and may be a little tricky to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, but GPS and signage get you there without much trouble. Definitely worth the visit!

I got the pasta Rosa, and it was seriously just pasta and sauce. Nothing else. Which would have been fine as a side but I was expecting it to be phenomenal in order for it to stand on its own as an entire dinner entree. My husband got the restaurants "favorite" - the pasta amato...he said it lacked flavor and the chicken wasn't seasoned at all. He did like the peas as an addition in the pasta though. Ugh and the tiramisu--gosh, I am so sick of restaurants thinking they're making tiramisu and they are not. Stop false advertising!!! It was a wetter vanilla cake with a hint of alcohol-- not worth it. Needless to say, We won't be coming back. I don't understand how this place has such high of a rating to be honest. It's like people in Westmoreland county have never had superb Italian food, meanwhile you could throw a rock and hit a pasta joint on any corner. I'm giving it a 2 because it was edible.

The menu had a large variety of food and we were watching the food coming out of the kitchen. The stuffed green peppers, pizza and burgers all looked good. Soon, our dinners arrived and looking/smelling good. Shortly after receiving dinners, our server, Alondra, checked in with us to ensure we were satisfied with dinner and refilling beverages. The roast beef and turkey dinners both had a good amount food. Mashed potatoes and a lot of gravy were a good accent. After dinner, we noticed the chalkboard dessert selections of deluxe carrot cake. I got to try the Sfogliatelle, vodka pasta, salad, and bread. I just live when places like this give bread, and high quality bread at that. Super soft and high quality. Add ons like that do really elevate the experience. And a solid side salad as well, with plenty of cheese but not very varied vegetable wise. The pasta itself was amazing. Very generous portion. A good amount of sauce, although not super evenly distributed. Perfect pasta and a really good, balanced vodka sauce. Really enjoyed this. The Sfogliatelle, it was my first time trying anything like this. It wasn't super sweet or all that flavorful at all, and was somewhat small. A bit lemony. Not sure if I'd have it again, but I loved the little crunchy sides and it was still pretty good. Overall, definitely a hidden gem in Murrysville. Loved the spot.
