Visiting Pittsburgh from Chicago. Mother lives a little east on the river and we were searching for…read morea new Italian deli to grab some sandwiches. We came across Patsy's and after reading the reviews on Yelp we were sold. When we arrived the owner met us at the back of the store in the deli section and proudly reviewed the menu with us and discussed our tastes. We wanted to measure Pittsburgh against the delis we've visited in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco so we decided on the Italian Hoagie as a familiar item. Patsy's OVER DELIVERED! The owner gave us his reasoning for each ingredient and why he uses the vendors he does while making the sandwich. It was fun to learn the history of where everything came from and why he sourced those particular items. When we arrived home and opened up the wrapping the bread and ingredients smelled just as fresh as the deli itself. The meats were fresh and each had a distinct flavor, the vegetables were crisp, and the bread was everything you hope for from an Italian deli. If we lived in the area Patsy's would be a regular stop for us! Thank you so much for your kindness!

I also always aim to pick up my Easter ham prior to Saturday before Easter because I don't want to wait in the longest of lines. Same deal with grocery shopping too. Regardless, the store is very well organized. Extra staff to keep it moving and stanchions setup to best utilize every square foot of the shop for their customers. I don't recommend getting any of the sides. They are overpriced and not that great of quality. Just grab the ham!

The biggest drawback to this location is the limited amount of close parking available. Fortunately, there are hotels nearby so you can park in their lots and walk over, but be prepared to park here. I ordered a: Philly Cheesesteak on Rosemary Parm Bread - the beauty of Jersey Mike's is that they cook the hot meats fresh for each sub!! The steak was cooked well and seasoned to perfection. Don't sleep on the rosemary parm! The extra flavor is soooo good and pairs perfectly with the cheesesteaks. I have ordered in person and online (through the app) and every visit my order was correct, I was charged correctly and the items were packaged neatly. One down side to this location is that the parking lot for the plaza it is in is terrible. It can be really hard to find a spot close to the location because there are so many other busy businesses right nearby. All of their ingredients seem fresh and have tasted great. You can see them freshly making everything to order (and making fresh things like tuna or chicken salad) as well. They are on the pricey side, but not much more than you would pay for something that is fried and not as high quality at a fast food restaurant. The inside has a small seating area and is well lit and maintained. I've often seen staff cleaning the tables and removing garbage. Overall, a nice location, just a bit of a challenge for parking.
