Service: The service was well handled & and customer service employees were easy to reach & talk to. It was Nikon Inc who recommended KEH Selection: I sold a Nikon DSL 600 & 2 Zoom lenses. The team worked with me on price & increased total payout above their offer. I have not purchased anything from KEH. Only sold equipment. Value: Although KEH did work with me, I still feel that their payout is low in comparison to what they sell items for. read more

I sold a Nikkor lens to KEH and it was professional and seamless. They kept me appraised throughout the entire transaction. Will definitely use KEH again to sell or buy photographic gear. read more

I had a horrible experience with the company. They quoted $400 for my kit which was perfect. Then offered me $175. Then when I asked them to call me they ignored my email and sent back my kit. Because they don't care about photographers, they care about money. What a horrible way to do business. read more

First time doing business with KEH. I've sold a few like new camera equipment to B&H and it was fairly easy. I was curious about what prices KEH would give compared to B&H for like-new condition Sony A7IV with Sony trinity GM lenses (the mark ii version of 24-70 and 70-200) and it was almost $2k more at KEH. Very smooth process from sending in the equipment to them sending a quote after they got it to getting paid. I haven't bought anything from KEH so I'm not sure how that is but they will be my go to for selling equipment now. Thanks KEH! read more

A great place to trade in DSLR camera gear. I have been taking advantage of the service KEH offers for 16 years at this point. I enjoy periodically updated my camera but don't want to have a closet full of cameras I don's use and feel it is great to give others the opportunity to use the equipment I have replaced. I try to take good care of my cameras at least partly so that I can get value when I sell to KEH. I feel KEH is careful about evaluating the equipment they buy and sell. read more

It takes an awfully long time to have my camera looked at once it arrived at KEH. And on top of this, I am not surprised that there isn't an option for direct electronic payment to my bank account. Perhaps I may have missed/not seen this option. The only options were: Trade, PayPal, or Check. I normally use MPB and their process takes usually takes 3-4 days at most. And they pay directly into my checking account. Now it will probably take a few more days for a physical check to get here, assuming it doesn't get lost in the mail. Honestly, this was t the kind of experience I was expecting from KEH -- especially with such high recommendations from so many YouTube photograshy channels. read more

On 5/21/2024 I ordered a Canon TC-80N3 timer remote for $58.00. I received a $10.00 RS-80N3 in the mail. I contacted them by phone to let them know they sent me the wrong remote. They told me the one I ordered was out of stock and the one I received must have been mislabeled. I told them that was not the case as I had the wrong remote they sent me in the bag with the correct label for the $10.00 remote. They asked that I send pictures. I did. They wanted more pictures. Sent more. I Asked them to refund the $48.00 difference and I would keep the wrong one as I could still use it. They said they had to review the images sent and would get back to me as if I was trying to pull one over on them for them pulling one over on me. I am still waiting. The RE-80N3 sells for $10 used on their site, I am sure it will be worth more now that I have it and they want to maximize their profits. I paid $9.95 in shipping for this little remote, they did say I could send it back. So I have the option of being taken advantage of and letting them charge me more than $10 for the cheaper one or spend $20 to ship it back and have nothing in the end. First and last time I ever deal with them. **UPDATE** After reaching out I received a refund and was able to keep the remote that was sent to me in error. They made it right and I want to thank them. I will likely give them another try. Thank you! read more

Overall trade-in process is simple and fast - better experience than one I had with Adorama. The estimate was reasonable - a bit below used market. No upsell or unsolicit contact - big plus Couple of suggestions: 1. No tracking info on the website. Need to pull the tracking# from the label. Would be nice to have the tracking# as part of the quote 2. The final estimate is less than the original estimate with no explanation. It would be nice to get a short description on why the price dropped read more

Lying or Incompetent? I purchased a Voigtländer Bessa III 667 Medium Format Camera from KEH in "Excellent Condition", backed by their 180-day warranty. The camera initially worked, but after one roll of film, it failed to close properly--despite correct handling. I sent it to KEH for repair under their warranty, but after over a month of delays and ignored emails, they denied my claim, falsely stating: "It was not set to infinity before closing and it appears to have been forced shut." As a photographer with 35 years of experience, I know for a fact that forcing this type of camera shut is impossible without visible damage or preventing it from opening again. Yet, KEH offered zero proof of their claim, just "IT APPEARS" and refused to honor their own policy, leaving me with a broken, expensive camera. KEH used to be a trusted company, but not anymore. Their ratings have plummeted over the last year across many trusted review sites. Their customer service is abysmal, their warranty is meaningless, and their technical knowledge is questionable at best. Either KEH doesn't understand the cameras they sell, or they intentionally mislead customers to avoid honoring warranties. Avoid this company--at the very least, be aware of what you're dealing with. read more

The online offer I received up front was more than double the quote I received once they had my gear, despite agreeing about the condition of my gear. You have a limited time to accept or decline the offer, but there is no way to decline the offer, none. You are forced to call them or they will automatically take your gear for less than it is worth. They say you can email, but they will not respond, probably to delay you so they can keep your stuff. That has all the hallmarks of a scam or shady business practice to me. "If this Offer is neither affirmatively accepted nor rejected by you during the Offer Period, the Offer will be deemed to have been accepted by you. KEH will then send you payment of the Offer price to the address associated with the Offer; note that if the Offer price is below $20, KEH will send you a gift card worth $20 which shall constitute full payment of the Offer price." read more

I sent 3 pieces of equipment to sell, and the whole process was so easy that I'm kicking myself I didn't do it sooner, but I had been putting off for months thinking it would be a chore to do. I was very happy with the offer they gave me for the items, and I ended up doing a trade for an item I needed and still had a few hundred dollars left over which they sent to me the following day. Very happy customer! read more

Easy simple service -- needed an emergency gear but it was a false alarm. Nonetheless thank you!

I have purchased a used 24-70 2.8 lens and most recently sold the lens it replaced to KEH. The used lens I purchased came packaged very well protected and works like a charm. I've been using it now for about 6 months with no issues. My sale of my old zoom lens was quite painless. The preprinted shipping label and payment to my paypal made it nice and easy. The shipping time took longer that the review and payment for the lens. Defiantly worth checking the site out for both purchase and sales. read more

Just recently had my second "bait and switch" experience with KEH. I was given a $321 email offer on my lens in "like new minus" condition. My lens had never been used and had absolutely no defects. I had a local camera dealer examine my lens and they confirmed my evaluation. But when I sent the lens to KEH, after their evaluation they revised their offer to $224. When I questioned them they couldn't explain why or point to any defect that I had missed. When I then rejected their revised offer, they suggested I have my lens reevaluated by another of their technicians. Magically, the next day their offer was raised to $310. This is the second time they tried to pull this on me, so now I think it's part of their business plan. read more

Amazing service today.. Alex was my sales person and he was amazing. Helped me along the way and knew my camera.

My brother is a photographer, so we had spent time talking about what I was looking for and what I should get. I went to KEH to purchase a Sony A6000 and lens after some research of a used camera store. I walked in and was greeted immediately, but everyone was helping a customer, so I just wandered around into someone was ready. They have a huge selection of cameras, lenses, and other accessories to purchase. After maybe 10 minutes, Jules was free and helped me. I told her which camera and lens I wanted and pulled it up on their website so she could get the stock numbers. She came back and let me examine everything and ensure this is what I was looking for. She then explained the warranty to me and verified I didn't need anything else. This is a well-run store with helpful personnel. When I'm ready for another lens, I will be returning. read more

Just look at the pattern of Bait and Switch reviews and that will tell you all you need to know about this company. Someone should take this up with BBB. Bait and Switch. They will offer to buy your equipment for a price, then. upon receiving, they will low ball you for a final payment. The only good thing abut this company is that they will ship back my equipment at their own expense. I had apprehension about using this company, but relied on some reviews. Turns out these reviews were way off. , They. Will try to explain away why the final offer is ridiculous, but it is nothing more than bait and switch. My camera and lenses is in pristine condition so there is no excuse why the final offer came in at one fourth the original offer to buy. Stay away from these people. read more

I sold some equipment to Keh. I luckily got exactly what I was quoted because my stuff was well taken care of. I was not expecting that after getting lowball offers from other places. Shortly after accepting the offer and submitting, within a couple of hours my funds were ready, and with a small PayPal fee, I got the funds instantly. The only thing was that KEH sends basic shipping labels and takes almost a week to get there, but, turnaround was fast. I would consider using them again. read more

I have been done business with KEH for several years and my experiecne has always been great. Having said that, today I had what was a unpleasant task. A recent purchase that did not work as their qualification had certified. Went on a shoot and the equipment failed miserably!! But, I didn't sleep well the night before!! But, I called and stated that I had a problem. I was connected to a very patient and courtious person that took my complaint and fixed everything!! So, I reordered a more expensive camera and sent the other one back for full credit!! Folks, these people are a real pleasure to deal with!! read more

My grievance is used camera SLR quotes. The flex extensively. In Feb 2022 i received a $600+ quote on 3 Canon FD mint cond leses and a perfectly functioning Canon AE-1 body. Also in exc+ cond. KEH gives you a 2 wk quote, why not 30 days, seriously? After which, your life gets busy & you must enter every pc of equip online again, tho u can call it in too. Ive had to do this 3x now through 2023 because life gets in the way. They want FedEx s/h so you must locate & use their pre-paid label. Im hoping all goes well, i will update if not. B&H Photo in nyc is also a great option. Ill get back w/my KEH experience once shipped to them. read more

I just received my package from KEH and way earlier than I thought I would! I had a couple questions after I ordered and the customer service I received from my phonecall left me confident in my order and he answered any and all my questions. I'm glad my friend referred me to this site especially because of the Affirm financing they offer. Price wasn't too bad and the price for my Nikon D750 and my 24-70 lens was still waaaaay cheaper than if I bought it brand new. The package was delivered to my door and I opened it right away. It was completely covered in bubble wrap and the individual items were placed in their own ziplocs and also wrapped in bubble wrap. The camera also came with a charger and a battery. Very satisfied with my order and will definitely be ordering again! read more

First of all, I bought from them in the past and I will keep buying from them if needed; the quality of the camera gear they sell had never disappointed me. The pain came when I had to sell to them some gears: - The original quote I got online from them was few thousands (let's say X) - Then, they received the gears and after inspection they offered few hundred less than X . To clarify, this is not a problem, and I do understand that there might be some negotiations. - Then I contacted by email to ask for explanation and make a counteroffer, and they never contacted me back (I could have called but their note says "contact us by replying to this email or by calling", and since I prefer to have everything written down during negotiation I decided to go with the email, since it was an option). - After 3 days of silence, they just re-sent me an email with the same amount offered, i.e. X, and no explanation given. I don't know if somebody is monitoring their email or what, but I think this process may be done better. If you guys want to be called, just remove "email" from your note. read more

Tried to sell some camera gear. Spoke with someone over video and he reviewed all the gear then gave me a price. Sent the gear in and a couple weeks later, the offer came through. The online offer was $415 and the final offer was $250. I assume this is some kind of bait and switch tactic most of the online companies use. Give you a high price then lower it once they have the gear in hand, hoping you just accept it because it's easy. They said the flash was inoperable and worth 0$ and a lens was scratched and dented and worth almost nothing. I knew neither was true so I asked for my gear back. I checked it over when I received it and the flash worked fine and I couldn't find any problems with the lens. Another greedy company. I will do my business elsewhere. read more

UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY. I bought and paid for a Sony A7Rii camera. What was shipped to me was a Sony A7R which costs about $300 less. If I had not been vigilant, this company would have palmed off a much cheaper camera than the one I paid for. When I asked the customer service representative for the name of the CEO of her company to complain to him, she said that she did not know his name - something that I had difficulty believing. I am a long-time customer of KEH, both buying and selling, and have always been satisfied....until today. I spent over $1,300 on a medium format kit that has a light leak in either the body or the film back. On their instructions, I sent the body back for warranty repair. They sent it back saying there was nothing wrong with it and suggested the problem might be with the film back. They swapped out the film back for me, and I still have the problem. Now they tell me that the warranty period has expired, so they will not do any more repairs unless I pay. I suggested they just give me a refund since they claim there is nothing wrong with the camera, but of course they won't do that since the return period has expired. The fellow I spoke to suggested I could sell the kit back to them. That's laughable since I know from experience the price they would pay would be about 30-40% at best of what I paid them. Their representative did not deny this. I would never do business with KEH again. It's too bad since I have always thought they were the best in the business. Something seems to have changed, probably having to do with their LBO sale. read more

I finally decided to sell my Sony pro dslr and lenses after going mirror-less a few years ago. I take great care of my equipment, but I am also realistic in the the age. I also use them for my full time photography business, so they get used quite a bit. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they came back after my original online quote, hundreds of dollars HIGHER. The speed of service, ease of the transaction, and how fast I received my money was exceptional! They will always have my business in the future. Thank you KEH! read more
