I bought all my cameras from here every lens they give you exceptional customer service now I cannot lie because their customer service is so high and their products are an excellent condition with exceptionally low prices. You can expect the super high wait time I've driven 3 1/2 hours here multiple times just to pick up merchandise. I have never been disappointed. They have a great buyback program as well as they pay top dollar for old and unused equipment. If you're looking to sell or purchase, I would recommend them and they'll also throw in a few extra batteries or lens covers and different things here and there nothing like having a cherry on top. read more

I USE to love KEH been buying and trading since 2005 .. but not anymore! Terrible Customer Service and was promised full refund and they did not refund the entire balance from RMA. Purchased an EX+ Olympus E3 and and EX+ 14-54 f2.8 lens -- the lens arrived in not EX+ condition .. it was missing the front rubber focus grip, marks on lens glass, scratches on caps and caps were not true caps. E3 had memory card door issues that affected the Sonic Wave Sensor cleaning and with those memory card door issues unable to get to menu to see shutter count. Pictures taken showed CF Picture Error on back of camera. When I called about the issues and spoke to rep and she said email her which I did .. for two days no response .. called on a Saturday and spoke to another rep, he said same email him .. Tuesday of the next week still nothing .. called and spoke to that first rep and she acted like we never spoke and I reminded her of everything and she said she doesn't remember and said she talks to way too many people everyday .. just tell her what I need. At that point .. I asked for a manager, left message for manager .. she never called back. Called in but on the Sales line and spoke to a really nice lady and she put me in touch with manager Greico. Left message for him and nothing for days. I finally call back and Greico answers, I think great finally this will be good now .. oh no, not good at all .. he told me he got my messages and planned to call me back at the end of the day .. he acted like I was bothering him .. I said "Is now an ok time or would you like to call me back?" .. he was like yes, now is fine, go ahead ... I proceed to tell him about the issues of the camera and lens. Here are just some of the things he said about the issues ... 1. Shutter Count: You don't need to know the Shutter Count -- it's not important, it's irrelevant. -- My thoughts: Does this guy really manage a used camera store -- is this guy serious? 2. The camera is in EX+ shape even with the memory card door issue, you can send it in for repair or return for refund. -- My thoughts: Really EX+ and I just get the camera and have to send it in for repair? 3. Olympus 14-54 lens is in EX+ shape as I am looking at your pics and it looks fine .. I tell him .. you don't see the rubber focus grip missing? He says, oh yea gotcha, you got the "Special Japanese Version" of that lens, they made them without the rubber focus grip so it's fine and really not needed. I said no they did not and he said he was looking at the info on their site right then. I said send me the link and he ignored me. I said I can clearly see on the lens where it was removed, most likely from being sticky and all he could say was that it can be returned or he can give me a $9 credit. -- My thoughts: Again, does this guy really manage a used camera store -- is this guy serious? Does he think I am some kind of idiot? I decided to return the Camera & Lens for a refund. Got my RMA and packed the product and shipped the product back minus the battery as there is no place near me that will take a FedEx package with a battery -- happened back before when I ordered/exchanged with KEH and wasn't taking a chance on this one. I had also did an online quote to send in a camera and some lenses I owned prior to this return .. I canceled it after coming to Yelp and seeing the reviews of how they didn't honor their initial quotes after arrival. Per FedEx tracking KEH receives my RMA and after a few days I emailed to check on status .. Rep calls me and tells me that per the techs review the camera is fine .. I remind him of all the issues and he says I shouldn't use a 4GB card in it .. I tell him I don't own a 4GB card the largest size card I have is a 1GB. He then says don't worry we are processing your refund but it will be minus $30 of the battery. I inform him about the issue of not being able to drop it off anywhere close to me with the battery label on it and I had saw the battery on their site for $7 so I was prepared for that but $30 is not correct. He said he was checking on it .. I get the refund and it is short $38.61 .. I emailed Rep and he said he would look into that .. it has been 7 days and no response to my daily emails asking about the status of the rest of my refund. $38.61 may be not be a big deal as many others lost more money .. but it's still money owed to me and I also wasted so much time with calls, emails and was treated so poorly and given ignorant and untrue answers like I was some idiot camera buyer, now my emails are ignored .. so this is very insulting, very disappointing and this was very disheartening. THIEVES! My initial customer service contact with Andrew was great, but it went SEVERELY downhill from there. My camera - rated EX+ - arrived in non-functional condition. I was EVENTUALLY issued an RMA and followed those instructions to the letter. NOW they're telling me they're NOT going to issue a refund because there was "sugar" in the packaging and that it somehow damaged the camera. Well - the packaging was THEIRS. I fished it out of the trash to return a camera that already WAS NOT WORKING. In addition to now reneging on the refund, they're saying they're going to ship the NON-WORKING CAMERA BACK to me. What good is that? I bought from KEH because they have a stellar reputation. That's either been paid for or things have changed. I feel like I've been ROBBED of my hard-earned money, bait-and-switched into a non-working POS camera, and basically told it's my fault that it arrived broken FROM THEM! Over the past few years, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with this company. How happy was I to move into Atlanta and discover that one of my favourite Camera sellers is just up the road. In the past year alone I've spent over $10,000. I have purchased possibly over 100 lenses in the past 18 months. Obviously this is my profession and not a hobby, as I am running crews all over the world and we need a lot of lenses and a lot of equipment. I first noticed a problem when a $2000 Camera I was trying to purchase (Slightly used in store - was suddenly unable to be sold to me because someone online had just purchased it. I literally had it in my hands. I was ready to buy it myself. I was forced them to pay an extra $300 for a new version of the Camera .... Twice now I've returned a couple of lenses because they had fungus inside them or some other issue, one refund took six weeks, and another refund I was told could be offered as a gift card.... I refused. The refund process in store took two hours. I was told they have a new accounting system perhaps this is the start of all their problems. A third Lens I tried to return and was told I couldn't return it because the accounting system was having problems but I could trade it in on another Lens purchase however when they inspected the Lens that they had sold me a week ago, they told me I could not traded in because it was not up to their standards, even though they had sold me that Lens a week ago. The Lens had fungus that the previous instore buyer had not noticed Four times while visiting the store lenses have come out that have been inside the wrong bags. Obviously problems can happen when you're such a big company. And then one day I got a phone call from a very angry staff member demanding that I return a Lens that I've recently purchased because it was in the wrong bag. I spent half an hour looking for this Lens and it did not exist. So eventually when I brought back the Lens that I had purchased that was apparently meant to be a different Lens, I was told the Lens they had sold me did not exist in their system as the serial number did not match. From that moment onwards all I got from the end store staff was suspicious looks as though I've done something wrong, and for the life of me I think it's easy to blame the customer when somebody in the staff makes a mistake. The problem with this business is it it's such a big corporate machine, they do not understand that people make the business, and grumpy stuff that accuse people of things they haven't done destroy the business. My budget for equipment every year ranges between $20-$40,000. I will never deal with this company ever again. Something has changed over the last year or two, and there's nothing worse than being greeted with grumpy people who cannot even apologise when they make a mistake.. The system they have set up is at fault clearly, and I'm tired of being their client. I should be welcomed with open arms every time I walk into the store because I am worth a lot of money to businesses like this. Some of the staff in store have been absolutely delightful and incredible... and they have made the in-store experience worthwhile.... But something is definitely wrong inside this organisation and I really hope that the senior management read this and know that a revision is needed in customer service. All I wanted was an apology for someone else's mistake. I'm happy to walk away and take my business to other companies who value me as a customer who would otherwise sing their praises. I am sure there'll be a comment from the customer service person here when they read this review. But the words mean nothing because the business has to improve before they win over customers like me who wanna just be treated with a smile. read more

I purchased a camera body from KEH on the 27th of March 2026; it arrived at my house on the 31st of March. That was my first mistake. After the camera arrived, I realized it wasn't quite what I wanted, so I contacted KEH and asked to return it. They sent me an email with an RMA return form. So I printed the form, packed the item and shipped back via UPS. It arrived at KEH on the 2nd of April - I was notified by UPS - KEH never sent me an email that the item had arrived back to them. I was told it would take 5 business days before my refund was sent back to PayPal. After 5 days, the refund still wasn't in my account; I called KEH - they related the refund was processed on the 2nd and it was a PayPal issue - I contacted PayPal and they did not have anything pending from KEH. PayPal advised me to open a case so they could track what was going on - So I did. Apparently, KEH got the hint and refunded a PARTIAL payment after the case was opened. When I discovered they shorted the refund, I contacted KEH again to find out if there was so kind of re-stocking fee. No, I was supposed to have been refunded the full amount. Today is the 20th - I contacted them this morning to see where the rest of my refund is - Now, I'm told it's going to take "5 to 10" business days to get the rest of my refund - It's been 12 business days since KEH received the merchandise back and I'm still waiting for the rest of my refund. What company treats it's customers this way? They didn't even offer to pay return shipping, and they are going to short me on the refund? I will never, ever buy gear from them again. read more

I have bought from KEH for years. They always have a large selection online and up until about a year ago. The descriptions were generally spot on. Something has changed in the last 12 to 14 months. Prices have remained the same or have matched the escalation in the market for cameras and lenses, but the accuracy of their detailed descriptions about their product, and then the inevitable interaction with customer service has been an exercise in frustration. This isn't a single experience, as I said, my last three purchases have all had problems and it took two or three emails and a phone call to get them resolved. My latest issue was not resolved after a month of emails and phone calls. Previously, they have shipped the wrong part, or the description did not match what I received, and in the latest incident, they didn't ship all the parts to a very expensive and specialized lens, when contacted there was a follow up shipment to partially replace what was missing. All four of the CSM's. I spoke to gave me a different story each time I called and the last email I received was condescending, if I'm being really generous. It's difficult for me to give a negative review to a used camera equipment retailer when so few exist, and resources for this hobby shrink almost daily. It is not just me apparently. After the latest issue, I checked the online forums and they're full of recent negative reviews. I can't in good conscience either recommend the shop or spend any more money there. read more

I would not recommend this company. I'm so upset because I so many good reviews. But unfortunately that wasn't my experience. I was aware they didn't disclose shutter count on their cameras, but through reviews it all seemed like the higher quality gear had low shutter counts . I paid $1600 for an Ex grade. When it arrived ot had over 180,000 clicks. This is about 95% of the cameras life span. I emailed them and explained I was not satisfied as I expect less use and a longer lifespan considering the grade and what I paid. They said they don't put shutter count into the grading . It's only based on appearance and the function. They said I could exchange it but I have to pay the shipping to send it back. The said I could upgrade for an EX+ so I hesitantly agreed. I paid $19 for shipping. 2 days later I receive an email saying I need to pay an additional $309 plus shipping for the exchange. I was never told I had to cover the cost , as I thought given the shutter count they would upgrade it after the hassle and incorrect grading in my opinion. I refused to pay more espically not knowing the shutter. I asked for a refund and they agreed minus the original shipping. I didn't even pay shipping , it was free. However they wanted to take additional money out of what I paid. So here I am , no camera and negative than I started out with. If you care about equipment usage and shutter count I would not get a camera from here. They don't care and apparently it's your fault "because you agreed" read more

My experience, and that of two photographer friends who have dealt with KEH is that they underrate cameras when buying them one or two steps below what they will rate it when selling. During covid, a friend who had been sick and missed the return window to return a new camera he had purchased but didn't like; he rated it at like new-, and sent it to KEH in the box, with a dozen shutter actuations on it made in his living room. KEH rated it as excellent, two steps below like new -. He phoned them and raised hell and they then rated it as like new -. I recently bought a camera from them rated excellent + that didn't work properly and I had to pay shipping and a restocking fee to return it. KEH told me one of the defects I complained about was acceptable to them in a used camera. I'll bet it wasn't when they bought the camera. I've had better luck with ebay and craigslist. read more

Their rating scale is somewhat ambiguous and misleading, "Excellent" is actually average. I received a tripod head with obvious impact damage, seems to work well without grabs but has obvious impact damage (several substantial chips in metal dials.) The condition of the camera is not what described. They rated the camera excellent when it had a lot of wear to the lens of the camera. Returned. They didn't provide a full refund as of today. I wouldn't place an order knowing they are lying about their grades. The camera had more than average wear. The rim of the lens was pretty much gone and there were scratches on the lens. Non of my cameras I used A LOT are even close. And they said it was in EXCELLENT condition. NOT! EDIT: Changed the rating because they returned the processing fee, so I received the full refund. I recently discover some type of cracks in the inner part of the front glass of my lens. Immediately the lady told me that that was cosmetic damage & is not cover by the warranty despite I did purchase this lens not even 120 days ago brand new well within the 180 days they said they offered. But because I didn't purchase extended warranty they offered, I would have to pay over $300 to get it fixed. First & last time doing business with this people. Thanks God, I did purchase a Carepak directly with Canon. Stay away. That's my advice. Buy directly from the manufacturer. You will save lots of headaches. read more

And then, the "final quote" was substantially less than the quote offered. I was low-balled as the equipment I send them was literally weeks old and mint. I considered buying a $1500 camera body that had gone unsold for months. I asked KEH to reduce the price and show me a photo of the actual item instead of some other. They refused time after time to do either, giving phony reasons like the body being at a different location, and finally refusing even to escalate to an authorized person. KEH's grading system is a bit confusing. I've bought 4 film and digital cameras from them in the past 6 months. All "BGN". However, what I received was anything but bargain. In fact, I would equate their "bargain" with the "Near Mint" cameras from Ebay's Japanese sellers! Maybe the word mint doesn't translate well. This is a great camera source with more than fair prices and fast shipping. The only thing I can't comment on is Selling and Customer Service, as I've never used either. read more

Hard to beat my experience selling my camera gear to KEH. I had a box of camera gear I no longer used, a few Digital SLR and mirrorless bodies, and a couple of lenses per body. I didn't want to go through the hassle of listing and selling it all individually on eBay, so I looked around for recommendations of where to sell my gear from other photography enthusiasts. KEH was the overwhelming recommendation. They gave me a fair initial offer, not much below what I'd expect to get selling everything individually, so I accepted it, packaged everything and sent it off. My previous experience with other buyers like KEH has been that they'll lower that offer once they have your gear in-hand and "inspect" it, knowing that many users will accept the offer to avoid the hassle of shipping their gear back. Instead - KEH actually paid me ~$200 MORE than my initial online estimate, something I didn't expect at all. Hard to imagine a better experience, and they'd be my first choice any time I had more gear to sell. read more

Be very careful using KEH as their accounting can be a total train wreck and they WILL mangle bank accounts with their screw-ups. Cash all funds OUTSIDE of your personal/company bank accounts so that their screw-ups don't impact your finances. For buying lenses from them I give them a solid 5 - they go out of their way to offer high quality used lenses and you should have all the confidence in the world, but for selling to them, it's a 3ish...maybe 4? I fully accept that they are a business and have to buy lenses at a price where they can resell them and still make a profit. I also realize that I could get more money if I went to Facebook Market Place or ebay, so I expect to take a hit for the convenience of just selling my lenses to them and not dealing with random strangers. I also realize that people tend to overestimate how great of shape their gear is in. In my case though, even if going by their own grading system, what was offered online and what was offered upon inspection were different and I don't understand that. I was looking to downsize my gear by 2 lenses - the first, my 85mm f/1.8 lens which I thought was almost new with original packaging and the other which was the beautiful Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 lens which I thought was EX+. That is a beautiful lens, but I will be moving to mirrorless in the near future and had to part with it because the native glass on the Z-mount takes advantage of the wider flange, but I digress. I thought that even if they downgrade both of them, I would still get enough to make me be ok with it. Sure enough, they knocked the "like new" down to EX and the EX+ to EX. But then the offer I got was not only well below the higher grade, but also what their own system said that EX and EX+ would get. I tried calling and nobody would answer the phone but when someone finally picked up, I was told what each lens was worth, but they really lowballed on the zoom lens. According to them, the zoom ring was too loose or too tight (I don't recall which) but it made no sense, because that same lens was serviced by Nikon a few years ago and was in perfect working order. Pretty much all the internals were repaired by Nikon in El Segundo before they moved. They said that they had to knock down the price because they would have to fix that. I find that a little hard to believe because: A. there is no way they can service this particular lens in-house. I know because when I had to service the lens myself, nobody, and I mean NOBODY would touch it. It's a very unique lens that has tiny tolerances. Nikon was the only place with the right tools to work on it so clearly IF there were any issues that they found, it would be purely cosmetic and again, it was rated EX by them. B. If they did indeed plan to send it to Nikon, and it was indeed an issue with the zoom ring, Nikon's price to repair would be double their offer and likely what they could sell it for anyway...I should know beause I paid Nikon $760 myself and ever since then babied this lens. After telling them that I would rather just get that lens back, they were nice enough to re-evaluate it and then they added a little more, but still not what they said they'd give for an EX condition lens. Perhaps there are subcategories for each classification but it felt like a bit of a bait and switch. And to be fair, what they offered me for the 85mm lens was very fair. So I will use them again should I decide the 24-70mm won't work out on mirrorless. read more

I have been putting off selling camera gear for some time, falsely thinking that it would be a hassle and not worth the effort. I finally had older gear that I felt offered great value to someone, so I went through the 'easy' process. I was very pleased with the ease to do the process, send in my gear with the pre-paid FedEx info, and then hear back that my quote from KEH was not that far off from what I said my gear was worth. Just today, I received the amount promised, and I had that easily sent to my PayPal account. I am simply thrilled and will use the program again and again. i purchased a camera from them, It was rated as "excellent". I got the order in the mail. import fees, was filthy and heavily used. The camera grip was peeling off of the camera and the flash port was missing the cover. I wrote KEH to inform them of my dissatisfaction, they said to return the camera (at my own expense) and they would analyze on return and if the camera was not as advertised they would waive the restocking fee and refund me my return shipping. I honestly thought they would do the right thing, but when they got the camera back they simply responded "the camera was graded correctly" and closed the matter. Absolute joke of a company, terrible service, low standards. I will never purchase from them again, and i will even go as far to tell others that they are a terrible company. They treated me as though I trying to some how capitalize on this transaction when in reality i've lost more than $100 and my own time in this process. Customers buy from KEH instead of eBay, hoping to get some amount of service/security, but in reality their prices are at the higher range of the used market, the quality is less than what they state, and from a service perspective their customer service is awful. Do these people think that I as a customer am asking too much? The biggest issue for me is the grip peeling off of the body, that is not Excellent. To be honest i was so disappointed with the camera upon immediately opening the box, that i contacted them before even turning the camera on. STAY AWAY from this company. They don't care about your satisfaction. They offer "warranty" and "support" but in the end they will blame the customer first and any issues you have will be at your own expense. This company may have built a name years ago, but if you look at the recent reviews, clearly they are going down hill. EDIT in response to Nadia: I spoke to KEH today they told me that "excellent" condition does not guuarantee, port covers. I told them that this would compromise the "weather sealing" feature of the camera, they stood behind their rating. I asked them about the grip peeling off of the body they told me "the grip is not peeling off though the corner is showing some separation" again they stood behind their "excellent rating". Essentially KEH knows how to play their disclaimers/fine print along with what was as some point a good name. Clearly from the recent reviews, something has changed. There may be nothing I can do per the fine print, but I lost my money so that others don't have to. STAY AWAY FROM KEH, unless you're getting a great price and can handle substandard quality. The Nikon AFS 85mm F/1.4 I purchased was graded at "Like New Minus" and I strongly disagree. KEH states this about "Like New Minus"..."Barely used with virtually no traces of wear. Only the closest inspections will reveal slight use. Perfect glass, but the box and accessories are usually not included." The lens I received was clearly used. The lens cap has been beat to hell. There is paint coming off on the depth of field scale located on the top of the lens. The front element was dirty and had a substance on it that needed to be cleaned off. read more

Hi Fellow Photographers I have nothing but great things to say about KEH. I'm changing over to Canon RF from EF. I sold camera bodies and several lenses and bought a used RF lens from KEH. Their offers for my gear were more than fair. In fact they are paying $100 more than I estimated for the last set of gear I sent them. Their service is great they answered all of my questions and its really nice when a company actually answers their phone to serve their customers. Please do not hesitate to patronize this company. I wanted to sell some cameras. I was quoted $250. When evaluated they offered $25! The cameras were near new! Shame on KEH Camera!

I've been a KEH customer for well over 10 years. Always superb experience. However, in 2025 my transactions took a turn downhill. Purchases weren't as good as they used to be, smiles turned into considering returns and low balls on quotes from KEH. At one point I cross shopped them against another used camera shop and found they quoted me 20% less for 8 lenses I was selling. Purchased a hard to find 12 year old camera in Excellent condition. The body cosmetics were decent, needed a better cleaning and the lcd was totally delaminated, the entire lcd. Not even close to Excellent condition. Cross shopped them on another lens and KEH quoted less than 1/4 (yes, one fourth) what I received from their competitor. Apparantly I'm not the only one. I sorted the Yelp ratings by Most Recent and something seems amiss at KEH. 3 stars as they served me very well for years. Hopefully KEH will get back to their former self. However, for my last sale and 3 purchases I didn't even consider KEH as a source. read more

I discovered many years ago KEH is the shop where professional photographers go for buying and selling their equipment. Although I'm a hobbyist, I tried KEH back then and they continue to provide good service today. My most recent experience was selling them a used Leica camera. Their original offer was a few dollars more than a big camera store here in New York. KEH paid for shipping, acknowledged being a few days behind schedule which was okay with me. I agreed with their offer and was paid with PayPal. KEH actually paid even more than the original quote. With social media here to stay, I couldn't imagine being in the used camera business these days but I am grateful KEH is still around. read more

I've been buying from KEH for many years, and have always been very satisfied with my purchases. Their grading is totally reliable in my experience; if they say something is "Like New", you can expect it will arrive looking like it just came from the factory. And I just sold them a lens: I bought an 85mm 1.4 prime lens from them and sold them the 85mm 1.8 that it was replacing; their offer was quite fair (it was like getting a nice 20% discount on the faster lens), and payment was prompt once they'd evaluated it and made their final offer. The location is in the midst of a lot of office buildings, but was not too hard to find. Plenty of parking! The staff was extremely nice and attentive. They answered all my questions about selling and offered solutions for some concerns I had about my lens. I came to sell an older Canon camera and Dan ( I believe was his name) was very quick about offering a price. The place is set up really nice and there were a lot of staff to help multiple people at a time. I would certainly go here again for my camera needs. read more

Today they offered me $588 for a like new 85mm sigma dg dn art for sony e mount, but then are currently selling it for $998 !

I bought a lens and paid for fast 2-day shipping, knowing I would not be home on Wednesday (8.20). The website said the delivery would arrive by 8.19 (the order was placed on 8.17 - so a Sunday). Then I received an email from Fedex saying that the delivery would of course be Wednesday. I called to ask why the discrepancy and they explained that since they're closed on Sundays the shipment only leave Monday so that falls into the 2 day delivery parameters. I explained that I only did that because their website advertised delivery by 8/19 otherwise I would NOT have paid extra to receive a thing late! When I dared ask for the shipping charges to be refunded they told me it's an IT problem and just made me speak with different people that told me the same thing. I find the overall behavior offensive since it was clearly advertised (and will still be if you buy on Sunday) that that days is included in the 2-day shipping. I want to hope that it's just a random error and not a malpractice on their side to include Sunday as working day instead of removing it. Regardless of the quality of the product, I would not recommend buying from KEH because paying for a "premium service" actually equals to receiving a sub-standard service and paying more than normal. read more
