He did nothing to help my sister. She and my parents had come home from a trip to find the keypad to the garage did not work. They could not get into the house. They did not have a key to the front door, which was bolted from the inside. The locksmith came out within 30 minutes of us calling the company. The woman I spoke to who took the call was lovely and helpful. The locksmith however, not so much. He was happy to charge my sister $100.00 and do nothing to troubleshoot the problem. Luckily, my elderly parents and sister were able to spend the night with family and call out a locksmith who actually helped them and got them back in the house the next morning. I recently purchased and moved into an older Tudor home in Pasadena. I did what any good home owner would do which was to change my front door lock. I did not realize how difficult this task would be. I had a terrible experience with the first locksmith on yelp. He came to assess the problem and essentially left me hanging telling me he couldn't fix it while still charging me a service fee for coming out. Horrified. Had just come home from the airport and misplaced my house keys. I requested a quote and was told "starts at $95 for labor" to unlock the top lock only. They came after 1 hour, looked at the door and then said $250. Haggled down to $150 because $95 to $250 is outrageous. I've called a locksmith for this door once before and they were able to do it in under 1 minute. Sadly they were unavailable. Keep calm took 20 minutes and ended up destroying my lock.
