Someone asked a question looking for fried chicken livers and it reminded me of the need to do this review. I am usually not an organ fan. The one you play, great. But eating an organ or something like that is just not my thing normally. But I was raised eating fried chicken livers in Alabama so this is my one exception. That's it. If I get an underdone chicken liver, I'm done, so being cooked well is a necessity for me. I always get the fried chicken livers at Go Chicken Go which I have accidentally called Run Chicken Run. It is probably an accurate name even if I find it unsettling. I've always gotten well cooked chicken livers here. It's all I've gotten but my boyfriend has gotten gizzards (no, thanks) and the fried chicken and really liked both. I've had their biscuits and tasted the fries and they are both pretty good but I'm really there for the fried chicken livers. A large order is 2-3 meals for me. We order through the app and pick up in the drive thru. We have never had to wait long since we order through the app and our order has always been correct. I highly recommend doing it this way if you can! It is quite user friendly. I haven't been inside so I can't review the ambiance but it's fast food so I wouldn't be expecting too much. It's sort of in a more industrialized neighborhood so it it not fancy at all on the outside. Those places often have good food though. If you are looking for a fancy, dine in experience, this might not be the place but if you are looking for some well cooked, fried chicken, livers, or gizzards along with a pretty good biscuit on the side, check them out!!

The roll was a dinner roll lightly buttered. The full order is very generous and easy to share. I really enjoyed the gizzards either the spicy sauce. The batter was crispy and the gizzards were not rubbery. I thought the addition of the roll helped offset the heat of the sauce. I went thru the drive thru and the service was fast. The friendly server also happened to have a similar dog to mine, and her energy added to the great vibes overall. The food was good and hit the spot. First time in I had a chicken sandwich and while it was a bit generic, or maybe a better term is replicable, it still landed for me. This time I got more of a BBQ platter with ribs, pulled pork, fries and Texas toast. It all was good, particularly the BBQ sauce. They topped it with extra mozzarella cheese which gave it all the more flavor. I ordered a side of tuxedo fries, which were pretty good- a little soggy since we took the food to go. Since we were staying near our Airbnb, we searched for a local place and landed on Burnt Ends BBQ, a restaurant that's well known for its barbecue sauces. We walked in with no expectations and were quickly seated. Our server, Lily, greeted us right away, took our drink order, and brought out complimentary cornbread bites. Those little bites were a fantastic start to the meal. If I lived nearby, I'd probably order those every visit. I had already decided what I wanted, but my wife was doing her usual "let me study every item on the menu" routine. Lily recommended the All the Ends Platter, so I changed my order and we decided to share it. The platter included beef, pork, and corned beef burnt ends. I chose the creamy coleslaw while my wife selected the baked potato salad. Presentation was excellent. Everything looked like it was going to be outstanding. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't quite match the appearance. The corned beef burnt ends were decent, the pork was just okay, but the beef was easily the best of the three. Since Burnt Ends is known for its sauces, I sampled all four. None of them were what I'd call unforgettable, but my favorites were the Thick & Bold followed by the Honey Glaze. The sides were a mixed bag. The baked potato salad was served warm, which makes sense considering it's modeled after a baked potato, but both my wife and I prefer potato salad cold. It wasn't very busy, yet it felt like the air conditioning either wasn't working or simply couldn't keep up. It definitely affected the overall experience. In the end, the service from Lily was very good, the complimentary cornbread bites were excellent, the fries were spot on, and the ribs were the best thing we ate. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal--it just wasn't the memorable Kansas City BBQ experience I was hoping for. If I were only in town for a few days, I'd probably continue exploring some of the other local BBQ spots before returning. I wish they had a detailed menu with prices, instead of the very vague menu without prices (must ask for prices, most of which are in the $16 range including tax). Adjusting portion sizes and prices (closer to $10) for single meals would be more competitive with the other food trucks nearby.
