Everyone has told me Go Chicken Go is the best place to get gizzards and livers. So when I saw I was close to one, I had to stop. Since my hubs loves livers ( I do not) and I love gizzards ( he does not) we got a full order. It came with 2 sauces and 2 rolls- the perfect split! The sauce is like a spicy salsa. The roll was a dinner roll lightly buttered. The full order is very generous and easy to share. I really enjoyed the gizzards either the spicy sauce. The batter was crispy and the gizzards were not rubbery. I thought the addition of the roll helped offset the heat of the sauce. I went thru the drive thru and the service was fast. The food came out hot and fresh. read more

It had been awhile since I had GO CHICKEN GO. stopped in for a quick bite and a stroll down memory lane. Olathe store was very clean. The young man working the counter welcomed me with a big smile and thanked me for coming in today. 3 pc. Mixed dinner. The young woman prepared my tray and offered a thank you and a big smile. What a treat! Just like I remembered it. Hot. Crisp and moist chicken. Hot mashed potatoes and cold crisp Cole slaw. Love it. read more

After eating this, I felt like I was having a heart attack. It felt like if I took a bunch of speed all at once. I don't know if something happened with the food, because I've eaten Go Chicken Go throughout the Kansas City metro area for the better part of 30 years and it's always wonderful - but that was an experience. After having waited years to eat it again, I tried it, and I'll tell you this: how they are able to get all of that MSG to look like chicken and gravy is a Wonder. Me and my wife were having hot and cold flashes cuddled on the couch like we had just finished 4 days at a heroin overdose clinic. So anyway, maybe take a break from Go Chicken Go for a while. I hear their gizzards are great, but they just taste like rubber bands deep fried to me. Chew on a rubber band, and then try to eat one of those and tell me I'm wrong. We thought it tasted good while eating it, but the gravy is clearly just MSG gelatinized. I don't know. Maybe I'm getting old. Maybe this is for the Young bucks. Good luck folks. read more

We ordered a 6 piece value meal with some a la carte gizzards and sauce. The last time I had go chicken go was probably 20ish years ago and I didn't think much of it then. I found the chicken to be so flavorful with delightfully crunchy breading. The mashed potatoes were a nice white, traditional mash. The gravy was salty and buttery. Thinking more about it, it reminded me of egg drop soup. The rolls were just classic little puffs. Gizzards were good and go really well their G sauce. I would definitely revisit. read more

Order this online and pick it up for a chief watch party and it's always a hit. Order a few boxes of each! It was a fast food restaurant, so it's not the fanciest inside, but definitely not dirty. read more

I had been craving Go Chicken Go! Well, I was able to satisfy that craving when I stopped by the Olathe location. I ordered the two piece snack which comes with mashed potatoes and a roll. I requested 2 thighs - well,& could tell the chicken had been sitting for a while and wasn't fresh. Sis In Law raved about how good the chicken gizzards & chicken were. So we had this on our last night in KS. SIL said there's about 4 stores in the KS area. Wifey and I wanted to try jus about everything since it smelled sooo good inside. We got the Mixed sampler that had 2pcs fried chicken, 1 bun, and a mashed potatoes with their yellow gravy. The Fried Chicken reminds me of KFC/Jollibees moist inside and crunchy outside. Was pretty good!! We also go the 1/2 order gizzards & 1/2 order liver. Gizzards were tougher than I'm used to and kinda bland. The chicken livers which were also kinda bland. Not sure if there is any seasoning on the gizzards/livers or even in the batter. Didn't taste like it. I can say the best part was their G sauce. Their coleslaw was good and also reminded me of KFC. Service was ok. Got busy at the time we got there. Apparently they ran out of dark meat and 2 customers wanted that. Took about 10-15 mins for them to make more of everything cause drive thru also was busy. Would I go back? Today I got a half order of gizzards. The price had increased and what I got barely covered the bottom of the box and certainly wasn't half a box. They are made ch smaller than usual as well. They are no longer worth getting. If they did this to the gizzards, I'd hate to see how they cut their chicken meals back. read more

100 out of 5 stars. I recently was introduced to Go Chicken Go and I am HOOKED. Their menu is no-nonsense, delicious, home cooked chicken. The rolls are buttered. The chicken is perfectly fried. The coleslaw is tangy. The baked beans are savory. The mashed potatoes and gravy are life changing. I kid you not when I say I consider getting their chicken strip lunch every single day. The drive-thru is a major plus, too. I love being able to swoop in and grab one of their lunch boxes on my way home. Go Chicken Go is definitely added to my roster of favorite places! read more

We've eaten here many times, the food is always fantastic. If you want great fried chicken or gizzards, this is the place! Today we had family in town and they wanted gizzards so we ordered through DoorDash. Our dasher left the order on the sidewalk and screeched away fast...probably with one of our dinners because we were short one. Anyway, I called GCG and they were very apologetic and one of the workers brought a dinner right over...they don't even deliver and they went out of their way...such amazing customer service! read more

I heard this place was great for chicken and gizzards/liver by many of my friends so I had to try it. To be honest, it's ok. The fried chicken looked good but it was a bit too bland for me and not enough crunch. The gizzards are a bit better, but nothing to write home about. The dining area is small and a bit dim. Nothing fancy and in a bit of a rundown place. This place is a bit far for me to drive to get chicken. I think it's well loved at my work because there's a running joke that if you go out for chicken, you've quit. Apparently, someone years ago went for chicken (probably here) and never came back. I will tell you what this place is great for though. They have really cool T-shirts of their establishment so people at work always get T-shirts as gag gifts at my work for people who retire. Overall, chicken is ok. The gizzards and liver is better. T-shirts are the best hands down. read more

My "strip snack" included two large, delicious, chicken strips. The white meat was moist and tasty, while the crust was very good, and reminded me of KFC original recipe. The mashed potatoes and roll were just acceptable, while the honey mustard dipping sauce was very good. I found the service to be friendly, and very helpful. I was offered free samples of chicken liver, gizzards, and the new mac and cheese when I mentioned this was my first visit. The restaurant interior was clean, without any background music. read more

Okay, I gave this place a high rating so people would try it. I wouldn't say it's the best fried chicken out there, but I will say they have the best gizzards and livers if you like livers, but I don't. And I like their wing pack too. They have a good mashed potatoes and gravy, they gravy is a yellowy gravy kinda like broth. That's about all we get there but it's the best for gizzards and that g sauce read more

Go Chicken Go - My Favorite Sister has raved about the fried gizzards at Go Chicken Go through our various phone calls over the years. On our last night in Kansas City she, My Favorite Plus One, and I finally made out there. My Favorite Plus One, ordered a half order of the gizzards, half order of the liver, and we got a snack box because it had a couple pieces of chicken and some sides that we could sample. It was a Friday night and they were doing brisk business. Most people were taking out and the drive through was non-stop. Ordering took longer than it needed to because FPO and I couldn't figure out what to order. We let a lot of people go ahead of us as we read the menu. I'm just going to say that the food here isn't to my liking. The gizzards were tough and the chicken didn't have much flavor. The best part was this electric yellow gravy that went on the mashed potatoes and the rolls, which my sister says are Sara Lee (she saw the trays in the back of the kitchen). This is one place that I don't need to try again. read more

What can I say??? If you are on a 2000 calorie diet then you've come to the right place. You can get all 2000 in one shot right here. 1999 if you get water to drink... Lol! You gotta love this place because the chicken is just off da hook. It is a different taste all together. It's not like popeyes or churches or kfc. They put a different kind of crack in this chicken and sprinkle it with diamonds. Especially the gizzards (Lord have mercy) I have to be careful not to eat a pound by myself. Ooooh and the dinner rolls are delicious and melt in your mouth. As far as the mashed potatoes go, they have to be some of the best instant potatoes I have ever tasted because the gravy will make you slap the fool out of somebody ya heard. So come on down and get some of this crack, I mean chicken. Oh and if you are worried about your calorie diet, don't worry there are more than enough here to get you by. read more

I drive 20 minutes after checking the website for update business hours only to find that you are closed? Can you please at least, the very least update your business hours. Time spent travelling would've been spent cooking. This is the 2nd time in a row I've driven to Go Chicken Go and the hours of operations have differed from what's posted online. We love this place BUT the chicken, while always tasty, is inconsistent. We have discerned that chicken purchased around dinner time is darker, greasy and the breading a little soggy. Chicken purchased earlier in the day is brown and tasty with a nice crunch to the breading. My suspicion is they do not filter or change their oil throughout the day resulting in old, debris filled oil being used later. I hope they read this posting. read more

I didn't grow up in Olathe, but a friend who did highly recommended Go Chicken Go to me. I've never been disappointed. It is hands down way better than KFC, and if you are looking for local fast food fried chicken, you can't go wrong here. The chicken has always been tasty, crunchy, hot, and fresh. Finally found myself at the Olathe location! When I lived in KCK in the late 90's I was a frequent visitor at the locations there. Since moving back to the KC area a couple years ago, I have stopped at both KC locations several times. I wish there was close to me! I found this location to be the same as the other two, which is one reason I love Go Chicken Go. You always know that to expect. The gizzards are pretty much what we go for. Almost the best ever. Not over breaded. Tender (as a gizzard can be). Sometimes we get the livers: Yum! Not dry or over cooked like a lot of places. Sometimes I just order chicken. I love that you can order a 9 piece and pick mixed, mixed w/o wings, all dark, or all white. Everything I have ever ordered has been hot and fresh! So many of my friends LOVE the rolls, which are basically cheap tear apart rolls that have been split and buttered. Not a huge fan, but others truly dig them. I can't say that any of the sides stand out to me...which is why I rarely get them. The G Sauce is interesting. If you like it, you can get extra in a little condiment cup. If you love it, you can buy a bottle of it to take home. The drive through was great. Like the other locations, they never rush you to order. Like the other locations, the customer service was wonderful. If there is a Go Chicken Go nearby, I will continue to stop to get gizzards and/or chicken even if it is just to take home and eat on through the week. read more

I was raised on chicken livers and gizzards (lizards and gizzards) from Go Chicken Go. This is my favorite chicken dive. 5 stars qualified by saying 5 stars for the best "drive through chicken gizzards" money can buy. People come here and are disappointed by the blue collar atmosphere. But who cares about atmosphere. This place is about one thing, gizzards. If you love them come here and get a half order of gizzards with their signature G sauce and a sweet tea. Drove 10 minutes each way from Spring Hill only to get home with a incomplete order. I will forever call them "DON'T GO chicken go". The food isn't that great anyway. Strips isn't much further and it is better. Also the employees care enough to listen and get your order right. read more

This place may look run down but the chicken is to die for. My gf and I recently went to this place because she loves the gizzards. I personally thought they was alright but where my new found love for this place was in the strip dinner combo. They give you 3 tender and ungreasy think strips of chicken a roll and a deliecous small container of mash potatoes and gravy. With the order I got the G-sauce which is by far the best hot sauce I've ever had (not really all that hot but great taste) read more

The food isn't bad, but the service is the absolute worst. They can't get an order correctly to save their lives. And they won't admit they've made a mistake. I guess it's just the way of the world that fast-food restaurants can't get or keep competent help. They won't be getting my business any more, either. read more

First time here by accident, but it worked out okay. I have heard many good things about it, but have never eaten at a Go Chicken Go. I was impressed with the service, the cleanliness, and the quality of food. I had a snack meal of chicken pieces, mashed potatoes, and a roll. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was much better than most places, less cream and flour and more chicken flavor. I'll be back for sure. read more

The bar is a private bar but the restaurant is open to the public. You can place your order and the staff is willing to car hop your order out to you if you don't want to get out of the car. They're even willing to deliver if the order is over $30. A cash app method of payment is available or you can pay by card. This restaurant is up and coming. In general, I think BBQ is often freshest during lunch hours, but we still had a fantastic reunion dinner. I also noticed that they have whiskey, bottles, and cans. No taps. Though they do serve all drinks in a glass. The whole place gave me a vibe of a quick setup that they could pick up and leave at any time. To wrap this up... If this BBQ place were somewhere else, it would get rated rather high. But this is Kansas City. There is MUCH better BBQ, cheaper, just down the road... no, it doesn't matter which road. My honest opinion... this is a half-hearted attempt at a BBQ restaurant and more of a quickly tossed together venture to capitalize on area BBQ.
