It was my first time here and it was decent! It was pretty slow for lunch...maybe a couple tables besides ours? I got the three meat plate. Ribs and brisket were my favorite. The pulled pork was okay. Loved the fries - they were piping hot. 4 stars is because everything else on the plate was just a smidge warm at best, closer to room temperature. This included an app we got.
It's been one of my favorite places since they opened. When we moved away Ianytime I was back in KC this was one of my favorite places. Come for the specials, stay for the drinks! You won't regret eating here! And to top it all off their chef was nominated for a James Beard - so you know it'll happen here too!

First off what a cool concept two of my favorite foods, fused together. The smoke brisket spring rolls were very fresh and were on the specials menu. The drunken noodles were exploding with flavor make sure you ask for mild if you can't handle a lot of heat. The Golden Crab fried rice was very light, had a good flavor, I also ordered the Mac and cheese, it was Mac n cheese. Service was great, I feel like you can dress up there or dress casual there they accommodate both. Highly recommend!
Best of Kansas City BBQ meets Thai flavors! I wasn't aware this food concept existed, but I'm so glad it does!! This place is delicious! Great service, well laid out restaurant, comfortable feel to the dining room and they even have a private meeting table in a walled off space for about 10 people. Really enjoyed the BBQ BRISKET FRIED RICE...$18 Jasmine rice, smoked brisket, egg, cherry tomato, serrano, red bell pepper, scallion, bbq sauce (GF) - it was very flavorful!! Not too wet or saucy. I asked for extra veggies and less rice. It was sooo good. We also tried the CHILI CRUNCH NACHOS...$12 Corn tortilla chips, cheese sauce, pulled pork, chili crunch, scallion, bbq sauce, pickled red onion. Delicious!! Loved the chunks of pork. Dragon fruit mule was so good, but SO sweet. Couldn't drink it w/o adding both the lemon and the lime slices!! Thirsty Thursdays is ALL DAY happy hour menu!
I loved these ribs. Buck Tui is such a great fusion. Where else can you get brisket rangoons or pad Thai with brisket. I do wish they had just a few lighter options but overall great experience with friendly staff.
This was our first time trying this restaurant. We can't stop talking about coming back!!! we started with pork eggrolls, but I failed to take a picture. The highlights of the meal were certainly these entrées. The portion sizes are huge, so be prepared to take some home with you. The ribs are tender, the sauce is just the right amount with a slightly sweet taste. The rice which accompanies it had pineapple, cashews, scallions, and was amazing. The brisket in the noodles was tender and so tasty. So excited for this find!
I would eat anything on this menu! Everything sounds absolutely amazing. The combinations they have are so unique. I got the pineapple fried rice and it was delicious. So flavorful and fresh! Our server went over the menu with us and was very friendly! It's a very laid back vibe. I will definitely be coming to try a few more things!!!

My personal favorite is a table on their patio when the weather permits. The bar is spacious, with high top tables and lots of stools at the bar. For take-out, they have convenient reserved parking out front and the dining room is both spacious and enjoyable. The menu features Bar-B-Que with Thai flair, and they have daily specials, so checking ahead can be rewarding (e.g., Double Wing Wednesday). If you enjoy Rangoons, their Brisket Rangoons are exceptional. If like authentic Papaya Salad, the Som Tum Thai is a perfect choice. For BBQ enthusiasts, the Triple Plate Entree is perfect. The sharable sides allow for a great variety of flavors. If you're looking for something unique, the Phad Thai Brisket is excellent. Their bar program is top-notch, featuring fresh craft cocktails that perfectly complement the food, along with a wide variety of wine and beer. I get the iced tea. Buck Tui is one of the few restaurants where I have never ordered dessert, but I hope to have enough room to try a bite or five one day!
Checked out Happy Hour today!! A dinner of very flavorful appetizers- my favorite the sausage rolls!!!! Service was SUPER quick. There is some outdoor seating when it is not 100
Food is always fantastic! Freshly made to order. Homemade sauces that I purchased for use at home. I always leave full and happy. Staff are so nice and helpful with menu selections. The restaurant is always clean and has cutest decorations. Love the pillows! I think you could hang the sayings up as signs and not just pillows. Love the neon sign. Cocktails are fantastic!
I honestly haven't been there for years. However, I recently went, the actually night special menu was absolutely amazing. Even though the restaurant's selling point is Thai bbq but their actual Thai dishes were better. It's so flavorful and cooked just right. The Friday night special menu has some great dishes.
I've had their brisket in the past and was quite impressed....but I got a 1/2lb of brisket the other day and it was close to, if not the worst burnt ends I've ever had. On top of that they were about $23 out the door for a 1/2lb!!! Which is insane. I couldn't even pull apart a burnt end. I want to believe that the meat was just bad meat...not Buck Tui.... That's my hope. I can go to Price Chopper and buy prepackaged burnt ends and it comes out better than these. I took a few nibbles of what I could but ended up trashing the whole order and drove down the street to Slaps, which I should've done in the first place.
Amazing food. Amazing service. This place has been on our list for quite some time and we finally got to try it. Seeing the wealth of interesting appetizer and entrée options, it was hard to pick, so we chose a couple different appetizers and entrées to share. The Tiger cry, beef appetizer was phenomenal, especially with the dipping sauce. We got an appetizer portion of the brisket phad Thai. So good that I would want to get a full entrée size of this. The Mussaman had super tasty curry and the meat was seasoned very well. I had 1-2 pieces that seemed overcooked, but the rest was super tender. The only dish that we didn't care for was the Pineapple rib fried rice, really just because of the rice part. Not a lot of flavor and had more of a cooked feel to it than true fried rice. I'm not sure we even saw any traces of egg in it. The ribs were super tender and flavorful tho, which made us feel better about ordering, but we wouldn't get it again unless the ribs can be paired with something else or they improve their fried rice. Overall a very pleasant experience. Thank you for great food and friendly service. read more
Came here with my friends and it was a great time! We started with happy hour sausage dumplings and brisket crab rangoons, both delish, and then ordered the recommended brisket pad thai! Absolutely love the brisket pad Thai oh it's so good warmed up. I can't help it we always have to get so many of the appetizers I always have plenty to take home! The wings and the. Brisket Rangoon and egg rolls are the best. We celebrate my son's bday he loves this place we had the back room so we could really enjoy and our server was just great. read more
We have been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. I try to get something different each time and i must say, everything has been wonderful. The X-Man sandwich has a wonderful flavor and is my favorite thing I have had. I also loved the Brisket Pad Thai. Just the right amount of spice...not near what a traditional Thai restaurant might be....probably a "mild +". Their appetizers we have had are excellent as well. The Brisket Rangoon is wonderful, crispy with plenty of brisket. I also love the Brisket Eggrolls and Thai Sausage Dumplings....sooo good. They have a full bar and offer specialty drinks as well. Give it a try if you like Thai food with a touch of BBQ! read more
Looking to try something new in town and came across this restaurant that's Thai and BBQ Fusion. Inside was very vibrant and chill setting. They were playing R&B jam. Our waiter was very nice and quick to serve. The menu was limited of food items. I order the pull pork drunken noodle and my hubby got the pick 3 meals with 2 sides. The food came out very fast. I love thai food alot! My noodle was ok. The meat have some smell to it. Lack of some flavor and little salty. My hubby meats combo was all sort of craziness. The ribs was okie, just no flavor and dry. The pork belly is dry and crispy and also bland. The worst was the brisket. It's like hard rock dry and super bland. The nice waiter came and check on us and we told him about it. He went in the kitchen and came back with a less dry brisket. The BBQ sauce make the food more edible. But still doesnt improve anything. The seasoning of these meat doesn't have any bbq to it. Like amateur cooking. A big disappointment to this food fusion. Won't be back again. Our waiter is what got 2 stars for this place. read more
Buck Tui BBQ is a great addition to the kc bbq scene. Offering a Thai based influence on all of the popular bbq dishes. They have all of your traditional bbq dishes but they also have Thai based dishes. They also have daily lunch specials the chicken wings were a part of that deal. I also got the brisket and burnt end plate. The burnt ends were soft and very flavorful. The chicken wings were marinated in butterscotch. So they had a nice sweetness. If you are looking for a different twist on kc bbq this is a great for you. read more

Interesting food combo but really enjoyable! We came on new years day so it was quite empty. Was given a gift card to try it out as we've been exploring local restaurants. Thursdays happen to be their happy hour day which was nice! Super excited over the appetizer options! The brisket crab Rangoon's were delicious and creamy. The pulled pork egg rolls also hit the spot but I think more pulled pork would have been better. The sausage dumplings were alright, was a big fan of the sausage as it had different (herbs?) inside that just didn't match my taste buds. For the main course, the pineapple rib fried rice was the most looked forward too but was a little disappointing. The ribs themselves were good, a little fatty but that could've been the ones we got, the fried rice though, in my opinion, was very sad, so it got drowned in quite a bit of bbq sauce. Their bbq sauce it very good, only had one option on the table, and it's sweet over tangy. Also got the two meat combo with the Thai sausage (again not my favorite), the brisket (standard, nothing special), and with fries and white Mac n cheese. The fried and Mac n cheese were the highlight of my main meal. I'd definitely come back but I think I was a bigger fan of the appetizers than the main courses. All the staff were nice and checked in quite often. read more

We had the brisket Rangoons and the sausage dumplings they were unbelievable for our entrée. We had the brisket pad Thai, and it was the best thing I've ever had. Will be coming back here soon. Great experience great menu. read more

I've been wanting to try this place forever, but was unfortunately very disappointed. The brisket Rangoon were amazing. If you get anything from here, grab those to go. The bbq plate was nothing special. The brisket was good, but dry. The pulled pork was very fatty and flavorless. Fries were good, but the beans were just odd. Can't really describe them. The pad Thai was awful. The pork was very hard to chew and it was way too spicy. I love spice, but this just scorched my throat. I couldn't even eat it. The service was okay. They were not particularly attentive, but they did take the pad Thai off the tab without any grief. Ambiance was okay, too crowded. Not for lack of seats. They just pack you next to everyone else. Plus, their toilets were all out of order. I had to go next door to O'Rileys, do not recommend that btw. Overall, it was disappointing. Not worth the price. Snag some brisket Rangoon and take it home. read more

After seeing Buck Tui on Yelp, I finally had a chance to go last night with my girlfriend. I was really impressed with how much they care about what they do. It is such a fun blend of KC BBQ and Asian influences. We had the brisket Rangoons, wings, brisket plate and panaang pork belly. All came out in a very timely manner and our server was attentive and friendly. If I could go back, I would want to try more of the interesting entrees and less of the traditional BBQ plates. If I want really excellent BBQ, I'd go somewhere else. However, if I want that BBQ with a new twist I'd go to Buck Tui. read more
The location is beautiful with colorful table coverings and murals on the wall. We ordered Brisket Rangoons and Thai Sausage Dumplings. They were both so incredibly good. I'm not a fan of seafood so I was super happy to try the brisket rangoons. They had the right balance of cream cheese and meat. We split the Pad Thai Brisket and a Panang Pork Belly Plate. The sauce on the pork belly burnt ends was so good. It was like a peanut curry sauce. The pineapple fried sauce wasn't anything special but it was decent. The Pad Thai was phenomenal. The service was good and they kept our table cleared of plates as well finished each one. I'll be back to try more. read more
Very expensive but unique and high quality food. For around $66, I got Panang pork belly burnt ends w Mac n cheese, half order of Thai burnt ends, half order of pork belly, and a side of the deliciously creamy ranch-like tiger cry sauce. The panang pork belly burnt ends had deliciously sweet Thai pickles, super moist wonderful rice, and chunks of kinda meaty kinda fatty but not the greatest or most juicy pork belly chunks with not spicy panang sauce. Not bad. The Mac n cheese was super rich and pretty good. This was about $26 which is crazy expensive. The Thai burnt ends were great! They weren't all super juicy but were mostly juicy and the sauces were good. The green vinegary spicy sauce was too salty but the "barbecue sauce" was phenomenal and perfectly sweet. It kinda tasted like it had tamarind in it. They were about $21. The pork belly came in large strips with the same two unique sauces. They were kinda dry and I wish they were more moist and juicy, but they weren't like crispy bacon dry. Not bad but not great for $18 or so. Love the unique take on bbq! read more

We loved Buck Tui BBQ and now have wondered what took us so long to come here! Service was excellent. The BBQ was a wonderful fusion of asian and KC bbq! From the outside is looks like casual BBQ.place, but wow once you're inside it's very high end! Well done buck tui! read more

I never expected to say that after a stay in the Kansas City area, that one of my favorite places for a BBQ dinner would be a Thai influenced BBQ restaurant in Overland Park, KS. The whole experience at Buck Tui was amazing, made better by our server. He was overly efficient, and they probably had him covering half the front room, and he did it well. I felt going in that a Thai influence on BBQ would be a best of both worlds situation, and that was an understatement. The flavors on and in the meats, particularly the wings appetizer, kicked things up a notch. Their brisket was probably the leanest I had anywhere in the area this week. The fermented papaya salad was the most interesting of the appetizers, and an acquired taste. I couldn't stop eating the pad Thai that was one of our sides. Drinks were also interesting and very well made. A place like this would be one reason folks in Overland Park don't necessarily have to get into Kansas City for their BBQ. read more
SO DELICIOUS!! Perfect mix of southern barbecue and thai flavors. EVERYTHING was good, you really can't go wrong. The mac and cheese was my favorite mac and cheese I've ever had. OMG! We picked it because it sounded interesting. We love Thai food and well we were in Kansas so why not have bbq Thai. So many gluten free options. This meal was outstanding. The appetizer maybe the best appetizer we have had. The flavor of the soy vinaigrette made the dish very memorable. Next I had the pho- amazing. Right amount of seasoning. Meat was tender and just a hint of barbecue flavor. Hubby had the brisket and pork. (Tender and tasty) Staff were all very friendly. I just wanna start off by saying WOW!! This might be the best Thai fusion I've ever had. I didn't know Thai would mix so well with barbecue. If you haven't been here, you must go immediately. We ordered two main dishes, the drunken noodle pork which comes with flat rice noodles, pulled pork, egg, onion, broccoli bell peppers, Serrano and Thai basil. These were some of the best drunken noodles I've ever had. We also ordered the pad Thai brisket, which was rice noodle, smoked brisket, egg cabbage, beans, sprouts, scallions, peanuts, and lime. Honestly, I don't know which dish was better because they were both absolutely fantastic. My only complaint is the prices were a bit high, but given the high-quality meat and dish itself, I can understand why. I will be back very soon. read more
