This was my second visit to KBC and it was just as good as I remembered! You are greeted by the desserts case as you enter and head to the hostess station. I was alone, so I headed to the bar where they told me David would take of me there...and boy did he! David provided fantastic service the entire time and had a great personality! The crowd was light as it was a Wed(?) and they had live music. The musician, Brett Stafford Smith, was a one man band and his music was enjoyable. He played a variety of songs, some known and others unknown to me. David "convinced" me to get the downtown peach cocktail and it was a hit, especially since my "diet" went out the window once I set my mind to return. I started with the okra fries. They were whole pieces fried. They were good, it could've used a touch more of seasoning. (I'm from Birmingham, AL where late night fried okra ain't basic! iykyk). My entree was the snapper pontchartrain. The serving size was large and the flavors worked well. My only complaint was my grits were not hot. Otherwise, I'd recommend it. FYI...I still finished my plate...and I ordered dessert. I opted for the cookie. I cant remember what kind it was but it was soooo good! I got it to go and ate it all before I got back to my hotel. (Don't judge me...it's my back!) next time I'm in the area, this place will be on my "must eat" list!

Everyone in my party enjoyed everything. Looking for a nice introduction to Dothan. This is it. James was our server and he assisted us by being timely and super friendly. Drinks were top notch and the comp dessert for my boy Issac from the Love Boat was spectacular. Till next time. Johnson Out

Refined Southern charm at its best! This spot in Dothan delivers elevated comfort food with bold flavors and thoughtful presentation. Every dish felt like a nod to tradition with a modern twist -- truly satisfying from start to finish. Big shoutout to James, our server, who was the perfect mix of professional and personable. I will personally be coming back to the restaurant because of his service!! He is a true delight. His food recommendations were spot-on and service impeccable. Highly recommend if you're looking for Southern eats with a touch of class. Also, even if you're bringing work colleagues this place fits them all!! All is welcome, try this place out! Music and vibes are what you need and get here!

Burnt Ends Sandwich. Sandwich good, chips just okay at best.

Went for brunch with some friends from out of town. Happy to say experience was better than the last time we went. Service, as before was good, but this time food came out in a reasonable amount of time and everything was hot and tasty. We ordered two brunch burgers, kids chicken tenders, the burnt ends sandwich, the hangover bowl and the grandma's breakfast. Sides were good, although the chips and fries were just mediocre. The fries didn't taste fresh, maybe re-heated, but can't say for sure. Others in our group had grits and said they were delicious. Restaurant was busy, but not crazy, and, again, our server was friendly and attentive. Glad we gave it a second shot, definitely saw an improvement.

My lovely enjoying our dinner. Owner Kelsey Barnard Clark has photo groupings showing her family and her appearances on Top Chef, etc.

We were able to work in dinner before concert at the nearby Civic Center. It had been several years since we had been in Dothan. The entrance area in KBC was a little different with the counter / cases changed, but it still has a great atmosphere and food. My wife went with the Caesar salad and the optional chicken and it covered the entire salad. Generous portions and tasted great. My wife is in a power wheelchair due to ALS and it was easy to get in and out of the restaurant. The hostess and our waitress were very attentive and helpful for her.

Ambience and food were phenomenal. Our server was great 10 out of 10 would recommend. There was 8 of us and all of our meals were top notch!

We were incredibly impressed with our visit. Had a wonderful waiter who was very friendly (Thanks Mike!). He even went back to the kitchen to confirm a couple of ingredients that my wife is allergic to were not in any of the dishes we were ordering. We shared four of the appetizers and all were delicious. We had the wicked chicken deviled eggs, okra fries, butter bean dumplings and flat bread pizza. We would definitely recommend!

    RAW LAMB CHOPS... completely unacceptable!!!

Don't let the Top Chef name fool you... more like Bottom Chef. I ordered lamb chops and they came completely raw. When I asked them to redo it, instead of giving me new lamb chops, they took the raw ones that I had already touched, butterflied them, and still managed to give me raw lamb chops again! Not only is this poor service, but also unsanitary. Additionally, I asked the manager to just take the lamb chops off my bill because it was clear they were never going to cook them right. He insisted I order something else because he didn't want me to be hungry. I wouldn't have ordered anything else since I lost my appetite, but he kept insisting, so I got the steak frites, thinking that maybe it would be comped since he was pushing me to get something else. When my steak frites came, there was a cut in the middle of my steak, and it was clear the chef cut through it to make sure it was cooked. Why would a chef of a nice restaurant need to cut through a steak to know if it's cooked correctly? Although they charged me half for the steak frites, I feel like this entire situation was absurd to begin with. Don't waste your time coming here.

Decor - Farmhouse-y comfy Food - Hip Farm to table Noise Level - average to loud during busy times I took my mom here for a few girls lunches. Which mom, is a picky eater, so that speaks volumes about the quality of their menu and service. We ordered the sandwiches of the day, because we are adventurous eaters! I'd recommend the same for you. The creativity on the menu is perfection. We have also tried the soups. Which were delightful! One thing that you cannot escape is that you are in the south, and there is true southern charm in the service. I also appreciate that, they are accepting of all. Which is not always the case when in this part of the country. I felt, as a person in the LGBTQ+ space; this was a place that all have a place to be. Pros: Amazing Food, Comfortable Space and Decor Cons: I sat by the door, which, I would not recommend.

    Butterbean Soup Dumplings

Stopped in Dothan for the night and I had to come here and give this place a try. I sat at the bar and the service there was excellent. My butterbean soup dumplings were delicious and had a nice kick to them from the chili crisp. I did wish they were a bit plumper and the broth on its own was very salty. The pork chop was so light and juicy. I finished the whole thing and didn't feel stuffed.

This was our second visit here. If it had been our first I'm not sure we would go back but I know last time was great so I'll take it as an off day. We got the wicked chicken deviled eggs and they were really good-no issues with that. For our meals we ordered Mahi, snapper, and grilled shrimp with a side of fries. The Mahi was very very dry and the noodles were a bit al dente (was it supposed to be?) The snapper was ok but was also a smidge dry but I liked the flavor. We ate it anyway because it wasn't BAD it was just dry. I'm not sure how my daughter ate her shrimp or fries. The shrimp was so salty I would have sent them back if she would have told me before she ate 4 out of 5 and the fries tasted stale. All the food was barely warm, like it had been sitting a while. The butter pecan cookie was great but my daughter said the macarons were a bit more like eating sugar plastic with no flavor. Our waitress was nice and did her best with recommending foods based on popularity. I think it's just so disappointing because last time was pretty good and the cost is too high for it to be just "ok" Side note my husband and I shared meals and both of us had upset stomachs before we made it home. I would probably do 2 stars for the meal but the service was friendly so I added a star. I hope to update with a better review next time.

AMAZING quality! Server was friendly, professional, and very attentive. The interior ambience was very jazzy and beautiful, matching the outdoor music and lighting. A must to visit if you're in Dothan.

Food was just ok. I had the cast iron chicken which was dry and tough to chew. I couldn't even. Cut it with my knife. But the mashed potatoes were delicious. Husband had their fish dish pan seared snapper and he said it was delicious. Service was a tad slow, as in we.sat their for like 10 mins before anyone brought us waters. The waiter didn't seem too interested in waiting on us. The restaurant itself looked really cool. Would we go back, probably not.

We were seated right away, but almost every table in the place was packed. Our server greeted us pretty quickly and got our beverage order started. My husband stuck with coffee and I got one of the energizer beverages the morning sunrise that includes elderflower tonic, orange juice, and period strawberry. It was delicious. I chose to order the breakfast burrito with fruit as my side. The fruit was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. There were a lot of grapes and it would've been nice to have some more of the melon but overall it was delicious. Breakfast burrito was nice and tasty. I would've liked a little bit more meat in it but again it was still delicious. My husband crafted his own breakfast and got bacon with some eggs and the French toast. He said everything was delicious.

No one checked in, not even for water. One waitress even looked directly at us, said "hey," then turned to help the table next to us without actually checking if we needed anything. Eventually, another staff member noticed we'd been sitting there a long time with no service and stepped in to help. She figured out there had been some sort of miscommunication--apparently we were sat, but no one was told we were sat. We ordered drinks, but only 3 out of 4 came out. I waited another 10 minutes for mine, and my aunt had to go check on it. My mom also ordered an extra shot of espresso for her drink, which somehow took longer to arrive than our food. When the food came out, my mom's plate was missing entirely. We were told it had been dropped and was being remade. Then my sister found a hair inside her burrito. I ordered the signature French toast and was given the basic French toast instead, which I pointed out immediately. To be fair, once everything finally got sorted, multiple staff members were trying to help, and the food itself, aside from the issues, was genuinely good. It's just incredibly unfortunate how much went wrong leading up to it. Between the long wait, missing items, wrong items, and a hair in the food, the whole experience just... sucked. I rarely leave reviews like this, but this visit was extremely disappointing. I hope it was just an off day, because the actual food has potential--everything else just needs serious improvement.

You just have to know the procedure, but it wasn't only me, a Northerner whose brain hadn't yet fully recalibrated for the local accent. Locals were confused too. Procedure is this: tell them your drink preference (I had water), pick up a tray, put it on the counter, pick out a main, three sides, a dessert, slide it down to the register, pay, and take it to your table. At that point do you begin eating? No! Remove your items from the tray and they come by and pick it up. Now begin! You may be thinking "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld but I assure you it didn't feel that way. Just the quirky way they run the place. The waitress did warm up after I was there a while, came over to ask where I was from, etc. And to try to convince me to come back for breakfast! This is cafeteria style, with everything prepared ahead of time and kept warm on steam trays. So how do they keep that fried chicken so crunchy and delicious? Perhaps the best I've ever had, the batter so crunchy you could probably hear me eating from another room, assertively peppery, the large leg and thigh pieces perfectly cooked and juicy. (White meat also available.) My sides were lima beans, turnip greens, and yams. The highlight was the yams: super sweet but not in a bad way, balanced by good seasonings. The beans were fine, a bit salty. The only disappointment were the turnip greens, too finely chopped and overcooked. The portion sizes were decent. Also included is corn bread. Two choices: baked or fried. Never heard of fried so I tried that. Interesting but a little chewy and not so much corn flavor; next time I'd get the baked. Finishing this rather large lunch was a challenge for me but I managed, while taking in the local ambience. I saved the dessert for later. Dessert? Yes. I was also asked on ordering what I wanted for dessert. The only one that appealed was the red velvet cake (the others were a cobbler and bread pudding) so I got that. I assumed it was included but when I paid I saw it was not. $4; no big deal. It didn't look that good, a thin 1 inch slice tightly shrink wrapped on a paper plate. Looks were deceiving. The first time I actually liked red velvet cake, a light crumbly texture and cream cheese frosting that tasted of more than sugar. With the amount of frosting this tiny slice was quite filling and I'm glad it wasn't larger. All this for a little over $21. I think this was including tip but I'm not positive. Either way, great deal!
