We drove to The Bottle Tree after work with 5 staff members, about 20 minute drive from South Dothan, we were in for a treat. We got there and I told the greeter we had driven all the way from Nebraska to dine with them tonight. Their response was "do you have reservations"?? They found a way to get us in to a mostly full restaurant. The owner came over and we chatted about Nebraska. She said her dad had went to University of Nebraska but finished in Florida. She said she was born in Lincoln. Well that gets you favored status I guess, the service was spectacular all evening. The restaurant has wall drawings of influential people that had helped them start the restaurant which was pretty cool. Most of us had the Snapper with some spicy macaroni that was simply to die for. We ate every bite. After dinner we order strawberry shortcake and Banana pudding. The shortcake was good but the banana pudding was not of this world it was so good. I will go back for the pudding alone !! Do not pass up a dining experience with this crew at this restaurant.

Best restraunt in the Wiregrass. This is hidden gem in downtown Headland. Their menu is superb and they have amazing weekly specials that are a must try. Family atmosphere great service!

Alligator/pork sausage and gulf shrimp pasta with creole cream sauce

I had the fried cheese curds with homemade creole ranch as an appetizer and they were perfect. For my entree, I had the alligator/pork sausage and fresh gulf shrimp pasta with creole cream sauce and it was fantastic! Plenty of shrimp and sausage and just the right amount of sauce to not overpower the dish. I also recommend the adult peach tea drink made with peach tea and a local peach moonshine distilled just down the road from Keel and Co distillery. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall a wonderful experience and I will be back.

    Duck and carrots..... yum!!!

I can say over the years that I have ate here, I have never been disappointed. It is a cafeteria like the name implies. Last time I was there, there was at least 4 meat choices to chooae from. In the cafeteria price, dessert and your drink is included. For me, that meant an entree, 2 vegetables, cornbread, sweet tea, and banana pudding was $8.50 plus tax. I have definitely ate at more expensive cafeterias over the years. If the cafeteria does not suite you, there is a menu. My entree today was BBQ chicken, oven roasted type with a wonderful, home-cooked taste to it. Cornbread was pan-fried and flat. Green beans were what you would expect. But the star of my plate was the potato salad. It was chilled, with the right combo of mustard and mayo and a smooth texture. I wish I would have chose a double helping of it over the green beans. No surprises with the banana pudding and my sweet tea was refreshingly sweet. There is an employee that checks on refills and cleans the table for you. Broadway cafe is a solid choice for a cafeteria style lunch if you are near Ashford.

Our server was polite and greeted us shortly after we were seated. She brought waters over to the table and then gave us some time to look over the menu. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy, but it was busy enough to keep the two servers on in a study flow. While the location is nice. I did notice that there seems to be a lack of noise control as it was quite loud for my husband and I to hear each other over a two top table. I opted for the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli me while my husband chose the grilled ribeye with potatoes and brussels sprouts. My fried chicken was amazing! Had great seasoning. The mashed potatoes are really good and the broccolini was perfectly cooked for my liking. I would definitely order it again. My husband's ribeye was cooked perfectly to that medium , well temp. His potatoes were good but his brussels sprouts were a slight disappointment. They basically had no seasoning whatsoever and tasted like mush. It would've been better have they boil them and then put them into a cast iron for a little bit to get a little bit of crisp on them. Overall for a hotel restaurant, we found the location to be convenient and decent food.

Salad and tandoori chicken - tons of unsweetened tea that was fresh and yummy. Great portion sizes, good flavor and terrific service all at a reasonable price!
