Great food. Very laid back atmosphere. Small and a little short on staff but that sort of added nicely to the place. Very good selection of beer and again the food was FABULOUS! Will be back soon.

My word- it was GOOD! We found this place on Yelp, on the way to the beach, and really, on your way to the beach, almost nothing is bad :). But this little hole in the wall exceeded expectations and was delish! Po-boy catfish sandwich - perfectly fried without a bunch of heavy crust and the bread was fresh and just crispy enough for the po boy. The she crab soup was well seasoned, thick and plenty of she crab. The piece de resistance was dessert - beignets that were the best I've ever had! Hot, dusted in confectioners sugar, with a pillowy outside and a soft sweet center. We were fighting over who got the last bite. Nice service and the signs on the wall were hilarious. Great place for lunch!

Parmesan crusted grouper with cheese grits--so good!

I LOVE a good "hole in the wall with great food", and Blue Moon definitely fits the bill! Our party of four shared two appetizers--Boudin balls and tuna dip, and they were both exceptional. We each had different entrees--grouper, shrimp, crab cakes--and ALL were SO good! It's a laid back atmosphere with great, personal service. I do wish they had a better wine selection, but the beer selection seemed to be much better. Definitely a great find in a town full of too many chain restaurants.

I forget what this was called, but it was the special and it was especially tasty!

Who knew this little hole in the wall would house a generous slice of New Orleans flavor? The intimate setting was complete with a bayou mural and kitsch covered walls, and the kind of porch lights that make you feel like you're at a craw dad broil on someone's back porch. I had the special, a creamy seafood dish with just the right amount of heat topped on a generous portion of angel hair spaghetti. I was in hog heaven!! My dining companions were equally pleased with their choices, including a whopping bowl of jambalaya and an oyster poboy, all at a very reasonable price. If you want to take a quick trip to New Orleans, I recommend this culinary journey tucked away in Dothan, Alabama!

Get the house grits!!! I am not a fan of grits but it had to be one of the best things I have ever tasted. I also had the Parmesan Crusted Grouper and it was excellent also. They do have their liquor license now, but they are still working on getting a good set up. Great atmosphere! The staff is very helpful and courteous. It is probably the best food I have had in the Wiregrass area.

Went with a fun gtoup. All had delicious food and good friendly service. Bbq shrimp n grits delish. Gem burgers a big hit too.

Soft shell crab po boy gave me food poisoning. Would not recommend eating here for your safety.

We were the only people in the restaurant at dinner time which was a little concerning. The fried green tomatoes were good with their house sauce. My shrimp and cheese grits were good, but just good. The house sauce was put in the bowl, but in my opinion it ruined the simple cheese grits and shrimp. Honestly, less is more. This bowl had a lot of the house dipping sauce, cheddar cheese and goat/feta like cheese, green onions, and bacon. The shrimp was good. I got the Petite bowl and it came with 5 shrimp and 4 hushpuppies. The hushpuppies were just okay. Not much flavor. Would have liked the dipping house sauce on the side of that rather than poured in my got bowl. My boyfriend got the tacos and they were huge! The tacos were pretty good! No complaints there. He got hushpuppies too and got a side of the house sauce. Overall, I think I'd rather try another local restaurant next time.

The guy at the register was friendly, answered all our questions with a smile and knew all the answers, like sauce info, portion sizes, etc. we ordered the Loaded Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. I could have had these for my entree and be happy, they were so delicious! The perfect combination of tanginess from the tomatoes with the Wharf sauce, feta cheese, bacon, and chives. I was a little bummed that they did not have enough grits for a grits bowl, just enough for a couple of sides, so I changed my mind to the Honey Pecan Shrimp (fried) and I am glad I did. Spouse got the Wharf Shrimp (grilled). The shrimp and hush puppies were really great tasting! The grits were okay, but needed a little salt. The cashier at the register was also the person bussing tables, and he was serving food, and was the bartender as well. He was staying busy! The inside is decorated nicely and was clean.

September 20, 2020…read more Never thought of traveling but my heart convinced me otherwise. Explored around Burlington coat factory to get some things. We got hungry and decided to go to the food court. Not much was open but I happened to noticed this little joint and thought "hey.. let's try this out!" They will say it's gonna take 15-20 minutes but let me assure you.. it will take at LEAST a good FULL HOUR before your order gets out. Do not believe them if they say it's gonna take 15 minutes unless you multiply it by four. So when you decide to come here. Make sure you have your time planned out! Here is what I recommend.. Do not come here hungry or you will be hANGRY! [Its okay to have a snack ready to much on.] 1. Take your order. 2. Then go have fun window shopping around the mall and set an alarm an hour from the time you have ordered. 3. Once your alarm has gone off or you have noticed that an hour has passed. Patiently walk your hungry self over to see if your order is ready. Ask them what is available because most of their dishes are not there anymore. It's a bit pricey because.. you know... it's seafood! The wait might just be worth it? Ehh.. yeah, just might be haha. We received the order about an hour and fifteen minutes after paying. There was so much food! We thought we wouldn't be able to finish it all but we killed it! They put the perfect amount of flavor into their dishes! I was amazing how good it was! No condiments necessary. Tastes better than most "fancy" restaurants I've gone to. This spot has given me a whole new standard of how seafood is suppose to taste like. Oh but make sure to bring your own wet naps because your hands just might get messy! Service! The workers are nice and it seems like they are all friends or family within but I just wish they didn't lie about how long it would take for the food to come out. Also make it clear when asked what they have. Make it simple and say YES or NO. Do not confuse me with explanations please! "Do you have tartar sauce?" "Yes or sorry we do not have tarter sauce." Do not say " Oh we have hot sauce and ketchup if you like and we will be making tartar sauce soon" The food is delicious! It amazed me! Just be honest about the time and what you actually have. Sorry for the rant but I have to make this clear so it does not happen to any of your other hungry customers. Looking forward to coming back here to enjoy the food next time I visit this lovely state!

We ordered the guacamole dip thinking it was the one on the menu, for $4.99, but it ended up being the $8.99 bowl that we could not find on the extensive menu. I had Ñoquis Gratinados with steak. it was good, the steak was okay, but would have preferred all the cuts of meat be the same size, and bite sized. Spouse had the Churrasco a lo Pobre, a taco, and a tamale. The taco was good. The tamale, although large in size did not have much pork in it. The meat on the churrasco a lo pobre plate was really tough, unless you really like to chew, and chew, and chew, think twice about ordering the churrasco a lo pobre plate. If you do order it, bring your dental floss. Although we spoke to the waiter about the tough meat, and the waiter admitted he tried cutting the meat and it was tough. After that, there was no attempt to replace the meat with a more tender piece nor was my spouse asked if he wanted to try a different dish. When paying for the meal, there was no discount offered for the tough meat on the plate. The eggs on the plate were also kind of over cooked and brown and crispy around the edges. Customer service is lacking. Unfortunately for the restaurant, we will not be patrons.
