It's a quaint little restaurant atmosphere is like being down on French Quarter. It has a touch of Vietnamese in it but 85 to 90% of its cajun food, authentic Cajun food and as for the pork egg rolls that are Vietnamese they were fantastic. Shrimp boy was great. I was excited to go here first time.I had vietnamese and cajun fusion. The gentleman I spoke to when I came in, was very polite.Very helpful gave me a free sample of the seafood gum.I loved it. I got the steamed boudin. Excellent. My meal was completely ruined when I blonde lady with glasses came out and was very nasty to me. The pork egg roll was amazing. Food was delicious! I enjoyed the gumbo and the egg rolls. Next time I'll order the spring rolls. I also gave in to the coconut pie from Rolen's, a popular local bakery. This pie brought back memories of my favorite childhood dessert. Although the staff takes the orders at the counter, they deliver the food to the tables, fresh from the kitchen. This is a small little restaurant that specializes in Vietnamese and Cajun food. Yes that's right I'm not mistaken. The owner is Vietnamese and grew up in Louisiana. It's not fusion thought I suggested this could be a great combo with crawfish spring rolls as a draw. The spring rolls were fresh with local costal shrimp. The boil flavor was delicious and the shrimp were big. The etouffee was creamy with a mild heat. The best part of this little place is the people! Both sets of parents were at the restaurant helping out. The mother and father in law were wondering about offering drink refills, clearing tables and captivating customers with good old fashioned Southern small talk. Hidden Gem of the Wiregrass! Great Food in a Great Family Restaurant! We dined on 11-22-23 and had a terrific meal of Crawfish Etouffee w/rice. Nice slow & easy heat in the etouffee sauce that went perfectly with a nice hot piece of garlic bread. My wife had the Low Country shrimp boil. Sweet shrimp, andouille, potatoes, and corn. Spot on. We also had an order of fresh shrimp spring rolls and fried egg pork egg rolls. The spring rolls are a kind of Vietnamese hand roll. Terrific in the peanut dipping sauce. The pork egg rolls were tasty & crispy. Both were great & I recommend starting any meal there with an order of both. We also had pork fried rice. All of the food was great & the proprietor (Chico) & his "staff", his wife and mother, could not have been any more welcoming. We happily support Positive, Welcoming, Family-Oriented LOCAL businesses. This does NOT describe all local businesses, but it is a very accurate description of this Hidden Gem. I'm in town for work and we got to the hotel kind of late. Amazin' Cajun closed at 7PM so I didn't think I was going to make it before the closed so I started waking to Chick-fil-a. As I walked past Amazin' Cajun at 704 the Open light out front was still on so I took a detour. As I walked up to the front door someone was about to turn off the Open sign. They told me to come in anyways. I asked if he was sure and he said absolutely. I walked up to the counter and there was a table of what seemed like regulars ranting and raving about every item on the menu. Since I got there after close they already ran out of some things. I ended up going with 16oz Gumbo, their last Egg roll and a corn on the cob. The egg roll is not a normal egg roll. I think it's a sausage link wrapped in pastry and deep fried. The regulars told me I had to get an egg roll to dunk it in the gumbo so that's what I did. It was pretty good. The gumbo container had rice on the bottom so make sure you stir it up well before you dig in or you'll be left with a bunch of rice after the gumbo's gone. The gumbo was pretty good. It was a little spicy but nothing out of control. The corn on the cob was excellent. I think it sits in a tin of butter so how could it be bad. When they pull it out of the butter they throw a dash of Cajun seasoning on it to give it some kick. I don't make it to Dothan often but Next time I'm in town I'll have to try the Shrimp Boil. read more

AMAZING I was on a road trip with my friend down to FL when I realized that we were in Alabama--I had never been to AL before, and needed to eat the local food to check it off my 50 state list. THIS WAS A GREAT DECISION. PERIOD. My catfish and shrimp were perfect, the sweet tea is authentic and DELICIOUS, and the rice and beans are to die for. We are traveling to Florida from Wisconsin staying overnight in Dothan. Amazin' Cajun was absolutely delicious! The gentleman who helped us explained the different dishes and let us sample some of his shrimp gumbo, which was amazing - and resulted in us ordering a bowl! We try to support locally owned businesses, so we were happy to be greeted by the sweetest people who offered a free sample of gumbo and explained everything on the menu. Our food was fresh and beautifully prepared. Each bite was full of flavor with a little bit of spicy, but not too much.
