We were heading out of town and stopped by this cute little coffee place in downtown Dothan. We were there around 11 AM on a Monday and found it to be pretty steady. We were in somewhat of a time crunch, so kept it simple with a chai tea latte, hot and a simple cup of black coffee. We also opted for two raspberry vanilla scones. The regular black coffee was good and we love that the barista asked if she needed to leave enough room for cream. We often don't see that at other coffee houses. The chai tea latte was good as well. A little lighter in flavor compared to other chai teas I've had but I appreciated the change. As far as the raspberry vanilla scones went, while I found it delicious in flavor and love that it was a little crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside, My husband would've preferred for it to be a little bit softer all around. All in all, this was a very cute coffee house and somewhere we would definitely go back to again read more

I loved everything about this cute coffee shop. Located in the heart of downtown, this place has that rustic charm. Exposed bricks and two large sky lights make the space feel warm. The coffee here is delicious. I had an iced white chocolate mocha with less sweetener and no whip cream. It was delicious. I also got an Ethiopian coffee to go. The baristas here were friendly and knowledgeable. The price is fair for what you get. The blueberry muffin I had was decent. Moist and lots of blueberries. It had a lot of sugar on top. One of the best and newest coffeeshop closest to Fort Rucker. It is located at Downtown Dothan and there are different shopping stores. Workers are very friendly, the shop is very clean and they do have a small store that you can buy trinkets and home designs. What a beautiful place to visit. The Ethiopian Kossa Kabana was very satisfying. What I found extremely interesting was how each sip increased in palate pleasure until your cup is empty. I stopped here while traveling through Dothan recently. The city's downtown is more charming and bustling than I expected. Parking in the area is problematic -- I passed up another coffee shop after circling several times and being unable to find a spot -- but I lucked into a space right in front of Bird & Bean. The atmosphere was good; so were the items I ordered: coffee and a scone. I must say that the young woman taking orders and running the cash register was the most personable coffee shop employee I've ever encountered! The young man also working that day was efficient and friendly, too, but I did not have as much interaction with him. I mention all this because good, customer-centric employees are key to the success of this kind of business, and deserve a shout-out whenever possible. I couldn't stay long so there's not much else I can say. I noted that there is an adjoining business -- a gift shop? -- and that apparently the same person owns both. I hope the owner sees this review and knows that she is to be commended for her great staff hires! So far I have been to two coffee shops in Dothan, this one and Dakota Coffee Works. I liked both of them. I would like to visit Mural City Coffee next time I pass through (this is the one I couldn't find parking for). And I'll definitely return to Bird & Bean next chance I get. Stepping into this place feels like stepping into a dream. I always want to stay there all day. The baristas are so funny and treat you like an old friend. The layout feels somehow cozy yet nice and open, and the decor is a beautiful vintage brick and wood look that feels like coming home. For all its rustic side, though, the place feels abundantly clean, tidy, and well-kept. There's all the attention in the details. Speaking of details. . . THEIR DRINKS. They love and strive for quality above all else! Everyone I know says no coffee is as good as Bird & Bean. I have been around and can confidently say this is the best coffee I've had in the U.S. and on par with the best coffee I've had in Japan and Italy. They have so much variety, too! If you're not into coffee, they have so many teas, smoothies, Italian sodas, milkshakes, and more. . . I can't even wrap my head around it. As if that wasn't enough, their baked goods are all homemade! They're 100% hit and 0% miss and pair so well with the drinks. There are only one or two coffee shops here in Dothan that I can study at...so I'm so glad this place opened up! They sell great coffee with great variety. They have lots of tables to study at, outlets at some areas, and free wifi! I love the rustic atmosphere/decorations and they also have the cutest little shop next door! (everything is quite expensive in the shop tho..) Anyways, this place is always packed with ACOM students so you know its a great place to grab that cup of coffee and get your study grind on! read more

Went to visit Bird & Bean Coffee House for the first time while visiting Dothan. Upon entering the establishment you feel like you've just stepped into a very relaxing welcoming environment. As I entered the place was filled with clients sipping their coffee and teas along the tables against the wall. Some working away on the computers, others sitting with friends. I was instantly greeted by the employees. I decided to try a Bird & Bean Mocha over ice. I wouldn't say I'm picky with coffee, I'm rather adventurous and love to try new things but I don't love everything. I LOVED the Bird & Bean Mocha. They balanced the sweetness well with the coffee, so many mochas are too sweet. I got a White Chocolate Mocha, hot, for my husband and it was BEAUTIFULLY presented. The store looked decorated professionally and it smelled incredible. I see why this cafe is rated 5 stars. I support this rating. The only thing I wasn't amazed at was my muffin was dry so the top half of it crumbled at touch. The bottom half of it where the blueberries were was great!! Baked goods are temperamental so I'm not knocking them off for that. They are a MUST visit and we will be back next month when we're in Dothan again! read more
