I checked out the menu and was so excited to come here. When we got there we waited to get in, the gentleman was too busy in conversation. Finally get to the table. Meanwhile, I ordered our drinks which took forever and our appetizers. I waited and ordered the entrees. There were 6 other tables, and our steak came out meanwhile what happened to the appetizer? The location and vibes of this place are very cool, it's unfortunate that you can smell sewage gas throughout the entire building. It was very off putting while trying to have dinner. I recommend the cacio e Pepe to my sister in law and have never in my life seen a cacio e Pepe that looked or tasted like what she was served. It was foul. Honestly it tasted like overcooked pasta smothered in cheap ragu brand alfredo sauce. Her main course was chicken and she said it was fine but it was floating in that same sauce so I think she was just being polite.. I could tell my tuna was previously frozen and there was no flavor or seasoning. My husband ordered a steak, but it was severely overcooked. The Brussels sprout were smothered in way too much balsamic. On a positive note, the wine list was nice. The cocktails were poured a little heavy handed but overall ok. If I could rate this place with zero stars, I would. My boyfriend and I went with two friends on yesterday for Valentine's Day. The night started great with our server Christina, but as the night progressed, we could tell her demeanor was changing. When it was time to pay, our bill came out to $500. We paid our tabs, and I put $0 for the tip on the receipt because we wanted to leave a tip in cash instead. My boyfriend went to the car to get more cash for the tip. At this point, Christina began repeatedly saying, "Ma'am, gratuity wasn't included in the total." She said this about four or five times. After checking out the last person in our party, she comes over to my friend and I as we're standing by our table waiting on my boyfriend to come back, and she proceeds to say "That was rude as hell to not leave a tip. This is how I make my living. If you cannot afford to eat at places like this, then just don't come." At this point, I feel like she was being very rude especially making comments as such. She assumed we were not leaving a tip because I didn't leave it on the receipt. I will never return to this place again because you do not treat customers like that. Expectations going in we're high based on the fact that when we made the reservation I told them that it was our anniversary and they said we would have presecco waiting for us. Not only was there no presecco waiting for us but the fact that I told them it was our anniversary did absolutely nothing. Didn't even say happy anniversary to us. The service was sub par and had some extreme moments. For a "fine dining" establishment I expect my wine/champagne to be refilled. This did not happen once. My entree required a knife that I had to specifically ask for and never received. They brought my our dessert without clearing our entree and when I mentioned that I was finished with my entree they just walked away and left the plate there. For the food. It was not the worst food but far far from the best. The side salad was old brown lettuce, the sausage in my pasta was chewy and cooked poorly and the cheesecake we ordered had ice crystals in it as if it was frozen. The decor was nice, the atmosphere was nice but thats about where the good experience ended. They were short staffed so the service fell way short, and had to ask multiple times for basics like refills and extra menus. After we finally got our food after more than a 45 minute wait we were even more disappointed. Their filet minon was dry, chewy and way overcooked for a "medium" done steak. The lasagna was no better, had better from the frozen food section at Walmart. Overall the food was poor quality, service was lazy, and prices were too high for the overall experience. This place was amazing! Took my fiancé there for our 2 year anniversary and it was worth it. They didn't have the dozen roses for the package I ordered so they gave us a bottle of wine on the house. The wine was amazing found my new favorite wine there along with the food and the service. I highly recommend the steak top 5 best steaks I've had. This was our second visit with a group. Both times we had 8-10 people. The first time, service was a little slow, but not terrible. The food was good and we enjoyed our experience. The second time, this past weekend, the service was horrid. When we complained about it the staff was rude and defensive. One waitress actually called me "Love" after arguing about the wait time. The food was good, but the negativity of the experience downplayed any of that. It was a 3hour nightmare that just got worse as the night went on. There is a definite lack in a more upscale dining experience in Dothan. Bella's is trying to fill that void. When you first walk into Bella's on a quiet night it may be a little confusing. There wasn't anyone at the hostess stand to greet me but no big deal. I found my way to the main dining area and sat at the bar since I was by myself. I met Courtney and Nina who were working the floor tonight. They were both extremely helpful and as nice as they could be. I took their suggestions when it came to wine and my meal. They were spot on. I knew I came to the right place when I saw Caymus behind the bar. For my meal I had a Caesar salad, lasagna, Creme Brûlée and a glass of wine. All of it was excellent. The restrooms are so terrible they have one naked light bulb hanging from the ceiling. I have seen cleaning restrooms in 3rd world countries. The food was Luke warm at best and everything tasted packaged or canned. Our waiter was pulled for a " special party" and were put with a 2nd waiter who did not have time for us at all. No refills, unable to ask questions about the special dinner package my husband bought for our 24th anniversary. We had to ask 4 times for the bill. We found a roach in our salad. Bella's would be great for date nights, but there are roaches. If a restaurant does not have the commonality to spray for pests, what else are they neglecting? Again, I think the ambiance is the best in Dothan for date nights, but roaches aren't really romantic. I got the fried calamari and was thoroughly enjoying it, but then could not eat after we found it in the salad. This is a recurring problem I hear from other people as well. I really do hope they fix this because the food and atmosphere are top 5 in Dothan. The price is alright for being upscale as well. Great atmosphere. Prices are adequate for the fare. Steak was grilled with skill. We had medium rare. Decent wine selection. We had a bottle of Caymus that was priced standardly.
