Kaya's Kitchen has been serving delicious plant-based cuisine in Belmar for 19 years now (BTW, eatery named after owner's child was born). They obviously are doing something right. We first ate at Kaya's when this eatery was in another (smaller) location a few blocks away. We have been back a number of times over the years and always have been very pleased with the food. The only reason we do not dine here more often is that we are not vegans or vegetarians. But guess what? You do not need red meat or white meat or seafood for protein. Seitan, tempeh, tofu, lentils, beans, etc. can provide plenty of protein. Kaya's does a lot of take-out orders as well as dine-in. If you choose to dine in, you may want to bring your own bottle of wine. The ambiance is pleasant, cosy. Last evening, Tess was our friendly and very attentive server. We started with BBQ Seitan ribs, $13, yummy and such a big portion. Then, for entrees we had 3 tacos with ground tempeh, $16. and Garlic Sesame Sensation, $21 plus $3 to add tempeh. Everything very delicious and so much food that we had to take some home and had no room for dessert. Go once and I will bet that you will return.

Been wanting to try Kaya's Kitchen for a while and went with a friend that has vegan and gluten free dietary preferences. I didn't love the food especially for the price point. We tried the Buffalo soldier wings and the coconut curry rice. It wasn't bad and tasted home cooked. Neither dishes were super inventive and could have been made at home... it was too home cooked tasting. Sandwich or burger options might be better, would try again. The people that worked there were friendly. The people next to us got the Turkish Delight platter and that looked amazing. The interior was a bit tired looking. Update- my friend and I got a touch of food poisoning from this food. Tho it didn't taste off at the time.

This oyster po boy sandwich was 100000% AMAZING! Definitely the best vegan oyster po boy sandwich I ever had- super filling and the mushrooms were crunch but not too hard! Flavor was amazing! Only reason why I gave this meal 4 stars is bc the size of potato salad was OK- nothing great but was pretty decent. Can't wait to come back and try other things! And prices are reasonable!

My food was delicious if maybe a little too spicy for me but I took it home and finished the rest later. The staff was very quick and kind and accommodating. The whole vibe of the restaurant was homey and cozy and they were definitely busy but I don't think we had to wait long for our food to arrive.

Food was very good, but lunchtime selections were really slim and limited. Would like to try for dinner.

Off-season, it's earmuffs and a blanket and invigorating vitamin sea! Highly recommend their Italian sub, chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms and chicken parmesan sandwiches. All are homemade with love. My husband is vegan, as is the warm and friendly owner, Amy, so he can eat the delicious vegetable soup made by Amy's husband, Chef Joe, or her delectable eggplant meatballs. A perfect easy lunch, these are really nice local people putting out tasty quality food in a great little beach town.

A very cute little spot with some seating outside to wait or eat if you'd like. The inside has all of your Joe's chips and drinks (Joe's has my heart). The cashier, didn't get to catch her name, was SO friendly and informative. We ordered a long hoagie and let them do their thing. Now, I'm used to the normal on my hoagie (mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.), but there wasn't any condiments on it or cheese. So make sure you run down your preferred way. Anywho, that bread? Amazing! A lil low on the turkey but not a huge deal. The price, it's up there lol but worth it. Josie's I'll see you soon!

We ordered the honey vanilla pecan stuffed French toast, the lemon blueberry stuffed French toast, and the Bavarian cream stuffed French toast. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. This place is located on the corner and parking appears to be street parking only. I stopped by around 11:30 and was able to be seated immediately. They have bar seating which is first come first serve as well as tables throughout. Bar seating was much quicker. After about 5 mins my waitress came and took my order. Challah French Toast, Homefries and Bacon. 15/20 minutes go by and my food came. The Homefries are a good portion. They are seasoned well. The bacon was warm and crispy as well. The challah French toast was delicious. I enjoyed my meal overall. Overall this is a good place that met my expectations. The food was as expected and the portion size was good as well. They do charge a fee for using your card as shown on my receipt. A tad bit tacky to me but I understand.

When I walked into the restaurant, there were 6 people standing ahead of us at the hostess stand. Tables were emptying out but no one even acknowledged our existence for - no exaggeration- 15 minutes. We made conversation with the people around us that it was almost comical that no one even said they'd be with us in a moment. It was odd and we almost left and walked to The Buttered Biscuit down the street, but we stuck it out. Once we were seated we were given a tiny placard to scan the menu with our phones. Service after being seated was surprisingly consistent after our long wait time to be seated with no acknowledgment from staff. I have a gluten allergy and the online menu did not have specific information showing what was GF or GFA. When I asked the sever about it she rattled off some GF options but of course I couldn't remember all of them, having them marked on the menu would be so helpful. I ordered the Birria Omelette but chose to have the tortilla strips on the side since they were in a shared fryer. The dressing for the side salad was light and tangy. The omelette was supposed to be French style but wasn't creamy in the middle. Birria meat was tender and kind of overwhelmed the overall taste of the omelette. I also had an iced decaf mocha latte and it was good, not too sweet and pretty much coffee flavored chocolate milk. My dining companion had the classic French toast, which looked delicious and he really enjoyed it but I didn't taste it because "gluten." Ambiance is really nice, tables are well spaced and the restaurant is well decorated. Not sure if I'll be back but glad I tried it!
