Kaya's Kitchen has been serving delicious plant-based cuisine in Belmar for 19 years now (BTW, eatery named after owner's child was born). They obviously are doing something right. We first ate at Kaya's when this eatery was in another (smaller) location a few blocks away. We have been back a number of times over the years and always have been very pleased with the food. The only reason we do not dine here more often is that we are not vegans or vegetarians. But guess what? You do not need red meat or white meat or seafood for protein. Seitan, tempeh, tofu, lentils, beans, etc. can provide plenty of protein. Kaya's does a lot of take-out orders as well as dine-in. If you choose to dine in, you may want to bring your own bottle of wine. The ambiance is pleasant, cosy. Last evening, Tess was our friendly and very attentive server. We started with BBQ Seitan ribs, $13, yummy and such a big portion. Then, for entrees we had 3 tacos with ground tempeh, $16. and Garlic Sesame Sensation, $21 plus $3 to add tempeh. Everything very delicious and so much food that we had to take some home and had no room for dessert. Go once and I will bet that you will return.

Been wanting to try Kaya's Kitchen for a while and went with a friend that has vegan and gluten free dietary preferences. I didn't love the food especially for the price point. We tried the Buffalo soldier wings and the coconut curry rice. It wasn't bad and tasted home cooked. Neither dishes were super inventive and could have been made at home... it was too home cooked tasting. Sandwich or burger options might be better, would try again. The people that worked there were friendly. The people next to us got the Turkish Delight platter and that looked amazing. The interior was a bit tired looking. Update- my friend and I got a touch of food poisoning from this food. Tho it didn't taste off at the time.

This oyster po boy sandwich was 100000% AMAZING! Definitely the best vegan oyster po boy sandwich I ever had- super filling and the mushrooms were crunch but not too hard! Flavor was amazing! Only reason why I gave this meal 4 stars is bc the size of potato salad was OK- nothing great but was pretty decent. Can't wait to come back and try other things! And prices are reasonable!

My food was delicious if maybe a little too spicy for me but I took it home and finished the rest later. The staff was very quick and kind and accommodating. The whole vibe of the restaurant was homey and cozy and they were definitely busy but I don't think we had to wait long for our food to arrive.

Staff is exceptionally sweet & food is great- just have to order the right things. Really cute indoor vibe too! I brought 4 of my meat eating friends here and they loved it- buffalo cauliflower wings were bomb, oyster mushroom hoagie exceptional, tacos to die for, & impossible burger so so good. I got the quesadillas and i didnt like how cheesy/ soggy they were personally! Would definitely return to try other menu items everything looks soo good!! also SO affordable!

Carrot Cake- very vegan and very good!

Viva Las Vegan! ;) Solid vegan food. I came here with 8 family members and an old neighbor who is vegetarian. She was fine with going anywhere as long as no red meat was on the menu but most places in the area only offer a couple vegetarian options. This spot's menu was exclusively vegan and huge! We started off with "Turkish Delight" and "Kaya's Combo" which were both very sharable. We were quite impressed with both. The Turkish delight came with Mediterranean faves of hummus, falafel, babaganoush, tabouleh, olives, cumin pita, and a tahini sauce while Kaya's Combo had plenty of tofu "chicken" nuggets, tempeh buffalo wings, seitan ribs, potato salad, and dipping sauces. For my entree, I loved my Pesto Eggplant sandwich which arrived with crunchy fried and breaded eggplant topped with red peppers, basil pesto, and other yummy toppings on a pretzel bun (choose this bread if given the option). For dessert, their carrot cake is the one to get! With such a great experience vegging out, this is just the veganning! ;) NOTES/TIPS: **BYOB, huge space, lots of tables. Menu has definitions of vegan, seitan, and other terms. **My kids really enjoyed their lemonade which was mildly sweet **Changing table in the women's bathroom **Angled parking and street parking available nearby

Visited Cave Bistro off the recommendation of a friend, and also DDD (iykyk)…read more I've frequented many DDD Restaurant's in the past, and they always seem to be very crowded. So just to be safe, I did make a reservation right when the restaurant opened. Seems to say I played it a bit too safe, I was the only one i there for the first 20-min.! In any case, then dining area was very bright and open, and I was seated near the window, which I enjoyed. I tried three foods, appetizer-entree-dessert, here's the breakdown: 1) Appetizer: Pan Roasted Achiote Octopus ($22) which has Shaved Pickled Carrots & Onions, Chermoula. For 1 person, this was quite substantial and a delicious start to the meal. The octopus wasn't tough, it was cooked perfectly, with a nice char-grilled flavour. Paired up with the accoutrements, it was a 10/10 way to begin my meal! 2) Entree: Grass-Fed Beef-Roasted Marrow Burger ($26) which has Raclette Cheese, Caramelized Onion-Tomato Jam, Fresh Baked Gluten Free Brioche Bun, & Beef Tallow Fries. Why 4-stars? Because of this item. The day I arrived the restaurant was trying their new "Baked Gluten-Free Brioche" on me, apparently I was one of the first --- the bread was dry AF, lol! I loved the burger --- the marrow taste, the raclette cheese --- I sing their praises, but wrong day to test out the "test bread"! It ended up on a Yelp Review. Hopefully the bread-recipe has been improved on after this review. PS: The onion-tomato jam perfectly pairs with the richness of the marrow burger. 3) Lastly, I ordered for dessert the bread pudding. They don't put their desserts on the menu, but if you ask the server they will let you know what the restaurant has for the day. I believe it's seasonal as well. It was average at best, good ---- but didn't stand-out. Overall, I'd totally recommend a stop-by if you're in the area! It's always awesome visiting these sites features on DDD, and tasting for yourself the hype behind their food!

Bone marrow burger was juicy and satisfying and the octopus was unbelievably tender. Special that night was yellow fin tuna-also melt in your mouth delicious. Planning on a return trip to eat all the small plates and give the spring lamb bolognese with whipped ricotta on rigatoni a try. Unpretentious relaxing vibe, small space and service with a smile.

It was so good that I would have returned back the very next day. We walked in and we're seated immediately with our reservation, and the experience only went up from there. There are plenty of staff around to make sure that you have everything you need without seeming to be too much. It's a cozy space, nothing super fancy, but really that's all you need sometimes in a neighborhood Italian joint. Everyone at my table raved about their food from the pasta Arrabiata, to the veal special to what I had which was the crab pasta. There was so much crab and the sauce was so light. When I walked into the restaurant, there were 6 people standing ahead of us at the hostess stand. Tables were emptying out but no one even acknowledged our existence for - no exaggeration- 15 minutes. We made conversation with the people around us that it was almost comical that no one even said they'd be with us in a moment. It was odd and we almost left and walked to The Buttered Biscuit down the street, but we stuck it out. Once we were seated we were given a tiny placard to scan the menu with our phones. Service after being seated was surprisingly consistent after our long wait time to be seated with no acknowledgment from staff. I have a gluten allergy and the online menu did not have specific information showing what was GF or GFA. When I asked the sever about it she rattled off some GF options but of course I couldn't remember all of them, having them marked on the menu would be so helpful. I ordered the Birria Omelette but chose to have the tortilla strips on the side since they were in a shared fryer. The dressing for the side salad was light and tangy. The omelette was supposed to be French style but wasn't creamy in the middle. Birria meat was tender and kind of overwhelmed the overall taste of the omelette. I also had an iced decaf mocha latte and it was good, not too sweet and pretty much coffee flavored chocolate milk. My dining companion had the classic French toast, which looked delicious and he really enjoyed it but I didn't taste it because "gluten." Ambiance is really nice, tables are well spaced and the restaurant is well decorated. Not sure if I'll be back but glad I tried it!
