So my go tos were closed so I tried this place. I did not find their website helpful. Cute shop, well stocked and friendly staff. Parking was easy on a Tuesday afternoon. Cupcakes were cute and decorated well. Since they opened at noon, I thought the cupcakes would be made in AM. Apparently not. Purchased several flavors (chocolate, salted caramel, Boston cream pie, Belmar, unicorn) and all got the same reaction, dry cake, not fresh, flavor underwhelming. I'm disappointed because 1. I buy them by the 6 pack and once they are packed in ,the toppings get stuck to each other. stuck toppings and deep cups make them hard to remove when you get home without damaging them,but awesome cupcakes . Sweet is a delightful bakery in Belmar, located right off Main Street. They have tons of yummy baked good options as well as different offerings of homemade chocolate, fudge, taffy and popular brands of candy. I love their cupcakes! They are baked to perfection. The cake is always very moist and the frosting very sweet (hence their name!) but not overly sweet so it's not going to drive you into a sugar rush. The cupcakes are carefully crafted with edible creations that will catch your eye! I've also tried their cheesecake and it was honestly one of the best cheesecakes I've had! So rich and all the flavors blended fantastically. The owners are so sweet (hey, I sense a nice pattern here!) and really appreciate the local business. They are very great at understanding the needs of their customers and offer several different payment options (including Venmo!) which had me very impressed. Updating my review! Sweet went from a 4 to a 5! Went in to get some cupcakes for kids we were visiting and they made a plain chocolate frosted cupcake look amazing on the spot. Cupcakes are still delicious and wonderfully decorated. The extra care of customer service is much appreciated! Also had a sea salt caramel - hit the spot. Went here for the first time today and I loved it! Adorable little shop with such a large selection of treats! The cupcakes were incredible (my fave was churro), and the stuffed chocolated covered pretzels were made for me (I lovedddd the dark chocolate peanut butter). And apparently they deliver and ship and make custom cakes! I will be back. read more

Am I missing something? We got cupcakes here for my birthday and there was nothing good about them. They were top heavy from the sweet frosting and the cake was just "eh." Coming from living in the city, I do have high expectations but I can appreciate even cupcakes from Wegmans at times. The cookies were even worse. We tried the chocolate chip and sugar cookies. Cupcakes! Yes I am a fan! Stopped by here on a whim because we parked in the public area and I saw the store. It's so cute inside, the staff was really helpful, so helpful that I my will was weak and the 2 cupcakes became 6. LOL- I'm not complaining at all. It's so hard to find good quality cupcakes that are as delicious as they are beautiful. The frosting here is so good you actually eat it and not scrape it off like "some frosting" that are sickly sweet. How do I eat my cupcakes, I pull them apart in the middle cake part and place that unfrosted cake portion on top of the frosting and kinda squish it together. That way I get cake and frosting in every bite and I can enjoy it rather then trying to shove it into my mouth. Who am I kidding, I still shove it into my mouth, I just look more dainty doing it. HA! I've been meaning to update my review for Sweet bakery for some time. It definitely deserves 5 stars! I found this gem in Belmar around four months ago, and I've been a loyal customer ever since. I have over 100 reviews on yelp. I'm a true foodie and the biggest dessert lover. I've been to every bakery in Belmar, Asbury Park, Red Bank , and East Brunswick. Sweet reigns as BEST bakery I have ever been too in NJ. They have the best cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies I ever had in this whole state! Their buttercream frosting is outrageous! Their cream cheese frosting is top notch! Everything has been very fresh every single time I went. One bite into their delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies makes my 40 minute drive worth the trip! Yes, I drive 40 minutes to this bakery just to buy their amazing cupcakes and cookies. I been coming on a weekly basis ever since I found them. That should tell you how good this place is! They also make homemade chocolate, homemade fudge, chocolate covered cookie dough bon bons which are outrageous, fudge, chocolate covered Twinkie's and devil dogs, brownies, and cakes in a cup. They custom make cakes for weddings, bridal showers, and birthdays. They do an excellent job for custom cakes. The owner is the sweetest and it's family operated. The owner and her husband and daughter are always on site. All the sweetest people! Alot of what you're saying on this reply is false but I won't be spending the hours you did with this update. My intention with my review was to provide feedback and constructive criticism not to upset you enough to write 6 paragraphs with details and names and locations which in my opinion, reflects alot on you and your business. Bottom line is it requires exceptional customer service to follow up with a customer that you have not heard from that spent an hour and a half to reach your bakery. Unfortunately, it wasn't important enough. I wasn't expecting to be "chased" but rather followed up on. It is called common courtesy which alot of places lack now days...businesses don't provide that personal touch anymore. Chocolate Carousel appt was AFTER yours and during the week which did not work for me and so your location was an alternative not my first choice or option. Regardless, my review is in reference to customer service...and being that Chocolate Carousel came through for me on a bind due to all this on the same day, they exhibit STELLAR customer service and consideration that your business lacks. I don't even know where to start!!! We stopped in after the beach yesterday to get dessert for a dinner bbq. First of all we were greeted by the wonderful owners who were open to our questions and friendly conversation. We walked out with these delightful little cheesecake bites it tons of different flavors...then we moved onto cupcakes. Everyone was oohing and aaahing over each flavor. So you are vacay-ing at Ocean Grove, but it rains cats and dogs one day (which would have actually made up for the grayness, now that I think about it) but unfortunately, it wasn't the case, as no cats and dogs fell out of the sky. You grab the keys and head south since you've done the Asbury scene and bought the shirts with a dozen sides of fries from the boardwalk arcade and Anchor Bend and sweets from Betty's Ice Box plus coffee from Asbury Roasters, America's Cup, DJ's, even Day's, and fresh coconut drinks right out of their shell from a boardwalk bar, and you end up at a sweet place--what else do you do really, especially if you have a sweet tooth?? Turns out this teeny storefront is a Honeydukes inside a Harry Potter magical tent, filled with all kinds of sweets from all its four corners all the way to the door. From straight-up sugar candy and chocolate, and every possible combination in between and besides, from home-made chocolate varieties to pre-packed choc-covered swedish fish, doritos, (which tasted like choco-covered doritos, interestingly) and frozen bananas, and cookies and cupcakes and... Cakes made to order, of course. Last word: I just think that the chocolates, which we got an assortment of, tasted a tad too sweet, sweeter than the choco nuts, dark and milk choco malt/pb malt balls, even choco caramels you get at Betty's Ice Box at the Asbury Pavillion. Or it's just my discriminating taste buds, and I know how unwise it is to discriminate, esp. these days.... Try them yourself, if you haven't yet, and tell everyone what you think. I visited Belmar for the 1st time yesterday and stopped in here to satisfy a sweet tooth and grabbed a few pieces of salted caramel caramel that tasted like heaven, some peanut brittle and chocolate covered jellies. As I walked away I doubled back for the chocolate chip cookies and OMG!!! The owner told me they had just been made. There were warm, soft and tasted like God handmade them. I purchased a Groupon for $15 for $30 worth of goods. Such a great deal, with no annoying fine print. Just love that it was straightforward and Sweet honored it without having me go through hoops. The people that work here are very friendly. I don't like super close to Belmar (20 minute drive), but when I come, I'll make sure to make a stop at this bakery because there's such a wide variety of tasty treats.
