This place is super spotless. It smells delicious. The people are super nice. It's a very chill vibe and the flavors are ridiculously amazing strawberry Nutella, cannoli, birthday cake, cranberry chocolate chunk looks like it's almost sold out dolce la Leche raspberry chocolate chunk, rainbow, cookie, pistachio, Jersey Devil, Rocky Road and banana split and then there's a crumb cake ice cream that is called crumb, baby and of course the Jersey Devil they do have gluten-free ice cream cones and something for everybody and they also have the cookie chip witches many floats and shakes lots and lots of toppings they have Chocolate marshmallow caramel peanut butter, Nutella and whipped cream shell. They have coconut based vegan ice cream non-dairy and they also have Italian ice and ice cream, cones and Coney waffle ice cream cake or eat small batch ice cream and they make their own ice cream flavors that rotate that's amazing. Two of my friends and I have been coming to Belmar's beautiful beach for a day trip every summer for at least 2 decades, weather permitting. Most summers we get in 2 beach days. The itinerary is to start in Bergen County and drive to Belmar; stop for coffee before we park, buy our day passes and head to the beach. Relax and chat after setting up our chairs and umbrellas (if it's not too windy). Around 11 or so, a walk on the beach, then eat the lunches we brought. Around 2, 2:30 it's time for ice cream and walking the boardwalk. Used to love Tenth Street Freezeout, now gone, and last year we tried Coney for the first time. Great choice! On a recent Tuesday afternoon, we found friendly teens , the opportunity to sample a couple of possibilities, and some interesting flavors. One of us had a kiddie cup - oh, such restraint! - of a peanut butter swirl. The other two had a small cup, with 2 flavors. I had the raspberry chocolate chip, soooo good, and the really delicious lemon crunch. My other friend had the lemon also, with coffee chip. Cute little ice cream shop in the circle by the beach. It is a little pricey. My husband and I both got the smallest cup of ice cream and it still came out to around $14. Service was quick and we barely had to wait in line. We really loved the cinnamon bun flavor! read more

Maybe I got the wrong things? Don't know why all the great reviews. I ordered vanilla soft serve with hot chocolate and peanut butter sauce. It barely had any toppings on it. My boyfriend got a vanilla milkshake and it was very heavy on the milk taste versus ice cream. Just didn't think the actual ice cream was great either. This wasn't terrible it was just ok/average. It was also crowded and expensive. read more

Coney Waffle Cakery was awesome! I called and needed cake for the same day. Maria was able to accommodate me and complete it just one hour after opening! Their cakes are awesome creations and our kids love them! They've always provided great service and happy faces on our family! Coney waffle is delicious but all the ice cream has a very strong artificial sugar taste. I ordered the campfire and Cookie Monster and they were good but not the best I've had in the area. They have endless toppings and the price is very reasonable for the amount you get. Staff was very friendly. They have a lot of different ice cream options for every taste palette. Although you can't sample any of the flavors before you buy like most ice cream places so that is why I give this place 3 stars and not 4. read more

Tons of flavors to choose from! The staff was super friendly and even told us the top 3 flavors. Extremely colorful and bright within the store. I wish there was a table or two inside the store. There are a lot of tables outside though. I love that they offer a wide variety of toppings. It was so good that we went back for seconds the next day! My friend purchased two kinds of fudge. This was on the bucket list after seeing their "SideShow Shake" on a tv show "Food Paradise". It just looked so amazing and crazy that my grandmother and I decided we needed to make the trek to try it at least once. Parking was crazy, since it is summer (street parking, since the surrounding lots were full), but we were lucky enough to not wait in line since we got there in the first hour they were open. We ordered our Cyclone (mint chocolate chip) "SideShow" Shake and were told to grab a table outside and they would bring it out. We paid $21 for this monstrous creation and its cash only. Employees were super nice as well. Our Milkshake was topped with cotton candy, cookie ice cream sandwich, upside down ice cream cone, waffle ice cream sandwich, chocolate pretzel and numerous candy (candy bracelet, ring pop, and gummies). This treat needs to be split amongst multiple people because it needs to be disassembled and the heat ruins the ice cream (I.e. Melts) and cotton candy pretty quickly. There were 2 of us and we basically only ate the ice cream and part of the milkshake; we were given "to-go" bags/box for the cotton candy and other treats but the cotton candy hardened on the way to the car due to the heat. I wasn't super impressed with the milkshake though; it tasted pretty watered down in my opinion. It was fun to try once, but I think once was enough! Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been though! read more

New ice cream shop on the block alert! This shop sits on one end of the Asbury boardwalk, and I'm pretty sure it took over another ice cream shop from last season. I came in looking for their crazy sideshow shake, but was told it was a 30 oz milkshake anddd it was $18. Realistically if I hadn't already spent all day at the beach dropping cash on food anddd because I didn't want to give myself another 25 lbs to lug around, I decided to just get a cone. I have to say that the young lady behind the counter (she's actually pictured behind a sideshow shake pic) was SUPER awesome and nice. She asked great questions about what I wanted and gave extra large tasting spoons of ice cream (I could've filled up on those)! I opted for a salted chocolate pretzel ice cream on a chocolate dipped cone....and it was amazing. The pretzel pieces were all crunchy and perfectly sized (I hate when they are too small), and there was great tasting caramel in it, without being overpowering so you couldn't taste the rest of the flavors. The waffle cone was also delicious and fresh. Hubby and I split the cone as it was pretty large ($8 total btw), and he actually contemplated going back for another one when we finished. I highly recommend stopping, the shop is really clean and has plenty of outside seating to enjoy the ocean view as well. read more

Took a walk on the beach board walk from Ocean Grove to Asbury Park. Came upon Coney's Ice Cream shop. The line was out the door which I like because it means the company is doing great business. Fast and friendly service. Seating outside on the board walk. Coney has picnic benches you can use to enjoy your snack. Very clean inside and outside. Great atmosphere and a great crowd. read more

Always a fun spot for ice cream. The unique, "Instagrammable" offerings like tie dyed waffle cones and crazy milkshakes are the draw here, although you can still get a basic scoop of ice cream. This location now takes cards (for a long time, they didn't) so that's good. I think the menu is really overpriced compared to the other ice cream parlors in the area, and ice cream flavors are good but in my opinion weaker and not as creamy compared to other Jersey shore ice cream spots. However I like this place, I am a sucker for their neat ice cream creations and it's nice to have an ice cream spot that is walkable from your beach chair. read more

Wow this ice cream is so good! To be honest, my husband and I didn't know that this place was famous and had some buzzfeed and TV features on it for some of their over the top milkshakes and cones. We were at the beach for the day, wanted ice cream and found this place and were so happy we did. Immediately I noticed all the amazing flavors they had. It was so hard to choose what two flavors to get. I eventually settled on M&m explosion and rich and famous (cookie dough PLUS brownie bits with a cookie swirl!) we also decided to try their dipped waffle cones which made the whole cone that much better! The portion was huge, the ice cream was DELICIOUS and the price wasn't horrible considering you are at the shore on a boardwalk. We would both totally go back! read more

Where to even begin? It was a hot summer day, and while half the party had a swollen and sprained ankle, we made sure to visit the world famous Coney waffle. Immediately we were greeted by a lovely ATM who informed us that this was cash only! Didn't even matter! The smell of sweetness was enough to overcome any inconvenience of having to withdraw some ca$h Legit, this ice cream was the most magnificent thing since spread. I understood why the Ship's company newsletter called it "the only thing tastier than the beef ravioli MRE." I had the amazing unicorn flavor, and literally, it tasted like someone took rainbows and converted it into food. Just pure JOY. And don't even get me started on the cake batter flavor. The flavor "Cake batter with Salty caramel pretzel and I think like peanut butter s'mores" was honestly revolutionary. Fast service and fun flavors, the perfect treat during a summer beach day! This place is known for their crazy milkshakes and ice cream, which you can get in a cup, regular cone, or tie-dye waffle cone. We opted for waffle cones with two scoops each. I was really excited to try their "monster cookie" flavor, which is bright blue with chocolate and cookie bits swirled into it. Be careful though, it'll dye your teeth/tongue blue! This ice cream cone was $15, and it's not what I ordered. I just asked for a cone with some candies stuck in, but they tried to give me the whole shebang. I did like the ice cream flavors I got--lemon bar and unicorn power. The rainbow cookies and gummies were yummy as well. Customer service wasn't great. One girl was trying to help me I felt like, but the cashier seemed moody or annoyed by something. Don't feel a need to rush back. However, if I'd ever return, I'd want to try a cone with a cannoli, a brownie waffle, and the Batman Fudge and/or Boston Cream Pie ice cream flavors. read more

Overall review: I really enjoy this place ! Very good ice cream and a great location right in front of the beach. They have specialty shakes which run about $20 dollars, but it is good to split with somebody. Atmosphere: A great location right in front of the beach. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Food: The ice cream is excellent. There are so many flavors and toppings to pick from. Note: It is cash only, but they do have an ATM inside and there also is a 711 next store with a fee slightly cheaper. (Or at least last time I went it was) Final Thoughts: I would suggest going towards sunset or night time and taking your ice cream on the beach while you walk or seating up a blanket by the water. The ice cream melts very quickly when going there in the day time. read more

All about the "Side Show Shake," which will set you back $18. Huge poufs of cotton candy are laid atop a 40 oz milk shake (!) adorned with gummies, chocolate, marshmallows, sprinkles and candy necklaces. Wait, there's more - an ice cream cone and a freshly made waffle that is cinnamon-y and soft. Very instagrammable, indeed. That being said, there are no tables to sit at or a ledge to lay it on to capture the creation. How does this happen? Not sure, but while I was standing around trying to get a good shot lots of people came up to me wondering "what IS that?" One lady even remarked "that looks like diabetes." I just wanted to take some pics and shoot my trophy in peace. Play hooky from work one weekday to avoid the crowds to consume, worship and marvel in peace. Rename it "Main Stage Shake" or even "Smoke Show." The actual ice cream is a on par with other boardwalk places. Superman flavor was unique - tasted like Fruit Loops.
