We went on March 4th to get some some cake pops for some kid's friends and a couple of stuffed cupcakes for ourselves. The carrot cake SC was great, however the chocolate peanut butter SC was stale. So disappointing. We were afraid to ask our friends if the cake pops were stale as well. Hopefully not. So whenever I'm at work and need to go to the post office I enter the Chocolate Carousel in my gps because it's in the same plaza as the post office. If you ever try entering a USPS in a gps you will surely be more confused, at least I am. So I dropped my package at the post office. I sat in my car a minute and looked up to see CC staring at me. I swear I heard "Steve, come inside". But before I jumped to anything I said let me see what my always faithful Yelpers have to say ab this joint. Hmmmm, now after reading a bit I'm intrigued. I'll go in and take a little looksy, if nothing sparks my interest I'll leave never to return. Well I walked in and to my immediate left was a case full of cupcakes. They weren't huge nor were they tiny. They were a good size. I peaked around a bit more, some cookies and pastries and cakes. Typical bakery stuff. Now let me get back to those cupcakes. A worker came over and offered assistance. I asked which cupcake she recommends. She said the cannoli, but I already had my eye on the tri-color. I asked ab the tri-color. She said if you like the Tri-color cookies it's the same and even has apricot jam inside. SOLD! Apricot Jam and topped with chocolate ganache. Yeah I'll take one for the road. $5 was a bit steep but if it is good there no price too high. So I get it in my car, took a bite and woofed the whole thing in embarrassment. My fiancé and I were supposed to get married at Clark's Landing on April 17th. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we were unable to have our big celebration. Tried to get a 2 tier birthday cake was quoted almost 500.00 keeping in mind it was basic and a birthday not a wedding realize prices have gone up however felt it was totally way over priced and received honestly 3 other places ranging from 180-250 so thinking I was correct in my thinking. Absolutely fantastic bakery -- was the preferred bakery for my wedding venue and price included a cake. I was leary since wedding cakes are notorious for being dry. Boy was I wrong!!! Hubby and I live out of state so we were not able to do a tasting or pick up a tasting box. Elizabeth (?) walled us through amazing combos over the phone. We were very disappointed with our wedding cake. It was not executed to our selection. Butter cream was replaced for white chocolate icing, yellow cake was substituted for white cake, and our filling was supposed to be strawberries with chocolate mousse, instead a scant amount of strawberry was present with no chocolate mousse. Lisa the owner declined to speak with us but instead sent an email stating the cake was created as ordered. We also sent a photo to show Lisa the errors. They also have a few tables inside to sit & chow down. After speaking with the young lady at the counter I ordered my custom cake. There were a ton of choices & I decided on a layer cake, 1 layer chocolate & 1 yellow. It was filled with banana & strawberries in a vanilla pudding mix. They were able to transpose an edible clip art picture, which I emailed them, onto the cake for a fee if $15. When I picked up the cake it was exactly what I wanted; they did a great job! My husband LOVED his cake! I was concerned the buttercream frosting would make it too sweet but I had no reason to be. It was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend this bakery. They had more reasonable prices for their cakes & the up charges than some of the other bakeries I visited. The only reason this not a 5 Star review is service seems a bit slow. The phone was ringing pretty consistently both times I stopped in & the girl at the counter was doing double duty. Horrible Customer Service. Asked my fiance to pick up a wedding cake sample box I had ordered to do a tasting & staff never greeted him, talked among themselves about their personal lives for over 5 minutes while he stood there and when a woman walked in tried to serve her before him!
