Entrees 7/29/24
Jim D.

My last review was 8 years ago. We have dined here many times since then and always have been quite happy with food quality and quantity, service, and ambiance. Last evening, we dined here early. Beatrice was our friendly and attentive server. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived at 515 pm, but was practically full by 630 pm and it was a Monday evening. We started with a special salad of golden beets with 6 grilled shrimp, greens, nuts, goat cheese $25. Yummy. Then, for entrees, we ordered from regular menu: Blackened Catfish $32 and Seafood Jambalaya with rice $38. Everything simply delicious and after the big salad we had to take food home. Prices may seem high, but remember that you will be saving a lot because you can BYOB.

Fabulous!!

As a frequent patron of the establishment when it was Clementine's, I am thrilled that the experience was just as delicious if not more. What a great job!! Food was 5 star, the ambiance by the renovations are warm and inviting, and the service extraordinary. It was lovely to see Andrea still there!!! She is a gem. Can't wait to come back. We were so excited to eat the food we forgot to take pictures. So I only have one taken in the middle of eating. Blackened shrimp! Hearty portion!

Ask the Community - Clementeam

Is this byob?

Yes. And there is a liquor store next door.

Is there outside dining right now during the pandemic?

Yes! Its great!

Why a time limit on tables? Is it a real small place?

It’s a byob so patrons sometimes try to stay to long. It is a smalller is lace but when I was there I had plenty of time to eat a fabulous meal and not feel rushed.

The crust is firm but still plush enough to eat the crust without it cutting the roof of your mouth. Caesar salad was a BANGER. I did not expect to love a salad just as much as the main star of the show. I didn't even take a photo because it got completely wiped out as soon as the table hit. Service is phenomenal. The staff is limited but you wouldn't even notice until you're leaving. The craftsmanship here is authentic and passionate. The dining experience is elevated but not overly done. The place itself is spacious, perfectly lit and very clean. They even offer very cute and quality merch. I even bought a pullover and loved that it was made with great materials. Love supporting this small local business and I highly recommend!

The food was delicious from a very creative menu. Loved the music. The reason I rated 3-stars is because I was really looking forward to visiting for quite some time. It's a 30-minute drive and I visited on a Sunday at 1pm. They close at 3pm. The first thing I asked for was the French toast. They stated that they were out of French toast. Next I asked for Lobster Benedict. They ran out of lobster. The lobster, I can understand. It's seafood. You want it to be fresh and also I think it was a special that day. But how does a brunch restaurant run out of French Toast on the busiest brunch day of the week and you have 2 hours of service left? Not a good impression at all and I was very disappointed. If I wasn't so hungry, I would have walked out. I settled for the Liam's Favorite pancakes which was good and very filling, but I just wasn't in the mood for pancakes. Seasoned potatoes were good. Drinks were also good. Had the Dulce de Leche Cafe. Also this place is BYOB if you want to bring a bottle for mimosas. I would return here, but only if I am conveniently in the area.

Cavé serves organic, gluten-free, wholesome food without seed oils. Great for anyone who is health-conscious but also wants to eat well. My favorite dish that I've gotten here was the short rib. Tender and soft, it was served with a thick gravy that went very well with the potatoes. I'm excited to come back and eat more.

Visited Cave Bistro off the recommendation of a friend, and also DDD (iykyk)…read more I've frequented many DDD Restaurant's in the past, and they always seem to be very crowded. So just to be safe, I did make a reservation right when the restaurant opened. Seems to say I played it a bit too safe, I was the only one i there for the first 20-min.! In any case, then dining area was very bright and open, and I was seated near the window, which I enjoyed. I tried three foods, appetizer-entree-dessert, here's the breakdown: 1) Appetizer: Pan Roasted Achiote Octopus ($22) which has Shaved Pickled Carrots & Onions, Chermoula. For 1 person, this was quite substantial and a delicious start to the meal. The octopus wasn't tough, it was cooked perfectly, with a nice char-grilled flavour. Paired up with the accoutrements, it was a 10/10 way to begin my meal! 2) Entree: Grass-Fed Beef-Roasted Marrow Burger ($26) which has Raclette Cheese, Caramelized Onion-Tomato Jam, Fresh Baked Gluten Free Brioche Bun, & Beef Tallow Fries. Why 4-stars? Because of this item. The day I arrived the restaurant was trying their new "Baked Gluten-Free Brioche" on me, apparently I was one of the first --- the bread was dry AF, lol! I loved the burger --- the marrow taste, the raclette cheese --- I sing their praises, but wrong day to test out the "test bread"! It ended up on a Yelp Review. Hopefully the bread-recipe has been improved on after this review. PS: The onion-tomato jam perfectly pairs with the richness of the marrow burger. 3) Lastly, I ordered for dessert the bread pudding. They don't put their desserts on the menu, but if you ask the server they will let you know what the restaurant has for the day. I believe it's seasonal as well. It was average at best, good ---- but didn't stand-out. Overall, I'd totally recommend a stop-by if you're in the area! It's always awesome visiting these sites features on DDD, and tasting for yourself the hype behind their food!
