I confirmed several times and put the cost in my calculator for the two services before I left so there wasn't any confusion. I returned at time appointment was expected to end (90 mins later) and when it came time to pay, three hours later, two other ladies were now working and rang me up for more than was quoted. I questioned why the price difference and showed what was quoted to me multiple times. The lady who provided the service and told us the prices remained quiet and the lady who might have been a manager just said sorry for the mistake and made no effort to unqire or ask what she had said. From running late to not honoring or intentionally misquoting prices prior to services being completed, to taking much longer than expected, we will be going elsewhere. Too many great options.

I used to get my nails done weekly when I had the membership at Julep. Since that closed & after the pandemic I hadn't done much of it, so I wanted to get back into it by finding a neighborhood salon where I can go regularly. I made an appointment at Kim Studio Nails online, and showed up at the correct time. I walked in, they looked up but nobody said hi, so I had to initiate the conversation. They didn't ask me for my name or anything. I let them know I signed up for gel, removal and paraffin. I think there was a confusion with the previous party showing up late for their appointment (the staff were nice to her), but that wasn't my fault. There was no chair available, so they told me to sit awkwardly in the pedicure chair without putting my feet in the basin. I told the lady again I asked for gel and paraffin. She started taking off my previous gel, and I think she thought it wasn't coming off easily; so she kept complaining (I don't speak the language, but I can tell she was complaining). She aggressively & somewhat carelessly filed the nails, at one point the nail file broke my skin. Later she sprayed alcohol on the broken skin, so that really burned. She was wearing gloves, but her nails were quite long for a technician; she clasped my fingers hard while doing my nails, so her nails dug into my hands and that really hurt as well. Oh, and she didn't do the paraffin treatment. At this point I just wanted to get out of there, so I didn't insist on it. The nails themselves came out normally. As I paid, paraffin was listed so I told them I didn't get one. Only then, the lady whom I assume to be Kim said "Oh did you want paraffin?" It's kind of like asking you "Oh did you want your drink?" after you already finished your meal & are paying the bill. No apologies. I said thank you as I went out, but I got no thank you or bye or anything as I was leaving. It's rare to visit a business that's so unhappy about taking my money. I'm puzzled about the great reviews. Maybe my kind is not welcome. (They seemed nice to white ladies.) Having felt so unwelcome, not sure if I'll go back. Too bad, since it was close to where I live.

The lady helping me looked very disgusted at my nail and didn't seem to want to work on it. She was also very rough, which was frustrating because she could see my nail wasn't in good shape. Entire pedicure was very quick and for $39 I wouldn't recommend. Meanwhile my friend's dip removal was left on way too long, and she said her nails started falling apart. Then I was moved to the regular station for my manicure, and the woman was INCREDIBLY slow and drilled way too long and too hard, right on my cuticles. I actually turned to my friend and said "this hurts." After she was done with the basics, the other woman working stepped in to a) fix what she had done and then b) did my design (one nail per hand). We were there for almost THREE hours, but their pricing is the biggest kicker -- nowhere on their website do they have the price of dip removal listed if you're getting a manicure with it. Their website says "Dip removal w/o manicure $20" (which is the highest I've ever seen, I've been to ~10 salons in the area and have never been charged more than $10). We were shocked when we went to check out. My friend's total for just her hands was $77 before tip -- $14 for dip removal (for 4 full nails, and a few that were very chipped), $10 for a design (one nail per hand) and $53 for a dip manicure. My total was $106 before tip -- $39 for a quick pedicure, $14 for dip removal on four nails and a design on one nail per hand, $53 for a dip manicure. This was the most ripped off we've felt in a long while and we're monthly dip manicure girls. Edit: 8 days after the dip manicure and a finger already chipped.

They also have iPads available during the service, so I ended up watching Emily in Paris while getting my nails done. What impressed me the most was their cleanliness. After each customer, they thoroughly cleaned everything with Clorox wipes, including the desk, chairs, and surrounding area.
