I booked a gel pedicure and a dip manicure with design, my friend booked just a dip manicure with design. An older woman did my pedicure and accidentally put regular polish on instead of gel -- they offered to fix it but I declined, no big deal. Entire pedicure was very quick and for $39 I wouldn't recommend. Meanwhile my friend's dip removal was left on way too long, and she said her nails started falling apart. Then I was moved to the regular station for my manicure, and the woman was INCREDIBLY slow and drilled way too long and too hard, right on my cuticles. I actually turned to my friend and said "this hurts." After she was done with the basics, the other woman working stepped in to a) fix what she had done and then b) did my design (one nail per hand). We were there for almost THREE hours, but their pricing is the biggest kicker -- nowhere on their website do they have the price of dip removal listed if you're getting a manicure with it. Their website says "Dip removal w/o manicure $20" (which is the highest I've ever seen, I've been to ~10 salons in the area and have never been charged more than $10). We were shocked when we went to check out. My friend's total for just her hands was $77 before tip -- $14 for dip removal (for 4 full nails, and a few that were very chipped), $10 for a design (one nail per hand) and $53 for a dip manicure. My total was $106 before tip -- $39 for a quick pedicure, $14 for dip removal on four nails and a design on one nail per hand, $53 for a dip manicure. This was the most ripped off we've felt in a long while and we're monthly dip manicure girls. Edit: 8 days after the dip manicure and a finger already chipped. read more

Then I came back in from waiting in my car, and the young gal working put her finger up to me and was talking on the phone with her friend. I heard her friend say 'ya I'm coming' and then they told me they had no time for me and to come back tomorrow. They clearly didn't care about my time, feelings, or the fact that I was a paying customer. The 2nd bad experience I had was that the same young gal with glasses was mid doing my nails, ran to the back to sneeze into her hands and did not wash them, then came back with no gloves to continue to do my nails. This place was close by, and I bought a Groupon deal. The salon is located in a this tiny strip mall area space on 15th ave, next to Black Pearl and QFC. Parking space available. Upon arriving, there was only one other customer getting her nails finished. I waited maybe 10-15mins after my original appointment time, which is fine and understandable. There were signs for free wifi, newer magazines, which I appreciated. I met Huy, who was the owner and started up his salon only a year ago! I was impressed, because I noticed during my pedi he paid very close attention and did a thorough job. We started talking and I realized that he was clearly understaffed because it was hard to find staffing in North Seattle -- therefore he was the only one working for the past few weeks with long hours. As a result, the best way is to always schedule a appointment online to guarantee a spot. I told him about a wedding I was attending the next day, and he told me about the dip powder, and offered color combo ideas. I've never tried powder before and was hesitant (Groupon was for shellac nails), but he offered to let me try it without extra charge. (I was also the last customer and my mani and pedi took 2.5hrs to complete). That was very sweet and great customer service of Huy to offer, and also after trying the dip powder (this is two weeks later) I'm in love! I don't think I can go back to gel, seeing how strong and long lasting it is. Note that they do not offer acrylic services. Just pedi, mani (powder, shellac, regular polish). The salon itself is very clean, sanitary, and all the tools are new or sanitized and in a new wrap. Huy took his time, did not rush, and you are able to see that he is a hard worker and only wants the best and customer satisfaction. He has a bit of trouble with staffing; (hence the few poorer ratings that I read) so I would recommend to book with him if possible, until he finds stable, hard workers -- good luck! It has been 9 days since I got them done and looking like I haven't gotten my nails done in a month. 5/31/19 This place is clean and staff is nice. It is easy to set up an appointment. However, I am giving them 1 star because this is my second time here and they did a horrible job with my SNS manicure. First, the powder I wanted on my ring finger did not work as I wanted, so they covered it with a horrible design (see pictures, but I am talking like something you would've gotten done in the 90s). Then my pinky nail cracked as soon as I got home. See my pictures for how my nails look now not even a week later! In total, I paid $75 for this mani-pedi! This was my second experience at this nail salon. Im rating the salon a 2 star as the staff are really nice it's chic and clean. I love going to nail salons that do not have acrylic. The downside is when I told the nail tech she was filing too hard she did not listen to me until it was too late. Completely burned my nail I had to snatch my hand away. I started to bleed and it hurts so bad I didn't even finish getting my nails done just opted for the manicure. They still charged me $36 for removal of dip and manicure but they were accommodating to the fact their nail tech burned my nail enamel off to the point I bled. The manicure chipped after two days. And for the pedicure, the polish came out lumpy, so I asked them to fix it, but after they removed it, they just started repainting with the same lumpy polish. I had to ask them multiple times to please use a different bottle of polish -- and when they did, they just painted on top of the "redo" they had started with the old polish. I gave up and just let them finish so I could leave. It's not bad from far away, but it's not a job I'll be paying for again -- especially because of my now-bleeding cuticles. read more

5/18/19 After my last negative review, I was contacted within a few days by the salon owner. He invited me back for a complimentary mani and pedi and apologized for the poor service I'd previously received. Today I returned for my services and was served by Hannah the manager of the nail technicians. She was very attentive and did an excellent job with great attention to detail (such as ensuring to paint the edges of my nails). I had many apologies and explanations for what went wrong last time. Today Angelina , a fluent English speaker was present. She explained that she's assisting the owner Huy with customer relations, marketing, and training of new staff. The salon recently let a few employees go including the woman who did such a poor job with mine last time, and Angelina explained they are being very mindful in their hiring of new skilled nail technicians who are able to easily communicate with customers and open to additional training. I was fully satisfied with my trip today and am pleased that Huy and his team valued my feedback and were open to using past mistakes as a learning experience.
