AVOID AVOID AVOID. Arrived at 7:30ish on a Friday nite to meet family and friends. Large group of about 15-20 but we all didn't need to sit or eat together. Some of the guys wanted to get a few seats at the bar (the place does bill itself as a BAR/BREWERY) some wanted to sit at tables. Was met with a sour faced host at the front who told my sister that a group our size would "overwhelm" the staff. Server with sparkly makeup (sparkles did NOT translate to her personality), flicked some chairs around, told everyone to move out of the way, didn't even crack a smile. Went to the bar to see if that was a little more accommodating and walked into 6 empty bar stools while the bartender was having a meltdown about 4 guys trying to sit. He told them he couldn't handle everyone and that they couldn't just stand there - but wait, don't sit down! - and then proceeded to walk away. 6 of us decided to leave since the host, bar tender, and couple of other servers there were borderline hostile. Could share a couple other rude words the servers said but nah. Only good thing was the braddah playing music. Would give 0/5 if I could. read more

I really liked this place! I came here straight after a hike in Waimea so I was dirty and tired and just not feeling very sociable, but the server was super nice and made sure we were being taken care of. The food menu is what you'd expect from a bar menu, but it was better than basic bar food. There weren't too many restaurants that were open so we were kinda of "settling" on eating here, but I'm glad we did. They have a bunch of tv's playing various sports channels so I could see it getting super busy here at times, but on a Sunday evening in the middle of summer it was pretty dead. [covidtime-3/14/2020 visit] Still before things totally changed, we went on a sea tour, but also stopped here for some great food and drink. Server was fantastic, we got some "last beer today" tshirts (furthest west brewery before date time line) and the food was good. Interacted with the next table, a retired DC medical doctor about what was coming. This was our first stop in Kauai after dropping our belongings at the air bnb we stayed at. Our friends got married in Kauai and they had a get together here on the first day. I was very hungry ( first meal after a long travel day hungry) and ordered a chicken burger that was grilled, my husband ordered the poke bowl. Both were really good, I did have slightly lower expectations since it was a brewery but the food was very good! Definitely do not have pics this time bc we were starving! For drinks we had a skinny margarita I believe which was pretty good but nothing to write home about! read more

Bartender "Megan" wasn't overly welcoming, attentive or seemingly happy to be at work. We sat at the bar. She didn't say you're welcome or thank you. Can I say TO DIE FOR! We had just come off a sunset cruise and this restaurant was conveniently located and the only restaurant open. Very cool to find a microbrewery (had to get the t-shirt of course. But the food is some of the best we've had on the island. My fresh ahi tuna was heaven on earth and Hubby said the fish and chips was the best he'd ever had....anywhere. I would return on my next visit to Kauai. I'm thinking positive & post-Covid! Their beer was great! Their food was typical American fare which is nice. A lot of fried foods, but they do have some good fish offerings. The deal is once you've had a fun filled day of activity it's okay to enjoy this food right? Yes! Right! We went to the glass beach and on our way there we remembered we gad been @ this brewery before so we decided that once we finished our glass hunt, we would stop there on our way out. After almost all day at the glass beach we stopped @ the brewery to have a well earned beer. The place looked tidy and friendly. We were greeted by a host while we were getting outta the car (we parked right by their desk thats Y). He directed us to our table and as soon as we sat down, our waiter came around to offer us sum refreshments, I picked the German Pilsner 'n the wife asked for a Plantation Ice Tea. Jeremiah, our waiter for the day told us he had never heard o' that drink so we told him the contents and he said he'll prepare one for us. "That was the BEST Plantation Ice Tea I ever had" my wife complemented him. We ordered Nachos to go w' the beer and fish 'n chips. Great choices as they tasted good as well as the fish and fries. We found out Jeremiah is a Chef but that he identifies as a waiter on his day 0ffs. After talking to him for a bit, we figured out he is also a chef fir hire. Service makes such a huge impact on dining experience. And sadly, the service we received left a rather bitter taste in our mouths along with their lukewarm mediocre beers. Huge shoutout to the rude af waitress who attends the tables out on the porch on feb 7, 2022 at 4:30pm. Upon entering the premise of this property, we see the sign that says to wait at the stand to be seated and so we did that. However, one member of our party walked about 3 feet past the stand to scan the menu. Along came this angry negative ball of energy (the rude af waitress mentioned in the previous paragraph) yelling at her to move out of the way lmao. Like chill out? Where's the mahalo vibes bruh? When the hostess came to seat us, she asked us if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. We said outside, so we can enjoy the fresh air filling up the mahalo air of Kauai. Upon hearing our answer, the previously mentioned negative ball of energy said under her breath, "the wait is going to be long." Basically implying that her service for us was going to be slow lol. After we heard that, we immediately did our future selves a favor and respectfully asked the hostess to move us inside, thinking we would receive a better service inside. But, fools are us because inside service was also lukewarm just like the beers we had :( Suggestion to the management, maybe assign more waitress to attend the front porch tables so that the negative ball of energy isn't so overwhelmed and saying passive aggressive shit to first time newcomers. read more

By far the best breakfast I've had here. Great service, amazing food. Sports on 3 flat screens with sound, but not too loud. We ordered the loco moco, medium, although I think medium rare would've been a little softer, but still fantastic. Finished off the meal with the fruity pebbles French toast and couldn't be happier. Finally made it back! It's been 8 years, but true to my word, I planned to give this place another chance. After taking the self guided driving tour of Waimea, we were ready for a beer and some food. We were lucky to get 2 seats at the bar and had Nate as our server - very friendly and efficient. After tasting both Capt Cook & the Fonz IPAs, we be each selected The Fonz ayyy- so good! We shared an order of yummy grilled fish tacos that hit the spot. The sun was settling and the vibe was great! I now highly recommend visiting Kauai Island Brewing when you visit Kauai! read more

We had a wonderful Father's Day dinner here last week. We sat out on the porch and enjoyed the tasty beer and a cocktail. Our server was delightful and gave great recommendations for what to order, e.g. getting one fish taco (made with fresh mahi mahi) grilled and the other beer-battered. The fries were excellent too. Very family friendly - we saw a different server entertaining a toddler at another table. Highly recommend! read more

The beer selection is great for what you will find in the area. You won't find a larger local selection around. The atmosphere is chill, but lots of construction going on during my visit. It will be nice when it is done and you can sit outside... I found this place on yelp and was really excited about the wraps that were on the menu and in the photos. Turns out those are old photos and they don't do wraps anymore :( updated menu photos are attached. This brewery is definitely worth a visit if you're nearby. We popped by after a day a Poipu beach. We sat at the bar. Service was great. Bartender and other staff were friendly and attentive. We got a sampler of IPA's. I got the Lilikoi Ale. All tasty, though I admit I'm not much of a beer connoisseur. The munchies we ordered were so good. The green papaya salad was so fresh tasting. The dressing was sweet, tangy and a hint of spice. I would come back again just for this papaya salad. Also got the calamari fingers. These r sooooooooooo good. I may never eat calamari rings or strips again. These r the absolute best fried calamari I've ever had. The breading is light. The texture was nice and chewy and not tough. Kudos to the chef here! One more note. Glass beach is right down the road from the brewery. Skip the beach and just go to the brewery. U can drive right down to the beach and take a look for 2 seconds. Parking can be a problem because of the boat tours are all in the same area. We got there about 1 pm and happened to be lucky to find a parking space nearby. They seem to be short handed. Either go to their website or scan the QR code. After placing the order for two beers: stout and pale ale which took them about 15+ minutes to get them. There were 2-3 bartenders and only two servers. My son-in-law and I ordered the friend Calamari, my daughter, the chicken sandwich and my wife, the Ahi Poke. It took me 20+ minutes for our food to arrive and also the silverware. We still love this place choice of beer Is excellent and the food is delicious. read more

Meh at best.... Thursday, September 28th. Our server was miserable, food was warm at best. The pizza took over an hour to arrive and we were told it's because they had to go orders ahead of us. Kitchen is a disaster, dishes and mixers near the bathroom entrance. Unsecured box of floor had a kid playing by it. All the appetizers were $1 off which isn't the best happy hour deal but we made do with the appetizers. Ordered calamari, wings, fries nachos, and a hard cider bottle. Our fries were taking a while to come out after everything else had and we'd asked our waiter and said that they canceled our order. For no reason... it was very odd. This is great location for a cold beer and a bite after the boat adventures! They have good tourist merchandise to take home and (usually) a good variety of beer, with a standard bar menu. This time I came here, they were out of both light beers which was disappointing. Also most of the employees seemed checked out EXCEPT for Saisha (not sure if I spelled that right). But she ran this place and was literally the only responsive person that helped us with courtesy, a smile, and good service... and I don't even think she was working the bar area, so I just hope she gets our tip. read more

Pretty small place, but packed a ton of good food and some nice beers. Interior is a warehouse and not much but the outside covered patio is nice. They seem to stay busy, as it was packed the whole time we were there and several beers ran out by the time we wanted another round. The employees seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people they had to deal with, as servers were hard to track down and bartenders and hosts weren't all that friendly or helpful. Our server was very friendly but seemed scattered and forgot many things.
