The restaurant was lively with a steady dinner rush, live music was playing, and staff was readily available and attentive. Their menu, as is the case at a lot of Hawaiian restaurants, is very heavily geared towards seafood, which I love, but didn't leave a ton of options for my wife. I ordered the "Keoki's Style," which is their seasonal fish atop some Okinawan purple mashed potatoes with coconut flavor mixed in. The fish was Wahoo, which is part of the mackerel family. The entrées of Seven Spice Ahi, Panko & Mac Nut Crusted Fish along with Nachos (as a main), were pleasant but leaned toward "fine" rather than exceptional. It was suggested by our server that was attentive, but not overly. We ended sharing the highly overrated Original Hula Pie which I didn't realize it was with macadamia nut ice cream until I reread the menu as it tasted like vanilla. They had live music and just an overall lively atmosphere that made it feel like a true vacation dinner spot. Our server Colin was very attentive and friendly, especially on a busy weekend. My husband loved his meal, but I'm pregnant and honestly struggled a bit with the menu. There weren't a ton of options that felt right for me. I ended up getting a burger which was good, just not anything amazing. Overall we had a good experience and I'd still recommend it for the ambiance alone. Did stop by to check in on us a few times (water refills was lacking though) and their mai tais was strong and tasty. Good kids menu too. My brothers Ono Keokis style was sooo ONO! However, the Okinawan sweet potato mash that came with it was not complimentary and too sweet to pair with the delicious fish. Regular mashed potatoes or rice would've been better we think. What put the whole experience over the top, though, was our super attentive and friendly waitress Charlene. She was so sweet to our baby and made such a pleasant and comfortable experience for us all. The live music was a nice touch. Don't forget to order the Hula Pie for dessert. Seeeeriously yummy. This place has great service and great ambiance. The whole restaurant has such a nice vibe to it. We marked on our reservation that it was our anniversary and they wrote us a cute card and gave us a free dessert which was amazing (hula pie). We got the seafood risotto and the guava bbq chicken both of which were good. Chicken was a huge portion, basically an entire half of the chicken and the bbq sauce and kimchi veggies were great. What a great experience for our anniversary celebration! Well started off with cocktails and coconut shrimp. Try the Lychee martini or the Mule. Luckily, we had an inside table when it started raining. The server was very helpful while making g our choice for dinner. We split a Caesar salad.m to start. At most places in which we ate, the Caesar salad was big enough to share. This was a bit small. I had the seafood risotto. It was very good but it was more risotto than protein. Unfortunately there was no live music for the night due to coinciding reservations for the space. Water refills infrequent since it was quite busy. Everything took a long while to come out. We had gotten a mai tai and guava daquiri for drinks. For food, my partner and I ordered the mushroom ravioli, maui onion soup, the mahi mahi keoki style, hoisin pork ribs, and guava chicken. The drinks were overly sweet, likely too much triple sec or mixer. The mushroom ravioli was decent but a overcooked and needed salt. The french onion soup just felt like it was missing something. The soup itself just seemed like broth and wasn't rich in the slightest. The cheese also wasn't melted either and bread an after thought. The hoisin pork ribs were decent flavorwise but chewy. Overall, a lot of things were inconsistently cooked between the both the chicken and the fish. Chicken ended up dry for different parts. The kimchi had a moderate kick to it and too spicy for some. For dinner our party of five started with coconut shrimp, and then we went on to seafood risotto, chef's fish duo, and Keoki style fresh fish of the day, all of which were perfectly prepared and presented. A few in our party had Mai Tais which were excellent. We had a 4 year old in our party, and the kid's (Keiki) menu is sure to impress, (grilled cheese, chicken strips, hamburgers, teriyaki chicken). Little miss had grilled cheese with fries on the side. Our server on the first night was Todd (we actually went twice in our one week stay). Todd was amazingly attentive and made the 4 year old feel like a person, engaging her by asking her questions about the food and how she was doing. For the rest of us he knew the menu top to bottom and was comfortable making recommendations. Later I noticed Todd helping with a red wine accident at another table- a true professional with the most positive attitude. Spilling red wine is basically a nightmare for all involved, but he good naturedly made it all go away. The second night was just as good with our server Bree, who after another amazing dinner brought a birthday Hula cake (lighted candles and singing) to the little one which made it the most memorable and fun evening. The fish portion was a little on the smaller end and the type of white fish (didn't ask what it was) was not as flakey as I like. The seafood risotto was the star of the show. We did not have reservations and just walked in and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table on a Saturday night. The place is pretty big and has an outdoor sorta vibe which reminded me of a lot of places you see in Maui. They both were moist and not dry with unique flavors local to the islands. Nothing was overly sweet which we appreciated because we tend to avoid sweet foods. I asked for the "rarest prime rib that you have" and was not dissapointed at all. I only ordered the 12oz cut and was worried it wouldn't be enough meat as they offer a larger version (for a lot more). Luckily when it came out, it was plenty of meat, and of course, rare. Salted and seasoned perfectly it really hit the spot after a long day of hiking. The servers, hostess, and staff all were very welcoming and polite. No issues at all.
