Ok this was our first time trying Scotty Browns and I'm glad we did! They are in the same shopping center as some of our other favorite restaurants. They're more on the casual side, and they're on the first floor, so no ocean view. But they have a great covered patio area that is fun and VERY protected. My sister in law and I each tried the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and we really loved it. We got the mashed potatoes with it which was definitely the right call. Unfortunately the broccoli was pretty bland. But my family loved their lilikoi foam-topped Mai Tais. I want to thank the staff because I called and left a message asking to be seated inside since we were worried about rain. Our party was too big for the inside seating (it's very limited), but they made sure to put us in a very protected area on the patio. Our waitress was welcoming and patient. There is plenty of parking in the shopping center which is always helpful. We would definitely come back! read more

Nice spot at the Shops at Kukui'ula! Our server was sooo sweet and funny hahaha. I really enjoyed the kung pao lettuce wraps with crispy tofu - the sauce was sweet, salty, and flavorful and the tofu was well cooked :) The poke was also delicious and fresh. This was a fantastic meal! We had reservations and were seated right away. It was a casual but cozy atmosphere and a great place for families. For drinks we had the Mai Thai and the pina colada, both of which were the best drinks we've had so far on the island! Their Mai Thai has a guava foam on top. Delish! First time here and it was pretty good. Busy resort-area restaurant feel, so there are a lot of tourists. Eclectic American fare, ranging from salads and burgers to pasta and steak, plus sushi and Asian-inspired appetizers. They have an extensive drink and cocktail menu in which I did not partake, but it's there. I opted for the blackened chicken Alfredo (full size), which was pretty hearty. There are tons of fried bacon in here, which makes it a little more indulgent, so be warned if heavy cream and Parmesan is already a lot for you. The kung pao chicken lettuce wrap is the unheralded star here, in my opinion. Sushi is okay, but there are other places in the Poipu area who don't specialize in sushi that make better sushi. Server gave us forks to eat the sushi, which I thought was odd. Pretty good restaurant with a nice, busy feel and good staff. The overhead music can be a little loud at times, but the option of outdoor seating can lessen the clamor. read more

Went here for late lunch after finding Merriman's is only open for dinner. Sat on the large patio with lots of seating. We were given water shortly after being seated. My husband ordered a mai tai . He loved the guava foam on top of the drink. He said the drink was good though it didn't contain a lot of rum. I ordered the hamburger w/ a gluten free bun. It was good - just a touch dry. We stopped by this place the first night we got to Kauai. Walked around the shopping center and saw there happy hour and there was room at the bar. And we are sure glad we there. I have to start with Seth the bartender. A class act and a genius behind the bar. Super nice... open to make anything... and made sure we were always taken care of. What a great guy and a true blessing to any customer who comes up to the bar area. Good variety of drinks available. And with Seth anything is possible. Food was good. Happy Hour menu has some good options. We got the gyoza and roll. Both were OUTSTANDING. Highly recommend. The ambiance is awesome. Great decor and lighting. Very welcoming. Plenty of staff around. This place was so awesome we visited two more times during our stay on the island. My wife loved the Poke. My only complaint is the pricing. Some of the items are pretty high. Two examples is we ordered the full size salad and I asked if they gave me the smaller salad because the portion size was not that much for the price. The other example is the quesadilla for $28. That seems quite ridiculous. But again, I will come back next time I am on the island. This place is great. read more

After being seated, we were told they don't do chicken wings anymore. Then take it off your menu! How hard is that? Very disappointing. So we got one of everything on the happy hour menu. Sushi was great. Poke and chips was flavorless and the chips were stale. Pot stickers were decent and the fries with aoili was great. A really solid stop for drinks and snacks with a decent happy hour. We popped in here around 4:30 on a weekday and were able to get seated right away, it definitely filled up by the time we left so a reservation might be wise if you're coming at a later time. We grabbed the famous mai tai with guava foam. The foam itself was really delicious although the mai tai itself was definitely on the sweet end. We ordered the dragon roll, poke, and potstickers from the happy hour menu. We were seated next to a couple with a child who screamed off and on and we thought about leaving right away, however we decided to stay and give it a try. The lilikoi Collins cocktail did not taste like lilikoi, and the spritz did not taste a ton like POG. The "famous cowboy salad" was OK but nothing to rave about, as was the shrimp salad. The poke bowl was great. The bartenders were pretty attentive, though they could have filled waters a little more often. We are here as a large group with little kids. The restaurant was accommodating and treated the kids well. I had the cowboy salad with chicken and without tortilla chips to keep it gluten free. This restaurant's food is absolutely a 10/10!! I have celiac disease where I cannot have cross-contamination or eat gluten. Before booking our reservation, the manager said they could accommodate me and they curated a safe meal for me. I felt safe to eat here and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. With That being said, there were only a few things presented that they could accommodate me, and one I had asked about because I did not want a sandwich/burger. The drinks are amazing!! The mai tai with gauva cold foam is amazing! This place based on food is a 5/5 but i took a star off for the rudeness of the workers and feeling like my allergy/ chronic illness as a burden and like we were being difficult. First 3 star review incoming... Made a reservation for 7:30pm, arrived at 7:28 and was told our table wasn't ready since the restaurant was full and they couldn't give us a time. They said they would call us when a table opened up so we left and walked around. 10 minutes later, we got text saying our table was ready. It came out medium well/well done. Ahi sandwich I would pass on. You're paying for more bread than anything... even the slice of avocado was slightly bigger than the ahi. Chicken Alfredo was rich in flavors and the chicken remained moist. Chicken tenders were seasoned to give it a tiny bit of heat, which isn't bad but our order was a little over fried... batter didn't stay on the chicken with every bite. Fries on the hand, yum! Just needed a hit of more salt and they would've been perfect! Solid dining experience for any and all tourist who are visiting the island. Hmmm.. this was a sad follow up from a year ago when we were so pleased. Last year, I remember being so impressed by Sunday (the manager). I was so excited to come back this year after a legit great first impression. So here we go... our server, Brittney, was meh at best. Nothing good to say, but nothing bad to say either. Just simply not the most personable server (honestly didn't know her name until I saw it on our receipt.) Still loved the gyoza, liked that there is now kids menu which didn't exist last year, still liked the mai tai, still liked the margarita (even though it still had a table salt rim which I hate), we tried the lettuce wraps this time which were good...but, most disappointingly, the poke app was not great. Last year it came with these amazing chips, this year it was tortilla strips and not good. Anyhow, I'd be willing to try again next year. I thought we'd visit a few times this year during our 3 week trip, but I think we're good. Maybe next time . read more
