Had the Reuben and it was great. Love how I can eat as many pickles as I want. Never been to the actual Katz but the express was pretty good. Chips were even tasty. My wife had the the Reuben dog, she liked it just felt really overpowering of sauerkraut. Sill good though. read more

My wife and I took our youngest daughter here for lunch while running errands. I had the Reuben with matzo ball soup, the wife had the three cheese and tomato sandwich with broccoli and cheese soup and my daughter had the Chicken Parmesean. Everything was pretty good, I would definitely come here again. read more

Walked in, was seated and our drink orders taken pretty quickly. Phil came over, took our orders and got pickles and Katz cole slaw to munch on while orders were being worked. I had a #1, which was delicious and served again, fairly fast. Enjoyed the home made chips. For a party of two, the two can share a full dish of home made chips. They are good and delicious too. The only negative I can see is leaving, either going north or south rather than west on the first street by Katz. That was backed up pretty bad, no reason that I could see. Phil is an excellent server making sure our glasses were always full, and his customers enjoying themselves. He'd check back checking our glasses and our satisfaction with our selection of the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed it. read more

I love Katz's. Been coming here for the meatball sub for years. Always tastes great and always have friendly service in a clean atmosphere.

We we're visiting Houston from Florida with a family member in the hospital about to pass away. We went out with family to have dinner together. It was 5 of us. First, we sat at a table. But the chairs are very hard and uncomfortable and my mother in law has a painful condition that causes back and leg pain. So she needed us to switch to a booth with her. We are big people, five adults, and five won't fit in a booth. I was going to pull up my chair to the booth because we wanted to eat and be together in this painful time as a family. Completely harmless and reasonable request. The server wouldn't let me move my chair, talking about blocking customer traffic. The manager was no help and gave me this insincere story about blocking customers and fire codes. I'm looking around while he's talking and the place was huge and completely empty. I tried to reason with him to no avail. We left. Everything he said was nonsense. I've never been to a place so unaccommodating. Jasons Deli moves everything around for larger parties even when the place is full. I go to Hooters for UFC pay per views and you can hardly get to the bathroom when its crowded. How is it that this empty pathetic place is unable to let me sit with my family? What a sick joke. Also, some places the staff are genuinely friendly and it makes for a good experience. Here they have insincere fake smiles and phony friendliness. Very corporate and not a nice place. So much for trying new places. Never got a chance to taste their food. Never will. read more

We normally go to the Katz on Westheimer, but we decided to come here when we were in the area. Just like the other location, service is quick and friendly. Cafe style doesn't keep the staff from checking on you and offering to fix or help with anything. My only complaint is actually similar to the other location. I love smoked salmon so I almost always get the smoked salmon sandwich. The put too much red onion and cream cheese in it. It drowns out the star... The salmon. I also get the black and white cookie. It's a good cookie, but I think the black and white cookie from Three Brothers bakery is better. read more

First time here and will definitely return! Went in expecting you're average sandwich shop and was presently surprised! The whole place is decorated with a New York feel and it's awesome! The original owners that made the first location in Austin were Jewish so everything there is Kosher. The server/cashiers name was Zach and he was so helpful! He went over their most popular items and answered any of our questions. Even the general manager helped! They let us try samples and really helped us pick out our perfect lunch! I got their chili cheese hot dog with onion rings and my husband got the cheese cheese burger with Mac and cheese. We also got chili cheese fries to split. The food was so good! The service was great! Will definitely go back! They have breakfast available all day. This is only the third location ever and is a really cool place. They have delicious looking deserts but we were stuffed! Gonna get a piece of cheese cake a shake next time for sure. read more

Chips were great-- obviously made right there. Rice pudding was good, but could do without the strawberry syrup. The sandwich isn't bad, but the bread is really white bread with little bits of caraway. Disappointing. read more

I really wanted to like this place, I loved the menu and was very optimistic that there would be some authentic Jewish deli stuff going on, but...it all seems to have gotten diluted by a corporate chain recipie. The Ruben was missing that little somtin somtin and the Kosher foot long was just meh. I will say it is a better option than the other corporate chain stuff that is endemic to the area read more

So I had to update my review, this was my second visit I was seated promptly. It was last Saturday morning and I really wanted a good breakfast and an opportunity to relax before going to work. So the waiter came to get my order. I ordered the 4 item breakfast, eggs, bacon pancakes and coffee. I was seated close to the counter and the area where the waiters hang out. My first issue was the music was on way too loud, it's 10:30am and this isn't a bar right? And I politely asked my waiter to turn it down, also the type of music wasn't very pleasant. But it seemed that a few minutes later someone turned it back up and I didn't want to sound annoying. However the music and the selection was very annoying. I couldn't enjoy my dining experience. And so my breakfast arrived, the pancakes are so good, the eggs I think might be powdered eggs and I'm not a fan. And to make matters worse, they have me pastrami instead of bacon. And again a no win situation My first visit this morning. I'm was starving and wanted to switch it up since I hadn't had breakfast yet. I ordered the pastrami and eggs, and got the pancakes. Let me start off with the pancakes, they're the BEST pancakes I've ever had. Obviously made from scratch and hot maple syrup, IHOP is a joke compared to these real pancakes. The potato pancakes which was really hash brown patty thing, was ok I've had them before, I don't think I'm a big potato pancake fan. The eggs were scrambled and firm. The service was very good the server Anthony was very attentive and I'm guessing the manager came by to check in on me. Overall my dining experience was good. I'm definitely coming back to try a sandwich. Oh and the pastrami was very good, flavorful not greasy, read more

I don't understand the bad reviews here, we went in on a Sunday during rush hour and they were great. Our waiter was friendly and even the manager stopped to say hi. The place is super pretty decorated. The food was super yummy and they have a good selection of sandwiches and classic breakfast favorites. We had chicken & waffles, pancakes, and a chicken sandwich .... oh and the coffee is really good, that surprised me. And I think one of the best parts is that they're open 24/7 !! I mean come on people to have good food like this at any hour of the freakin day it's a w e s o m e . read more

Katz's - This is the express or small Reuben sandwich. - Delis Near Me - Shenandoah, Texas

My husband found this place on Yelp looking for good eats since we were coming to pick up my 'new to me' car nearby. (We are 5 hours away, and always look for interesting spots on trips). I was very impressed. It was very clean, and each person that greeted us was very pleasant. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben (mid-size), and he ordered the NY Pastrami. Both sandwiches were LARGE. He was very pleased with the amount of meat on his sandwich, and enjoyed the taste of the pastrami so much, he didn't even use the mustard he asked for on it. My Reuben was by far the best Reuben I have ever eaten. I could have easily ordered the "Skinny" and been satisfied. Our waiter was attentive and shared tidbits of store history which made our time even more interesting. This is definitely a 'Do Again' spot on our list. read more

They don't serve any liquor, only at the other locations downtown. So far service hasn't been to good. Got my food before my appetizer. Restrooms are filthy, my food was okay. No sauce really on the noodles. Had to ask for me sauce on the side. read more

This review is about Katz's breakfast.--good portions and good prices. Quality food. Limited selection. Met a couple of friends here and most of us opted for the Brooklyn which is sort of a build your own three item breakfast for $5.99. I opted for eggs, a short stack, and potato pancakes. The eggs weren't all that special but the pancakes, potato and otherwise, were pretty darn good. There are also several breakfast meat options included with the Brooklyn but I passed on those. One much wiser friend than I got the bacon and it was some of the best I've had--smoky and peppery. The odd man out in our breakfast group ordered the lox omelette which was pretty good too. Food orders are placed at the counter and then the waitstaff serves. Menus are scattered all around if you need to pick one up. And there is a small toybox in the front that can keep kids busy for at least a good 20 minutes or so. read more

Best Reuben on the north side? I'd say yes! I wanted to try this deli out for some time now, and finally got the chance. The inside is dark and is decorated with NYC subway signs. When you're dining in and get your number, the number card comes on a stand with a cab car as the base - super cute! The menu is packed with different sandwiches, but they also have hot entrees and salads, but all I can say is the Reuben was amazing. They give you a few options on the size of your sandwich, depending on how hungry you are - I thought the express was more than enough food. Their homemade chips were fresh and fried to perfection. Katz Express is a little pricey, for my meal alone (with a drink) was about $11, but on the upside, you can eat as many pickles out of the bucket as you want, so you can make up the difference in pickles if you really wanted to! read more

Rip Off! Rip Off! Rip Off! 1 Bagel with Lox - $13.29 - literally one small slice of lox on each bagel half. Compensated with way too much cream cheese. Lunch for 3 with tax and tip was $61.14. No dessert or appetizer. Last time I'll go there. read more

The only reason I didn't give them a 5 Star review was the price! I love the food! It is great and always taste fresh! For adults the price is what you would expect for something that taste so good! AND THEY HAVE PICKLES IN A BUCKET! What's better than that! However I have 2 kids and I feel like we waste money or food every time they order. That is the only reason we don't frequent as much as we used to. But other than that, I love this restaurant and now they are 24 hours also, is 100 times better! read more

This place is great! Our waiter Phil kept our drinks filled and was attentive even though the place was packed. The food was very yummy!

Love the simple slaw that they bring out with the kosher pickles while waiting on the meal. Addicting. Another fav - Potato pancakes with sour cream & applesauce. read more

This deli is one of the greats spots in Houston. This one is in the Woodlands area but they have another one in Downtown. Good service. Food is just awesome. The pastrami reuben sandwich is amazing. I've always loved Katz's, and this location doesn't disappoint. My food was delicious. The food, the ambiance, the staff were fantastic.

My first time being here and I cannot say that I was disappointed in the least. I ordered the French dip and it was absolutely heavenly. The manager was on point and our server Sergio couldn't have been more knowledgeable/helpful. I am so glad I was able to finally dine here. read more

I enjoy the food here. It's not five star dining, but hey it's a deli you wouldn't expect five star fine dining. They are good at what they do here. Their deserts are out of this world though and those get five stars! read more

First time going to this location, it was going good. Took a minute for our food but it was very busy and Christmas so no worries there. We got chicken parm and southern fried chicken. they made a mistake with our chicken parm bc THEY were out of the pasta for it and made it wrong. This caused us to wait longer for it. We ended up getting it and my bf eats one of the pieces of chicken (came w 2) and when he's cutting into his second piece he offered me a bite and I noticed it looked raw so we looked at that piece further and the bigger part of it that he cut from and saw it was COMPLETELY RAW. Not even just slight pink, no, it was completely raw. We mentioned it to the waiter../he was in complete shock and got the manager. Manager came and was like "oh you can get something else". THATS IT. Not even a oh we're so sorry about that, our apologies, Nothing. And didn't even have common courtesy to offer us both the chicken parm and OTHER meal that my bf had to get due to their mistake FREE. Our waiter was very sympathetic and did everything he could to resolve the issue. It was MANAGEMENT, that we had an issue with. She didn't even seem to care that my bf could get salmonella! He ate one whole piece that could have been raw but we don't know. She handled this situation VERY poorly. Katz's needs better management at this location. We came on DECEMBER 25 between 9-10:40pm. read more

Had lunch there today for the first time. Ordered a burger and fries, wife had a lunch special sandwich and sweet potato fries. All tasty. Good pickles, tangy slaw. Be advised on the Broadway burger, the fried pickles are *spears* not chips. Tasted good, but I opted to pull them off the burger for stability purposes. Friendly service, even the manager stopped by. I'll go back. The place was surprisingly dead for a weekday lunch, which gets no complaints from me! read more

Used to here often a couple of years ago. They have changed the layout and more importantly the pricing! The "Skinny" Reuben is $11.99 plus tax which comes with just the sandwich and a pickle. (Chips were going to be $2.99 extra!!) With tax and a tip (pricing not the waiter's fault), it was $15.50 for a small sandwich and a pickle. Can't understand how they can stay in business. read more

This place really a good place to eat. The staff never disappoints here. There friendly and always fast sending out the food. One thing I can say is the menu is huge. And when I mean huge it's like big they got so much good on the menu it's nuts. The best part is this place is a no pork deli and the food there has no pork me personally I don't like pork so I don't eat it that's a good think for me. The prices are a little bit expensive but it's nothing like going to a more higher quality place. The prices are reasonable and the staff are great I would recommend this place. read more

So let start by saying this place is NOT affiliated with the Katz's deli in NYC, and they make sure to tell you that after you order. Even though they have a similar name and NY stuff all over their restaurant. We paid $17+ for a sandwich which has 9oz of meat on it (a little more than half a pound) and bread!!! That's it, nothings else, no chz, no sauce nothing. with 2 sides and 1 sandwich the ttl meal was $29. I don't mind spending money on great food (Katz's in NYC charges $17+ for a sandwich which we paid with NO complaints) and I love the Katz's in NYC but this place is a joke. There are other places with the same quality of meat and bread and just as much portion wise for 1/2 the price. We came to this place thinking is was going to be the same experience as NYC but it was no where near it. I would suggest Jason's deli to anyone over this place. read more
