I was born and raised in the Northeast and most recently moved here from New Jersey, so my expectations for bagels are impossibly high (haha). Imagine my surprise when I found bagels just as good here in The Woodlands, TX, as they are in the Northeast! The service is always friendly and prompt, and I like the system they have where they give you a number (for both takeout and dine-in) to put on your table, and someone delivers your order to you. The coffee flavors are unique and really yummy. The menu is surprisingly extensive, with bagels in all kinds of flavors, breakfast items, a children's menu, sandwiches, salads, and even some tacos. The inside of the cafe is fresh with the NY vibe. Only thing missing is music and the smell (oddly enough) of bagels. Service was great and the bagel of the month recommendation was a hit for me. The hubby did not care for his garlic bagel and herb spread, both were bland. Chocolate muffin was just okay. It was a bit dry and missing a some kind of chocolate chips or a goo factor. In town for an A&M game and staying in Houston. Found this gem and I wish we had Brooklyn Cafe back at home! They were busy but the line moved rather quick! All of the employees were super nice, helpful and friendly! I got the loaded omelet without peppers and a pancake. Let me tell you the pancake was absolute perfection! This was our first time visiting this little cafe and wow, wish we would've found it sooner. We were looking for bagels and Brooklyn cafe popped up. Very impressed with cleanliness and decor. This is literally my favorite bagel shop in the Woodlands. I've been in store and I've ordered DoorDash 1 billion times. They make great bagels as well as the lox bagel, which is my favorite. Look at their lot taste too. They have tons of options, especially when it comes to Matcha. Location inside is so great. We were looking for something close by after a doctor appointment, but most things were closed before 11 o'clock but we were happy to find that the cafe was open. Not only was it open, and the parking lot very full, but it was absolutely packed on a random day of the week. I wondered how busy it gets on the weekends. We came in through the wrong door and the line was actually up to door at the correct entrance. And here I thought the parking lot was full because of the gym next door and people's New Years resolutions were still swinging. Nope-- it's the bagel place. I was impressed by how fast the line moved because even though it was crazy long (and as soon as it finished another line made its way back up to the door again), they quickly got people's orders with the cashier bouncing from one check out to another. I didnt see my child's macaroni and cheese, but she also got a brownie and said that it was good-- as long as my kid doesn't complain I have no complaints . I myself got an everything bagel with cream cheese. I saw someone else get a bagel with cream cheese and it was loaded up so I was happy thinking that mine would be too but for some reason it was light cream cheese which kind of annoying but I didn't check until I had got to my car and had to run. The guy next to me did order his cream cheese light, so they might have mixed them up, or the person at the table I saw ordered extra. So now I don't know what's an appropriate amount of cream cheese. Either way, kind of disappointing. I also got an iced decaf sugar-free hazelnut latte and I'm happy that they were able to accommodate for that I'm always trying to find places to have more sugar-free options in their coffee. I actually like the ambience of this place, it seemed very old school with the tile and the black & white color. I actually like when cafes and diners look like people actually visit them instead of the cold, stark personality that most have nowadays because it's just deterring for me. I either want something that looks old school or to look like a Grandma's house and this place was great. I see lots of bad reviews for this place, but obviously it's very busy and even though we didn't actually get a full sit down meal this time, I was happy that we have this option close by. My kids love Brooklyn cafe. Their favorite thing to order is the everything bagel with egg, bacon and cheese. They refer to it as "bagel cheese". My favorite is the breakfast wrap. The hash browns and onions really add a wonderful texture and flavor. I wish they had a little more seating inside, but the place is always clean and the line always moves quickly. Brooklyn Cafe has been around for a long time in our area, but for some reason I've never gotten around to going there. I stopped in to rectify that on a busy Saturday. A lot of places like this are not busy on weekends, but this place certainly was. I got a Hangover Burger, a Pistachio Sweet Cream cold brew, and a chocolate chip scone. The Hangover Burger comes with cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled onions, jalapenos, ketchup, and a fried egg on top. The sandwich was well put together, I could pick it up even though it was fresh and hot. Not too spicy even with jalapenos. Overall exactly what I expected. The pistachio cold brew sounded like fun. You definitely get the pistachio, and it goes down easy. A good choice from their spring drinks menu. The scone was interesting, maybe in the uncanny valley between soft and crisp. Good flavor but I would try a cookie or something else next time. They have nice outdoor seating, and it was a beautiful day so that was full. The decor inside is mostly sketches of New York City, so consistent with the name. The men's room was in pretty good shape for how busy the place was. Came here on a Saturday close to closing and wanted to see if they really did make New York style Bagels. I'm always on the search for bagel that is true and made the traditional way. Some bagels out there are nothing but nasty fluffy white bread through and through and should just referred to as a nasty bread donut. Fortunately these were great! I purchased the everything bagel and brought them home to toast and try. Their bagels are correctly made, as they are boiled and then baked so on the inside they have a nice chewy almost gummy texture and on the outside and nice crisp crack to him. They're everything sprinkle was very good although I will say it is a little bit heavy on the salt. I definitely recommend Brooklyn Cafe for their bagels! We love coming here with the kids because there is something for everyone. On a cold day like yesterday, we sat inside. On a nice day you can definitely sit outside and people watch as well! The strawberry bagel was light and so was the cream cheese. The show stopper was their bagel or the month. I was so impressed by the flavor of the pepperoni pizza bagel and the spicy sundried tomato spread was amazing - definitely spicy and hearty.
