Brought my car in from recommendation of another provider who couldn't do work due to equipment issues only after waiting over an hour in that providers lobby as they worked on their equipment. I was a drop in and although they had a quite a few cars in process, they got my car up on rack to show me the issue since I was waiting. Owner confirmed I had leak and bracket breakage which I knew about the bracket already but it the leak. They showed me and talked thru each issue. Repaired my car in a matter of minutes and had me back on road. They were absolutely courteous, upfront on the issues and quickly repaired it. It was a relatively minor issue I guesss and something they see regularly with my make/model. Could have charged me for their time/supplies, and I would have happily paid, but they did not. Maybe it's because it was a relatively simple repair but they are a for profit business, so it is more than that. Says a great deal about these owners, their integrity and honesty and their love of community. Would highly recommend this family owned business to anyone with exhaust repair needs. read more

I needed to replace a tire on my daughters Scion and did so at Discount Tire. In addition to a ruined tire (screw in edge of tread) she also had a busted lug bolt from changing brake pads. The manager at Discount Tire recommended Katy Exhaust Pros on Mason as they are very reasonably priced. I called and they quoted $30.. seemed quite low as this bolt has a chrome outside. Nevertheless I arrived and they charged me exactly that.. fast install too. The shop is an older place run by two old hands that seem to know their business well. Since the 1960s, I've been a believer in "letting my fingers do the walking". To avoid wasting my time when I was in a time crunch, I called first to verify the cost and the address. In addition, I said I would be there in approximately 30 minutes. After driving to their location, only after arrival did a shop person advise it would be several hours before they could work on my S.U.V. I responded the correct time to tell me that was when I called in advance to make sure I wasn't wasting my time and not waiting until I had already driven over there. read more

I was getting some repairs done by my personal mechanic, and he ran into some bolts that he couldn't get out. He said any exhaust repair service would have the tools to cut them out, should take about 30 minutes, and shouldn't cost that much. I called Katy Exhaust Pros Plus, the guy on the phone had a bad attitude, said he couldn't see me 'til later in the week. (I ignored the red flag). I could try bringing it in Thursday morning first thing. Which I did. Called later THrusday afternoon, they hadn't looked at it, they'd begin Friday am. I called Friday late am, and they still hadn't looked at it, he'd call me after lunch. I called 3:30-4 PM. The guys says they need 'til at least Wednesday/THursday next week to look at it, and figure out what to do with it. His attitude hadn't improved since Monday. I told him I just need a couple bolts cut out, shouldn't take that long to do the job. At that point he got really mad, and yelled "I can't take a torch to it with all that f---ing oil in there." And he hung up on me. I never said anything about using a torch. After giving myself a few minutes to cool down, and find a ride up there to the shop, I called back and told the guy (someone new) to pull my car around front, I was coming to pick it up. I don't know what pissed the guy off so much : 1. that I was asking him to do a small job that my mechanic didn't have the tool to take care of; or 2, that I was a woman who refused to play the male dominate job game; "women are stupid about care repairs and should let the men decide what needs to be done, especially if they can drag it out, and add in extra repairs and labor costs." I'm a widow who's had to take care of care repairs all by myself for the last few years. I don't have the luxury of sending my husband to get the repairs done. I also can't afford the luxury of playing stupid, because I've already had that game cost me too much time and money. I will never be an automotive expert, but I have to have at least some idea of what's going on with my car, as well as the amount of time and money it's going to cost me, so I don't get myself dug into a financial hole that I cannot get myself out of. Katy Exhaust Pros gave me the gut feeling that they had every intention of going to extremes with me. I found someone else to do the job. It took less than an hour for a little over $100. Katy Exhaust Pros had if for 2 days and did nothing, and wanted to keep it at least a week, just to cut out some bolts, after which the bolts probably wouldn't have been touched. read more

Located in the back once you see a huge trailer on the curb bearing the business' name. Always a friendly staff person that will give you accurate hold times for your vehicle. Brought in my '67 Mustang on a Saturday morning to replace an old muffler that finally split like an overripe cantaloupe. Within 45 minutes, Chris had custom fabricated a new exhaust for me from the downpipe to the tailpipe. The new setup looks great, sounds perfect, and cost less than anything I could have ordered online. Roger and Chris are a dying breed in the industry, guys that can turn wrenches, bend pipes and fix cars that don't have a computer to tell you what's wrong. So I just wanted to update my review to reflect the fact that I was actually absolutely correct in thinking that my thermostat was actually the culprit as to why my Check Engine Light on. I had told him this from the get-go, but he told me that I was probably wrong about this, hence the diagnostic, which resulted in him clearing the codes, which didn't actually handle the issue, because 2 days later, my CEL came back on, same codes too. So instead of dealing with him trying to figure out what HE thought the issue was, I just decided to fix the issue myself. So I bought all the supplies and tools I needed and ended-up changing the Thermostat, did a coolant flush (Which, btw, the COMPLETELY WRONG coolant was in my car [not this places fault, but watch out for that kind of shit in general]) and I did my own full-synthetic + premium Oil-Filter & air filter, which ended up costing me about half of what it would have cost me to get that done which a lube shop. Point is, I think this place is good, but that was a really quick "fix" that was presented to me as a solution. So I have mixed feelings about this place. But hey, they fixed my folks work van, so I won't complain, but I tell you what: BRING YOUR OWN PARTS. It'll seriously drive the cost down like mad, their parts mark-up is pretty nuts, but then again, I think they use OEM parts, so that would cost more anyway. Either way, they're happy and that's what matters. All in all, I say go here. They won't cheat you. Roger is still honest, so give him a shot. I wouldn't trust the other guy too much though, him and the lady at the front desk seem to exaggerate a little, so it'll cost you more $$$ if you let them talk you into it. Just don't fret, use common sense & talk to Roger and you'll do alright here. Cheers! read more

I took my SIENNA to fix check engine light P0300, the owner couldn't fix it.....he had me bought two igniter coils and all 6 spark plugs, plus labors, and I spent more than $1000 bucks try to fix. The light went off for 2 weeks, and it came back on again.......when I demanded the owner at the place to fix again, he ignored, and told me my car is a crappy thing!!!! read more

This place is a rip off and owner wife's who also works at KISD one of the elementary school is rude and want to pick a fight every time you bring your concerns to her. I took my Nissan Altima as it was hesitant and it had one of the spark plug coil broken (which I found out after I had the car inspected by another Mechanic), they kept the car for the whole day and told me they fixed it with 5 mins of driving it had the same problem. I brought the car to them and they asked to bring it back tomorrow and after keeping it whole day mentioned its fixed. Charged me twice and still had the same problem 5 mins into drive. After I took it to another mechanic who found out in less than 10 mins that one of the coil was broken and no one actually opened the head gasket to view it. Earlier I had taken my my Town & Country there and they replaced Radiator 4 times before getting it right to stop the leak in the process charged me 4 times and refuse to take responsibility for it continuously leaking as I was buying brand new radiator and we replaced it 4 times in 3 months. read more

I talk to them about getting an flomaster exaust dumped in front of my rear axle. On the phone they quoted me 265$ and said they have everything in stock. I get there and they tell me it's gonna be 480$ for the flomaster dump. But they have a knock off brand that equal to flomaster and will put that in on for 285$. Man this place is a joke. read more

I take my car to Roger every time I need any repairs. They are very friendly here, they give free quotes, and their pricing seems very fair. I've had my brakes done, my AC replaced, and a few other minor repairs. Every time I leave with my car, Roger says, "Call me back or bring the car back if you have any problems!" I only had to once, and he had it fixed the same day, no extra charge. They are very fast, too. I highly recommend this shop for your car repairs! read more

We recently took our car here to replace the exhaust system. Everything seamed great until we had some work done at another mechanic who let me know that the exhaust is missing number of bolts, some that should have been the new bolts were also rusted so we could tell they didn't even use the new parts. Now my brand new exhaust is leaking and the leaking has caused my gaskets to rust and break. When I took it in they told me the car vibrated the bolts off. I'm sorry but 3 months of driving wouldn't cause this. I even called to check with my mechanic is this could be true, they stated that that would be almost impossible. The shop offered nothing but an argument that they vibrated off. I might be a female but I'm not stupid when it comes to cars and I am smart enough to get a 2nd opinion. Beware bringing your car here. You'll get half the job done and end up with problems down the road, like an exhaust leak and rusted bolts that should be new. Sometimes it's better to just apologize, I won't be coming back here. read more
