* Food was normal, not really as I expected
* Menu too simple, not much choice especially for lunch you can't order appetizers
* portion too small and too pricey
* It looks like most of people get the plate, miso and pickles on tray
However, when we went there, we were just given a plates with everything on it
I understand that it might be due to the limit space on the table, but I would still expect the food to arrive with the same portion.
We ordered Hire Katsu Curry and Tonkatsu Katsu Curry, the plate was in an oval shape, with rice and pickles on 1 side with rice, the other side they put the cutlet on top and then pour the curry on top, because of plate was too small and cutlets took too much space, it run out of place for curry
My plate came in with really less curry, i finished the meal with lots of left over rice.
The worst thing is they forgot our Miso Soup which were supposed to included in the meal set and being served at the beginning of the meal
We didn't ask at first because we thought it will be served after meal (even though it will be weird to do so), but it was never come. We checked with our waiter and she told us it should be served in the beginning and she apologized us for that
We actually accepted that at that time but another thing happened
Apparently the man that brought the food to us (I think he is either manager or owner), he was standing right behind us when the waitress explained and apologized to us, he didn't say a word when it was happening like that, only when the waitress about to print out receipt to us, he came to her place and SNATCHED the machine, he sounds abit annoyed and said would take out the green tea out of the bill as a complimentary (which only cost 2$ and we ordered only 1)
I honestly don't care if they don't give us discount or any complimentary because they did asked us if we still want to have our miso soups and we refused (because it was long after meal and we didn't feel like to have the miso anymore)
We were surprised and shocked at the way the manager/owner handled this situation.
Despite of the fact he was the person who forgot the miso, he didn't say anything when we asked the waitress until the moment he was rude to the girl and in front of us, he never checked on us if we okay to have the tea as complimentary. Just doing thing in his way, that's not really nice and professional.
I never give any bad reviews at any places because we understand when things got busy, there might be mistakes so we usually give it another try next time
Unfortunately, Katsu Gin gave me really bad impression, nothing really speacial about their food that could convince me to go back.
I could get better with same quality and more affordable price at different place.
P/s: the manager/owner couldn't even pronounce the food name correctly (Hiri Katsu instead of Hirwhile the waitresses could do it. We do understand that not so many people know how to pronounce a non-english word but you should know more about the things you sell in your restaurant, better than the customer. read more
