Others commented on the extraordinary quality of the fish. I thought it was fine, but not exceptional. This is an acceptable place to grab a quick lunch in a college town.

When I walked in, the place smelled like mildew but I still hoped for the best. I waited a while for the one person behind the counter to finally say something to me. She was working on another order and didn't even acknowledge my presence. I almost turned around and left after a few minutes (I had people waiting for me in the car since I was getting it to go) but I decided to wait. I decided on a bowl. They didn't have a lot of options but it looked like enough (or I had hoped) to make a nice bowl. Upon close inspection, the fish looked gooey, the rice looked undercooked so I got the spring mix, and the other toppings were meh. Everything put on the dish was more like a sprinkle than a spoonful. At the end of the line I had a bowl that was half full and mostly a small amount of green leafy stuff. The dish was absolutely not worth the price. I did eat it. When I finally got into the car and tried the food, I should have stopped when I found the spring mix had pieces way past their prime. I also should have stopped when I found the fish to be goopy and room temp. Long story short, it was a very small portion of less than stellar quality ingredients. I felt like heck about an hour later (not fun on a car trip). It was lunch time and the only food I ate that day. I should have started a fast at that moment.

Came across Longbao on Yelp on a gross, rainy day. Soup sounded perfect. Longbao is in a shopping…read morecenter with plenty of free parking. The restaurant has a sushi restaurant vibe with a playlist that will make anyone who is a fan of the 90s singing in their seat. The owner, Juan, is very friendly and happily shares lots of information about the restaurant, the food, and the ingredients. We started with the soup dumplings, which are steamed fresh to order. They were awesome. The soup was rich and flavorful and the dumpling was soft. We got the miso ramen, the beef noodle soup and the seafood noodle soup. These broths were incredible. They are apparently cooked for 18+ hours. The noodles were chewy and thick. Loved everything and we will be back.

Conveniently located in Newark Shopping Center, they have plenty of parking. They seemed to have a lot of takeout orders coming in, and they have plenty of tables for dining in (appeared clean and well maintained). I had a very friendly greeting, learned a lot about the menu offerings, and was offered plenty of time to decide what I wanted to order on this first visit. I went with Soup Dumplings, Japanese Shu Mai, and Beef Udon Noodles. All was very good. Perfect meal for a cold night. In my opinion the soup (in the soup dumplings) was light on flavor, but still good. The Shu Mai was full of flavor and the perfect crunch, and the udon noodles were very good. I would definitely go back and try more new things.
