I came to this location back in 2022 and really enjoyed it. But when I visited earlier this month, I was surprised by how expensive all the dishes were and by the average taste of our dishes. We paid $20 for a couple pieces of French toast and bacon, which I know I could have made better at home, frankly. Perhaps we should have gotten another dish, but I couldn't fathom paying $20 for a breakfast taco or "pancake balls". Additionally, the maple cold brew was super bitter. I don't see myself coming back again. On the bright side, there is parking in the back which is great, the atmosphere is cute and perfect for a little brunch, and the staff was nice.
Yelp asked, " do you recommend this restaurant?" And I said YES of course!! Since going to Katalina's with a friend a few months ago, I've come back with visitors and it's been a hit every time. The Latina sandwich was absolutely delicious with that perfect scratch the roof of your mouth sourdough; that's when you know it's the real deal. The next time I went I ordered the hens in a basket and it was oh so delicious and filling!! I wasn't too crazy about the purple potatoes but I was able to see past it. If you have a sweet tooth like me I would definitely recommend their pancake balls! They're famous for a reason!! They come either filled with Nutella or dulce de leche or you can go halfsies. The pancake balls are a little steep but SO worth it and are perfect for sharing with friends.
Such a cute and kitschy little joint packed with flavor and full of Clintonville energy! The service is always super quick, and they have a delightful little patio on High st :) Parking isn't great, and it's a little pricey for small plates that feel like food truck fare, but I've never had anything there that wasn't delicious! If you're not getting the pancake balls, are you even at Katalina's?! Highly recommend
Quick service and it wasn't super busy! We got the famous pancake bits half Nutella and half Dulce de leche. I preferred the Dulce de leche over the Nutella. I got the Latino Sandwich with veggies sausage and my husband got the burrito. Overall everything was good nothing like overly amazing that I would have to have again

Went to Katalina's for brunch. At this time, the restaurant was empty. Before ordering was greeted and told to take my time and ask as many questions as needed. The dining room was clean and the staff came by to check to see if needed anything. Will definitely go back to get more of the famous pancake balls. The service overall was outstanding.
The restaurant was spotlessly clean! Order at the counter before you take a seat. I ordered the French toast with bacon. I had the regular bacon and it was meaty. My French toast was tasty. I was a little surprised that they did not have sugar free syrup available. I also was a little surprised by the food being served in cardboard baskets. For the price, I expected dishes and not disposable items. My husband enjoyed his Sammie! I would definitely come again.
The food was delicious and the pancake balls were great. I do wish the pancake balls had more filling though. The staff were friendly, but the wait for the food was so long. It took more than 30 minutes to get 3 food items when the restaurant wasn't packed and there was not a line to order food. The interior was nice, but was kind of cramped between seats.
We have been here a handful of times and it's always SOO good! Great patio for the summer. Get the pancake balls! The spicy bacon is great. Lots of vegan options as well. The breakfast tacos used to get a side of elote but now it's the purple sweet potato hash. Bring back the elote!!!! Hehe
Although they have location in Clintonville and Harrison West, I tried the location on North High Street. Finding the parking lot was a little tough since it's tucked away back via a side alley and there was a lot of construction going on, but the restaurant itself was nicely decorated and big! The okonomiyaki (potato pancake) was different from the traditional as it is a Latin leaning, breakfast version with cabbage inside and eggs and bacon bits on top. You can also make this vegetarian by taking out the bacon bites on top. The breakfast tacos were also a solid option, with avocados, cabbage, and eggs, with elote on the side. The pancake balls were definitely my favorite, since it was crunchy on the outside and doughy inside. You could choose from a variety of fillings including nutella, dulce de leche, and organic pumpkin apple butter. I chose the pumpkin apple butter and it was really good! You can also choose a flavor of bacon including sweet and spicy or original. They even have veggie sausages as a vegetarian option! The sweet and spicy bacon was very slightly spicy and was a thick slice that was hefty! As for drinks, they have orange juice, blood orange juice, and cold brews readily available in the coolers. They have seating indoors and outdoors--definitely try their patio during nice weather! Service is more self-serve after you get your food but they did clean the tables for us, which was nice!
First timer at the High Street location. Early Tuesday arrival and we had the pick of tables on their 5* patio! Extensive menu. We had the avocado toast (huge portion) and the blue corn tortilla BLT. That was very unique! Walk up to order and they deliver the goods. Great service all around and the people we met were very smiley! Thank you for a great start to our day.
Tried it 2 bites in not what i was thinking. Its okay not what I would order again. 2 out of 5 flavor was just tasted the black pepper.chicken was dry and soggy look like it was fried but then sand bag. My honest opinion just looks like a French toast with chicken fingers with cheese. Was excited to come try out since 3D did a show. But it not what i except. Service was good its mainly self order not restaurant style. We came from Vegas and wanted to try it out unfortunately it not what i expected and mostly a 1 and done kind of restaurant. The vibe is good very roomy and was able to seat 8 of us at the restaurant.
Came to this place because it was highly rated and located near our Airbnb in Columbus. Found the restaurant easily enough and there was parking directly behind the restaurant that could be accessed from the alley. The menu had so many great choices! We settled on the eggs in the basket with over easy eggs and the breakfast tacos. Food came quickly, and was hot and fresh. We enjoyed both entrees accompanied by the peaches and scream salsa! As for the food, the elote corn was so tasty! The potatoes were very flavorful, and the breakfast tacos were a hit with both of us! This salsa is not locally produced as it's produced in Denver Colorado. The service was friendly and attentive as well as helpful with the menu. We love all the quotes on the walls and the interior décor.
It's legendary for a reason. I've been eating at Katalina's forever but the lines are just too intense on the weekends. I managed to stop in on a weekday afternoon and fell in love all over again. The breakfast tacos with the veggie sausage made my eyes roll back in my head. Everything was perfectly cooked, the sauce is delicious, and the shells are phenomenal. The elotes was perfect I wish I had more. Everything they do is killer. My main squeeze had migas with avocado toast that delivered but they said it was a lot of egg and they wish they had gotten something else. read more

Let me just start by saying this food is AMAZING! This is such a cute spot and I love the outdoor seating. They had a variety of options for breakfast or lunch. Tried the award winning breakfast tacos and they were delicious. Obviously, couldn't forget their pancake balls which were also delicious!! There's not a ton of parking, so plan on finding alternative parking on the street! Pricing for the meal was about $40 which seemed a little pricey for a breakfast, so this wouldn't be an every weekend breakfast. I would definitely come back for a treat yourself type of breakfast though!! read more

SO so incredibly good. Katalina's has adorable seating and decor, plenty of hot sauces to choose from, and an easy pay at counter system. Oh and wait - THE FOOD. Everything sounds incredible, and though I've only had migas with avo toast, I cannot wait to work my way through the expansive menu. Ambiance gets full marks - consider Katalina's for a nice breakfast/brunch date or a slightly nicer experience to treat yourself to. The prices correspond with the quality, so be aware of that as you indulge. read more

I've had Katalina's twice now and both times have been nothing short of amazing. The pancake balls they are famous for are light and fluffy with decadent fillings. I've opted for dulce de leche both times and never been disappointed. This time I went for the breakfast chicken sandwich but I asked if the eggs could be scrambled instead of fried and they were able to accommodate this easily. When it arrived I was impressed with the very large piece of chicken. The cross section is making me hungry now just looking at it. This was a fabulous sandwich I would absolutely have again. The purple potato hash it comes with was also very flavorful. The horchata cold brew was delicious when mixed up but it did tend to settle so I'm not sure I'd get it again. I haven't eaten in Katalina's since the start of the pandemic. My wife ordered our food the night before and selected pickup. We went for a run and timed it so that we would finish out front, pick up our food and then head home after eating. The staff was very professional and brought our order our as soon as it was ready. People seemed to be respectful of each others space and kept their distance. I got the Breakfast Chick'wich - not your run-of-the-mill breakfast chicken sandwich. The chicken was fried masterfully and very juicy on the inside. Combined with the eggs and the cheese, this is going to become a new breakfast favorite for me. The pancake balls are fantastic but all of their food is good. I didn't add the hot sauce to the sandwich but I might just give that a try next time. I will be back. read more

Wow, that's all I can really say about Katalina's! A lot of places make really off the wall and interesting foods, but this place has to take the (pan)cake. I will admit we showed up later in the day and they were starting to clean up, but they were just as happy to see us as if we were the first customer. The menu is kind of daunting, but they do a good job at listed out what's on each sandwich. I settled on the Mazatlan Slow-Roasted Pork & Egg Sandwich and I was blown away. So much flavor and complexity, it was like a symphony in my mouth. The pork was balanced but the avocado, then you had the egg and cheese, so good! We also had an order of the dulce de leche pancake balls which were sweet and fluffy, a perfect combo. We'll be back! read more

This was amazing! First time my friend and I have ever eaten here. The service was friendly and fast, even on a game day! I had the southern fried chicken sandwich and chips with pick, he had the BLT tacos and avocado toast. As people that try restaurants all over Columbus HANDS DOWN top 5 I've been to in Columbus and he said the same thing. Super good will definitely be back soon! This place is very comforting. The space is clean and has a warm welcoming vibe. Super colorful and we'll put together. You choose your own sitting and pretty much take care of yourself. They only bring the food to the table and sanitize after you clean up your area. You order your food first and they hand you a number and you can pick your own table. You also serve and prepare your own coffee. Thunderkiss Coffee - locally brewed. Not too strong. Perfect I'd you like blonde to medium coffees. Good on caffeine. I typically drink mine strong. This would be a good cold pressed as well. Pancake balls. We mixed and matched ours. Half nutella and half dulce de leche. They're pretty big. Served with a protein. Very good. Fried. Quite filling. (my kid loved them) Latin-leaning Okonomiyaki - highly recommended if you like asian cuisine. It was very filling.The yellow sauce added a hint of sweetness that pair the red sauce very well. Little to no spice. So if you like heat ask for a hot sauce. read more
I truly can never say enough about this place, its one of my favorite spots in Columbus! Anytime someone asks me for a good breakfast spot to try, Katalinas is always my first choice. Two words: Pancake balls . If you haven't had them yet, you are seriously missing out. This isn't the only good thing about this spot though. They have awesome breakfast tacos, sandwiches and other delicious meals. Don't sleep on the sweet and spicy bacon either! It is always a treat (literally) going here and getting an order of the pancake balls and trying another item on the menu. I haven't had one yet that's disappointed. 10/10! Loved my first experience here and will absolutely be returning. The breakfast tacos were delicious and just the right amount of food. The corn on the cob had a unique seasoning that added a nice touch too. The pancake balls were everything I was expecting - soft, a little crunchy on the ends, and a good amount of filling. I shared the pancake balls and everyone was smiling after taking a bite. The waiter was kind and the service was quick. I highly recommend if you're looking for a restaurant that serves food with a different style than typical breakfast places. read more

I had high expectations, but I was let down by my first visit. It was difficult figuring out where the customer parking was, which was frustrating as this is a busy road. Maybe it was our fault for coming in on a holiday, but inside was packed with no organized way of seating- after you order, you just have to wait for a table to open. Once seated, it took 30-40 min for our orders to come out. Normally I do not have an issue with longer wait times (again, especially with a holiday) but I was most disappointed to find that everyone's entrees came out cold. The breakfast tacos were average and falling apart as I was eating them due to the soggy tortilla. I appreciated the cute interior but probably would not return. read more
Free parking, cash free transactions and social distancing measures in place is just the beginning. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. I kept reading about the Pancake balls so I had to try them. So glad I stopped in. They were delicious! I had Nutella filled Pancake Balls and sweet and spicy bacon. I didn't like the bacon so next time I'll get regular bacon. The restaurant was clean, the menu could be scanned with a QR code and the service was quicker than I expected. You can't go wrong with anything you order! Obviously, you need to try the Original Pancake Balls (I recommend the dulce de leche). They're famous for a reason! The Classico Grilled Cheese with Holy Tomole Soup is my favorite grilled cheese in Columbus. They put a peach-habanero jam on the sandwich--game changer! I also dream about the Huge! Mazatlan Slow-Roasted Pork & Egg Sandwich--the pork is killer and all of the toppings are perfect and it really is HUGE. Another great sandwich is the Pueblo BLT Sandwich with the sweet 'n spicy bacon. YUM. And don't even get me started on the tacos. A must try! I know it seems like I love everything on the menu and that's because I do and you will too! read more

Nothing too spectacular here. A bit on the pricey side too. The Mexican french toast is a bit underwhelming. I'm not sure what's Mexican about it. They have a pork sandwich that comes served on a thick roll with a spicy sweet sauce and slaw on it too. I like this better. It's served with non GMO corn chips from Shelby county Ohio, where I am from. The parking in back is limited. The staff is nice. The benches to sit in are hard and they hurt my butt. The bathroom is clean. read more

I had such a fulfilling delicious brunch sandwich here: the vegan Impossible pepper patty. It was a bit on the pricey side ($15.50) for me because of the burger, and if you order it without any add-ons, it can be greasy on the hands with all the cheese and oil, but some people might like that. I added my own slices of tomatoes which balanced out the flavors a lot more. You can also pay for avocado or lettuce add-ons. Overall, it tasted fantastic. Staff were super friendly and timely. Wish I could dine in for the future, but they'll need to have more vegan options! read more
My first stop in to this new Katalina's, the place was packed with people inside and out, several people were waiting for a table to open, it was just too much of a hassle, so our group of six left and had brunch elsewhere. We tried again, this time meeting at 8:30 am on a Sunday morning. Plenty of open seating, and no lines (yay!!).the new space is bigger; almost double to space indoor and out. Silverware and napkins are in a canister on the tables. Get your own water at the filling station; otherwise, they'll bring your choice of liquid refreshment to your table. Since I'm nixing bread/grains for now, I ordered their Mazatlan Sunrise Sammy minus the toast it comes on. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the taste, considering I was preparing for the sauce to be quite spicy. The opposite, actually. The roasted peppers combined with the housemade ranchero sauce gave a bold the dish a tasty flavor! Obviously, depending on the day and time you show up, be prepared to wait. The staff is pleasant and efficient, wiping down tables as soon as possible for the next party waiting. The bathrooms were nice and clean, too. Plus, there's plenty of metered and FREE parking on the off streets! read more

The food is good, but pricey. I get it. When you source locally, it tends to be more expensive. Two adults and a small child came to $40. We ordered two sandwiches and the pancake balls and shared everything among the three of us. We did not have leftovers. Our sandwiches each came with a bag of tortilla chips. They were thick and grainy, and I couldn't decide if I actually liked them, but I also couldn't stop eating them. The huge mazatlan sandwich has pulled pork, egg, avocado. The pork has a little zing to it. I didn't end up liking it as much as the Katalina Latina sandwich which we ordered with regular, rather than spicy, bacon. It's an egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich, but it's elevated by the prime ingredients. The pancake balls were great, if a little greasy. We got the Nutella filling. I felt like they were something we had to try, but I may not order again. You get a couple pieces of bacon and some maple syrup with 7 pancake balls. They seem too expensive for fried dough. We will probably return to Katalina's, but not often. read more

Great food every time. One of our go tos for people visiting Columbus. Prices are steep- especially for a simple egg and toast, but high quality ingredients and portions usually large enough for leftovers. Lots of vegan/veg options and substitutions available! read more

I visited this place again recently and I am still a fan of the pulled pork breakfast sandwich. The staff is always nice and I love the festive environment. I wish there were more options on beverages and perhaps some alcoholic offerings but that's just a personal thing. Keep up the great work. read more

This Saturday I tried a new place. Katalina's in the heart of Clintonville is a one of a kind restaurant that you're going to love. It has indoor and outdoor seating and gives you that welcoming feeling from the moment you enter. The "Latin leaning and Southern slanted" food is not only delicious, but also homemade. Katalina's is open 7 days a week 8am-3pm. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. If you're closer to the short north you may want to check out their Harrison West location. read more

If you want a change from conventional american breakfast of omelette, scrambled eggs, and typical pancakes? Then go here. I loved everything we ordered here, they do have concise menu but they are spot on, although the same thing would not make me go here again until a long time. Their orange juice was fantastic, do get at least one of it to try. It is sort of self service Restaurant wherein you order up front and the server gets the food for you! When you drive up at this joint, make sure you go a little slow to understand how to get to the parking because of its location you may have to keep turning around over and over again. read more

First visited Katalina's at their OG location back in November and was blown away! I absolutely loved their bacon and their pancake balls - even though I ordered their french toast (which was good, not the best I've had), my boyfriend and I wound up splitting our dishes since he clearly made the superior choice. We also really enjoyed their coffee - so rich and strong, the perfect cup for a Sunday AM! I was excited to try the new Clintonville location with some co-workers, but unfortunately, didn't live up to the OG Katalina's. I was torn between trying the breakfast taco or staying with the pancake balls that I had dreamed so fondly of. I wound up going with the balls, and I was a little disappointed. I got 50/50 of the Nutella and the dulce de leche (as we did last time), but the filling was so scant in the balls. Previously, the balls were overflowing with goodness, but definitely not the case this time - I had one that was pretty stuffed with Nutella, but the other ones were barely filled. The overall flavors were still there, but definitely could have used an extra scoop of the good stuff. I also realized halfway through eating that I never received the syrup, which is the best part! After acquiring some of the bourbon-infused syrup (genius, by the way), my meal was amped up a good bit, but still not as good as I remember. The sweet and spicy bacon was on point as before, the perfect salty and savory compliment to the sweet bites. It could have been a littttle bit crispier, but I still enjoyed it! Lastly, the coffee was as good as the last time - felt even more smooth and bold this time around, so I was a fan. Went back for refills, which is a great sign :) Overall, I still enjoy Katalina's, but I recommend visiting the Harrison West location to get the full experience. It's a great spot for breakfast regardless, and make sure to get that bacon! But for me, next time, definitely going for the tacos to try something new :) read more
