As a long time fan of Katalina's I have been wanting to check out this location for awhile, glad we finally made the trip! It was pretty crowded which wasn't surprising for lunch on a Saturday, but we were able to order and one of the servers helped us with a high chair and clean off a table without more than two minutes of a wait which was fantastic. There is definitely more room to sit inside with the newer location, and the menu I think is the same. I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup which is delicious. There is a jelly to the sandwich that makes it extra awesome! My friend got the chicken sandwich, I forget what it's called but it's vegan and also really good. The whole experience was great and the staff were also super friendly and helpful! Will be back for sure! read more

I did get the wrong order but I ate it anyway. The space inside is kind of cramp, but they do have outside dining. I thought the employees were ok. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally we were in the area! Yes!! We arrived shortly after opening so parking was no problem. I think we brought everyone with us because just after ordering people started coming in pretty steady. Hubby ordered the Chorizo Tacos with Mexican corn. And I ordered the Pancake balls with Dulce de leche. We both had the Thunderkiss Coffee. We decided we were going to share our dishes so we could try a little of both. So we ordered at the counter and they give you a number to put on your table for them to bring your order out to you. The coffee is self serve with a variety of condiments to add to it. The coffee was delicious. We found a seat by a window. Very clean and industrial feeling. Nice relaxed vibe. Cozy. Wasn't long and our food was out. The tacos were nice size and had a wonderful flavor. Corn was yummy. My pancake balls were very good. I didn't know what to expect. I thought the filling was going to gush out as I bit into it. You could tell Katalinas is up and kicking during the pandemic and I must say that includes the Clintonville location as well! Looking for brunch and I never visited this location. So much space! Friendly staff and safe procedures in place, this is the Katalinas I know and love. I have been going to Harrison West location for years and the pancake balls are a favorite! But I know to try more of their offerings after this visit! I got the Katalinas Southern Fried Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich! Crisp veggies with a hot protein is *chef's kiss* perfect for me. We'd been to the other Katalina's and loved the food, but the weekend crowds in a tiny spot were a pain. When this one opened I kept an eye on it, since it was bigger and more handy for us. Finally tried it, after seeing a friend's post of the okonomiyaki online. Went on a weekday mid-afternoon, and it wasn't busy Parking is crazy. There is a lot out back, but it's hard to get to. Not their fault, just the layout of streets and the Kroger lot. Park where you see the "Peace Love and Pancakes" sign. Inside, it's not as big as it seems from the front. Big patio, smallish indoor area reduced for distancing. Comfy, cozy. Great service, though of course it's minimal nowadays: order at the counter, and seat yourself. I got the okonomiyaki and some Mexican corn. Oko is basically pancakes made with potato flour (not shredded.) Topped with corn, cabbage, scallions, fried egg, and your choice of bacon. Every item was great, and added up to a superb whole. The corn was on the cob, fresh, dusted with seasoning. Also awesome. Juices and bottled pops. Bus yourself for now. Forever loving these pancake balls at Katalina's! They offer a variety of different fillings (Nutella, dulce de leche, pumpkin apple butter) and they are ALL perfect! I decided to get breakfast tacos today and loved them, but was left wanting pancake balls! The atmosphere of this location is amazing! First time here, stopped in to have lunch. It seemed to be popular as it was busy , not my kind of place tho. It's small and crowded. You have to order at the counter before you can get a table and the menue WAs printed on a blackboard wall and most of it I had no idea what it was. The second time I'm here for brunch and this place is definitely crowded. Got myself an egg basket and also had the pancake balls. First of all I wonder about restaurants that require or expect you to tip prior to getting served. Service ended up being bad and we gave a generous tip hoping you would get appropriate attention. It was almost $50 bill for just 2 people for a late breakfast meal and just for 3 items! My advise, wait on tipping and look for the tip jar for service counter restaurants and just tip after your experience. Wish we did this and truly regretted tipping upfront as they totally forgot about us and did not even check in and see how everything is. They just plop your food to your table and rush out back to the their grill stations. What's worse they were not even busy. It's our first time at this restaurant and thought we would try out due to reviews. They had our food sitting on the counter for what seemed forever and then they even tried to give our 3 items to the wrong customers. You will see in my picture that my taco by this time was all wilted and no longer crunchy and food cold. You can tell they just totally ignore their customers because they are so special. Food was tasty, unique but the service experience makes me give them a low rating. Not sure if we will be back but do pay attention and question why you are tipping upfront. Kicking myself for not having gone to Katalina's sooner! We got carry out on a Sunday morning on a whim. I had seen the pancake balls and just knew I had to have them. We tried plain and the pumpkin apple butter ones, the sweet and spicy bacon, and hens in a basket with the purple potato hash. I don't know what was my favorite part, everything was so good! The pancake balls were super addicting. The bacon was delicious and perfectly cooked. I loved the purple potato hash, honestly I could eat it every day and be happy. The portion to price ratio here is pretty solid for a breakfast place, I didn't feel like it was overpriced at all. We live about 10 mins from Katalina's and when we got home the food was still piping hot. And the carry out process is one of the best I've experienced. We pulled up, I called the number and told them where I was parked and exactly at 10:45 they brought out our food. I live for prompt service. I've always loved Katalina's, but never got a chance to check out the Clintonville location! I finally stopped here for brunch with some friends. There is parking in the back, but the sign can be a little misleading where it takes you. I ended up parking on the street and it's 2 hour parking. The inside is so big compared to the other location closer to downtown. There is inside and outside seating. We ended up sitting outside underneath an umbrella. There are some changes to their way of serving and getting water just because of social distancing. There was 5 of us, but I ordered the Hens in a Basket. It came with two sourdough toast with sunny side eggs in the middle, sweet and spicy bacon, and a purple potato hash. DELICIOUS!! The toast is actually slightly salted so when you dip the part they cut out into the yolk it's perfectly balanced. Their sweet and spicy bacon is to die for and honestly it's what I get every time!! That's how I was hooked the first time I went to Katalina's. Of course their Nutella balls covered in powdered sugar too! The food came fast and the servers and employees were so kind. Met a friend at Katalina's for brunch today and am happy to report it's as good as everyone says it is. I had the Mexican "French" toast, which was absolutely delicious. It was nice and crisp and the syrup it's paired with was really good, too. The best thing about Katalina's has to be the patio, though. We attempted to eat at the other location last year and it was way too packed. So we ventured out Saturday morning 11am to try the High St location. It was busy, but I was determined to hear what the buzz was about. Parking. Parked nearby at lot and it was a very short walk. They have outdoor seating and a decent amount of indoor seating. Music wasn't too loud and it has a hipster vibe to it. You order first then find a seat (a little different). Luckily a spot opened up by the window when we were placed our order. They don't take cash (...) and the register asks for tip before you get your food (sorry, this is a little weird for me. I tip based on experience, so asking before I get my food??). We ordered the Nutella Pancake balls, Mexican French Toast, extra Sweet n spicy bacon. $41 with tip. When the food came (15 minutes), I was a little underwhelmed by the portions for the price. The Mexican French toast had good flavor but I'm not sure what made it Mexican?? The Pancake balls were definitely awesome! Bite sized pockets of love lol. I really enjoyed Sweet n Spicy bacon. Just the right amount of heat. They only give 2 pieces of bacon with the French toast, so I ordered more. It was a little too crispy. So overall I left with a so-so impression. I had an amazing first experience here with takeout! The pancake balls with dulce were incredible and the perfect consistency of crispy outside and fluffy inside. My tea was also fresh which is wonderful! My coworkers have various other meals like the burritos and everything but the kitchen sand which and they raved about their meals as well! I do like Katalina's, but I'm not a regular. The food is 5-star quality, and always fresh, but it's very pricey and I consider a lot of the menu complicated. They offer a set menu and you can customize to some extent, but there is a lot going on in most of the dishes. I'm actually not sure if there is an egg and cheese sandwich. Most of them have a couple of sauces, meat, meat substitute, etc. Lately, I've been getting the avocado toast, which is made with thick cut local bread and has a generous serving of spiced pumpkin seeds for a flavor punch and crunch. It's very enjitoyable, but with a coffee it's about $15, so it is pretty pricey. I think the reason I'm not a huge fan is that, while they offer vegetarian options, they are pretty heavily focused on bacon and sausage substitutes. I certainly enjoy these, but most of the time, I'd rather have no meat than a protein substitute and prices that reflect this. With lines as long as they get, it's hard to see the menu board and customize while you're trying not to hold everything up. The menu board is hard to see. It takes up a full wall, and is very nicely designed, but again, when the place is packed (which it often is), it's difficult to take the full menu in over people's heads while you're in line. read more

I prefer to try a few different things on the menu and then post a review but sometimes it's just not possible and the review never gets done. This is based on a single visit and a really good experience. I've seen the parking in back notice and as I was out doing errands I used it. There are two handicap spaces in back and another four or so regular spaces. It's kinda tight. But there is also street parking nearby and it's in a totally walkable part of Clintonville. I imagine it's super busy on Farmer's Market Saturday. This was my first visit to either location. Katalina's has been around for years and I'm so glad I made it! I ordered the Pumpkin Apple Butter Pancake Balls with sweet and spicy bacon. There was still watermelon lemonade available in the coolers so that was my beverage choice. There's a water and coffee station between the ordering counter and seating. Condiments are also found there. Remember to take your number with you so your food can find you! There are several tables and a long high top table with seating. The high top was not clumsy for a shorty like me to navigate. The only downside was the high top had been wiped down recently and it felt a little sticky. It was a day for sightings! I recognized local writers Maggie Smith and Hanif Abdurraqib and the establishment's namesake. Other patrons included moms with small children, cyclists stopping to refuel, solitary brunchers, couples, and small families. The decor is eye catching and a pleasant environment to dine in. With the pancake ball flavor I chose, I had to take my time eating because the pumpkin apple butter is hot! The sweet and spicy bacon is exactly as billed. Deliciously sweet with a spicy heat that builds over time. My nose was actually running from two slices of bacon. The watermelon lemonade was refreshing and had watermelon pulp so some may not like it because of the texture. The restroom was clean and larger than most Clintonville residential bathrooms. Katalina's is always a solid choice! It's a staple to check out in the city. I'm thankful this location is now open. There are a lot more tables both inside and outside. It's still got that vintage feel, but has more of a gray color scheme with wooden tables and booths. I love all the string lights. Cute! It was slammed when we got here just past noon on Saturday. There was a line and most tables seemed taken. But people were going in and out of here, so we managed to snag a table. I ordered the cornbread with chorizo which came with eggs. My friends got BLT tacos, huevos rancheros, and the pulled pork tacos. Yum! It all tasted good and was filling. This location seems to appeal a lot more to families. I usually see a lot of college aged people and other young adults at the main one, but since this location is North, I saw more of a range of ages here. The staff was great! I'm so glad to see one of my favorite brunch spots in the city, spreading its wings into Clintonville. I stopped in for my first visit in their new space with a friend today and fell in love all over again. I'm so glad they listened to their customers and built this second location with additional seating and just overall more space. It's beautiful, funky, and still feels authentically Katalina's. I walked in through the front entrance, up a small flight of stairs, and grabbed a menu to browse. While I heard that this location has some new menu items, I eventually decided to stick with my go-to. The Katalina Latina Sandwich with veggie sausage. Seriously, this sammie is downright delicious. Fried eggs, vegetarian sausage, melted cheddar, tomatillo sauce, and snowville crema on toasted sourdough. YUMMO! It's hard for me to stray from this and I'm glad to see its also on the menu here. Our food came out really quickly, the lovely lady taking our order was friendly, and the giant water machine was an added bonus. Great place for brunch in Columbus, but be prepared for a decent wait on the weekends. We went a couple weekends ago and the wait for a table was 90 minutes. We put our name on the waitlist and went to walk around Kroger. The wait ended up being only about an hour. You order your food at the counter and then get a table number. Once your food is ready, it is brought out to your table. They were extremely busy so it took longer to get our food but it was all worth it. You get so much food for what you order and it is great for the price! Definitely need to get their award winning tacos, they are delicious and I love anything that has chorizo and avocado. I came here a few years ago and since then they added avocado toast, so of course I had to get that too. You get so many prices of it! Perfect to share with everyone. The other thing that is a must is their famous pancake balls. This is what they are known for and you can get them filled with apple-pumpkin butter, dulce de leche, or nutella! I've had Katalina's twice now and both times have been nothing short of amazing. The pancake balls they are famous for are light and fluffy with decadent fillings. I've opted for dulce de leche both times and never been disappointed. This time I went for the breakfast chicken sandwich but I asked if the eggs could be scrambled instead of fried and they were able to accommodate this easily. When it arrived I was impressed with the very large piece of chicken. The cross section is making me hungry now just looking at it. This was a fabulous sandwich I would absolutely have again. The purple potato hash it comes with was also very flavorful. The horchata cold brew was delicious when mixed up but it did tend to settle so I'm not sure I'd get it again. Was told an hour wait upon arrival and another hour to get our food from the kitchen. After an hour and a half had come and gone I asked how much further along the list we were, said at least another half hour. So after 2 hours of wait time to be seated and another 45 mins - an hour to get our food we were starving. I had the breakfast tacos, they were okay. Nothing to write home about. Wow, that's all I can really say about Katalina's! A lot of places make really off the wall and interesting foods, but this place has to take the (pan)cake. I will admit we showed up later in the day and they were starting to clean up, but they were just as happy to see us as if we were the first customer. The menu is kind of daunting, but they do a good job at listed out what's on each sandwich. I settled on the Mazatlan Slow-Roasted Pork & Egg Sandwich and I was blown away. So much flavor and complexity, it was like a symphony in my mouth. The pork was balanced but the avocado, then you had the egg and cheese, so good! My wife and I were specifically seeking out a place for brunch on a Sunday. We did a little bit of research and settled on this one, due to their vegetarian-friendly menu, positive reviews, and other unique qualities. There was enough parking in the back, though I imagine the lot will fill up at their busiest times. Walking in through the backdoor, I had the impression that it used to house a different sort of business, but if so, I like what they've done with it! I was a bit surprised about having to order at the counter, as I assumed it was more of a sit-down restaurant. There was a short line, which gave us just enough time to review the menu to solidify our decision. We chose to each order an entree (Ms. Katalina's Migas and Chile Relleno Casserole A Go-Go), plus an order of pancake balls to split, out of sheer curiosity. We were warned that we'll have plenty to eat, but not knowing when/if we'll get back, we figured we might as well try a few things. The dining room had a trendy vibe to it and if i'm being honest, made me feel a part of some well-kept secret. What does that even mean? I guess I just felt like it was a cool place to be on a Sunday afternoon, even if not a lot of people realize it. (although obviously many people do, because they were pretty busy) The food was enough to make me come back as well. The "Migas" was fairly tasty, which turned out to be some crunchy egg and fake-sausage mix, which doesn't sound that appealing, but was tasty. Oddly, I was most impressed with the avocado toast that was on top of it. My wife enjoyed her chile relleno as well. A bit spicy and a unique taste, it was a world apart from how my meal tasted. This wasn't a deal breaker, obviously. Overall, I like the space and the food. The service was fine, but there really isn't much in the way of service. Since you order at the counter and someone brings your food a little while later, you're pretty much on your own - silverware, water, napkins, to-go boxes, etc. We agreed we would make it back here at some point. This seemed like a popular Columbus spot, so I had to check it out. There are two locations so be sure to specify to anyone you're meeting up with! This location only has a few spots out back for parking, otherwise you'll just find some street spots. We came at 10am on a Sunday and there was a line back to the restrooms to order and seat. When we left closer to Noon there was surprisingly no line. The pancake balls are truly great. This alone will have me coming back. I had the pumpkin and Nutella ones. As far as other food, I got the Everything But the Kitchen Sink sandwich. It seemed to have what I would want, a salty and sweet combo, but I could have skipped this. It was executed well just maybe wasn't my thing. I heard someone in front of me talking about the spicy chicken sandwich amd maybe I'll try that one out. The breakfast tacos and the elote were tasty!
