I came to this location back in 2022 and really enjoyed it. But when I visited earlier this month, I was surprised by how expensive all the dishes were and by the average taste of our dishes. We paid $20 for a couple pieces of French toast and bacon, which I know I could have made better at home, frankly. Perhaps we should have gotten another dish, but I couldn't fathom paying $20 for a breakfast taco or "pancake balls". Additionally, the maple cold brew was super bitter. I don't see myself coming back again. On the bright side, there is parking in the back which is great, the atmosphere is cute and perfect for a little brunch, and the staff was nice.
Such a cute and kitschy little joint packed with flavor and full of Clintonville energy! The service is always super quick, and they have a delightful little patio on High st :) Parking isn't great, and it's a little pricey for small plates that feel like food truck fare, but I've never had anything there that wasn't delicious! If you're not getting the pancake balls, are you even at Katalina's?! Highly recommend
Quick service and it wasn't super busy! We got the famous pancake bits half Nutella and half Dulce de leche. I preferred the Dulce de leche over the Nutella. I got the Latino Sandwich with veggies sausage and my husband got the burrito. Overall everything was good nothing like overly amazing that I would have to have again

Went to Katalina's for brunch. At this time, the restaurant was empty. Before ordering was greeted and told to take my time and ask as many questions as needed. The dining room was clean and the staff came by to check to see if needed anything. Will definitely go back to get more of the famous pancake balls. The service overall was outstanding.
The restaurant was spotlessly clean! Order at the counter before you take a seat. I ordered the French toast with bacon. I had the regular bacon and it was meaty. My French toast was tasty. I was a little surprised that they did not have sugar free syrup available. I also was a little surprised by the food being served in cardboard baskets. For the price, I expected dishes and not disposable items. My husband enjoyed his Sammie! I would definitely come again.
The food was delicious and the pancake balls were great. I do wish the pancake balls had more filling though. The staff were friendly, but the wait for the food was so long. It took more than 30 minutes to get 3 food items when the restaurant wasn't packed and there was not a line to order food. The interior was nice, but was kind of cramped between seats.
We have been here a handful of times and it's always SOO good! Great patio for the summer. Get the pancake balls! The spicy bacon is great. Lots of vegan options as well. The breakfast tacos used to get a side of elote but now it's the purple sweet potato hash. Bring back the elote!!!! Hehe
Although they have location in Clintonville and Harrison West, I tried the location on North High Street. Finding the parking lot was a little tough since it's tucked away back via a side alley and there was a lot of construction going on, but the restaurant itself was nicely decorated and big! The okonomiyaki (potato pancake) was different from the traditional as it is a Latin leaning, breakfast version with cabbage inside and eggs and bacon bits on top. You can also make this vegetarian by taking out the bacon bites on top. The breakfast tacos were also a solid option, with avocados, cabbage, and eggs, with elote on the side. The pancake balls were definitely my favorite, since it was crunchy on the outside and doughy inside. You could choose from a variety of fillings including nutella, dulce de leche, and organic pumpkin apple butter. I chose the pumpkin apple butter and it was really good! You can also choose a flavor of bacon including sweet and spicy or original. They even have veggie sausages as a vegetarian option! The sweet and spicy bacon was very slightly spicy and was a thick slice that was hefty! As for drinks, they have orange juice, blood orange juice, and cold brews readily available in the coolers. They have seating indoors and outdoors--definitely try their patio during nice weather! Service is more self-serve after you get your food but they did clean the tables for us, which was nice!
Tried it 2 bites in not what i was thinking. Its okay not what I would order again. 2 out of 5 flavor was just tasted the black pepper.chicken was dry and soggy look like it was fried but then sand bag. My honest opinion just looks like a French toast with chicken fingers with cheese. Was excited to come try out since 3D did a show. But it not what i except. Service was good its mainly self order not restaurant style. We came from Vegas and wanted to try it out unfortunately it not what i expected and mostly a 1 and done kind of restaurant. The vibe is good very roomy and was able to seat 8 of us at the restaurant.
First timer at the High Street location. Early Tuesday arrival and we had the pick of tables on their 5* patio! Extensive menu. We had the avocado toast (huge portion) and the blue corn tortilla BLT. That was very unique! Walk up to order and they deliver the goods. Great service all around and the people we met were very smiley! Thank you for a great start to our day.

Found the restaurant easily enough and there was parking directly behind the restaurant that could be accessed from the alley. The menu had so many great choices! We settled on the eggs in the basket with over easy eggs and the breakfast tacos. Food came quickly, and was hot and fresh. We enjoyed both entrees accompanied by the peaches and scream salsa! As for the food, the elote corn was so tasty! The potatoes were very flavorful, and the breakfast tacos were a hit with both of us! This salsa is not locally produced as it's produced in Denver Colorado. The service was friendly and attentive as well as helpful with the menu. We love all the quotes on the walls and the interior décor.
INCREDIBLE. If you haven't had a stuffed pancake ball, you must if you want your life changed. They also have awesome cold brew here brewed with beans from a local roastery - ThunderKiss. Katalina was SO NICE, that I visited TWICE in my 2.5 day visit to the Columbus area. It's too bad that they force you to get an entree rather than selling stuffed pancake balls a la carte, but each time I ordered the: *Original Pancake Balls - pro tip: if you want to mix & match, you can only get half dulce de leche and half nutella (something about the temp in which they cook at) OR you can get them unstuffed & dip 'em yourself. For me, Apple Butter wasn't worth it so I got dulce de leche/nutella both times. With this breakfast entree, you get your choice of Sweet 'N' Spicy Bacon™ or Beeler's bacon. The first time, I ordered the sweet 'n' spicy & it was definitely that! The second time, just the "normal" Beeler's which was perfectly fine and good too. Just depends on what you're in the mood for! *Original! Breakfast Chick 'Wich (Katalina's Southern fried, buttermilk-brined, crushed Shagbark corn-chip coated Gerber chicken breast, topped with a sunnyside up egg, local Amish cheddar & a dash of Frank's Red Hot. Served open-faced, with Katalina's Purple Craze Hash) - this was so good and super filling!! I honestly probably would get this over the breakfast tacos - even though the breakfast tacos were good..this was next level tasty! *Award-Winning Breakfast Tacos (Three local Koki's white corn tortillas fillled with North Market Spices-infused housemade chorizo, scrambled eggs, housemade tomati lo salsa, avocado, queso fresco, cilantro, Snowvi le crema & fresh pico de galo. Served with Elote Mexican Street Corn.) - Love me a good breakfast taco! I was looking for more protein so I was able to add an additional egg to the scramble! The service was so lovely here even though it's fast casual style (where you order at the register, grab a number and your food is brought to your table!), they checked in with us & also took away our empty plates. My friend who has been to the other Katalina's location prefers this location because there's parking available at this one!
Popped in here because it was well rated on yelp and really close to where we were at the time. When you walk up it kinda looks like it would be a seafood place. Very colorful and beachy looking. I wish I had gotten the BLT and asked for an added egg. But I read too quickly and thought that's what the Latina sandwich was. I was wrong. No lettuce and the tomato was replaced with tomatillo sauce. It was ok. The sweet and spicy bacon was really good. I guess if I ever try again I will get the actual BLT. My husband got the chicken sandwich and it was really good. The potatoes are weird lol. They have thunderkiss coffee which my husband loves so that was nice. Not sure we would be back unless someone else brings it up. read more

Yelp asked, " do you recommend this restaurant?" And I said YES of course!! Since going to Katalina's with a friend a few months ago, I've come back with visitors and it's been a hit every time. The Latina sandwich was absolutely delicious with that perfect scratch the roof of your mouth sourdough; that's when you know it's the real deal. The next time I went I ordered the hens in a basket and it was oh so delicious and filling!! I wasn't too crazy about the purple potatoes but I was able to see past it. If you have a sweet tooth like me I would definitely recommend their pancake balls! They're famous for a reason!! They come either filled with Nutella or dulce de leche or you can go halfsies. The pancake balls are a little steep but SO worth it and are perfect for sharing with friends. read more

For how busy it was, and always is because this place is so good, we got our food pretty quick! We got the pancakes balls with Nutella and the chickwich sandwich and both were delicious! We always recommend this place to people visiting, it is so good! The restaurant is pretty busy on the weekends but the service is still great and there is a good amount of seating available! read more
First time at this location on N.High Street. Ample parking in the back of the building! Lots of interest choices there choose from! The pancake balls are a must have. Yes place your order, pay, grab a table and then an employee brings your order. There's a bunch of interesting collages on the walls worth of at. The chorizo tacos were amazing! The chicken with egg and a side of potatoes was delicious and flavorful! We all had a wonderful meal. read more

Overall the experience was good. Short points are: - could not find the parking lot for the life of me. Husband got mad and just parked at another business lol. - close dining quarters, which I liked. Everyone was sitting together and socializing :) kinda loud but fun - food is not really Mexican. More like hipster-student American Mexican but that doesn't mean it's not good! It was delicious still. - beware: avocado toast is SIX SLICES! Not a small portion. Hehe read more
Had an amazing brunch on a Sunday morning! Still say this is a great spot to take visiting guests. We sat on the patio (no longer dog friendly) and there was no line to order. Loved the Mexican French Toast! read more

One of my favorite breakfast spots. They have a nice range of breakfast items that can be altered to make them vegetarian and gluten free. This location in particular had a parking lot in the back that it made it super convenient. We came here with a group of 5 of us around 1030 on a Saturday and it was pretty packed. Thankfully the weather was decent enough for us to sit outside on their patio. Both locations have always been busy in my experience. The decor and atmosphere is very lively and fun. I love getting the breakfast tacos here and the pancake balls with their vegetarian sausage. They were able to do half and half nutella and dulce de leche for the pancake balls. They were honestly a lot bigger than I remembered but really satisfied my sweet tooth. Would recommend a visit if you're visiting Columbus! read more
I just moved to Ohio and found Katalina's through a cool local company called Experience Columbus. The story I saw featured pancake balls, which apparently Guy Fieri has tried. They surpassed my expectations! Nutella was available as a filling, but I went with Dulce de Leche. The food was inexpensive and six sweet pancake balls were almost too much. They were absolutely delicious! They come out piping hot and split nicely when you cut into them. They come with thick cut bacon and I tried the sweet and spicy bacon. Again, the bacon surpassed my expectations! So incredible! I sat outside since the weather was cool and it was a beautiful morning. The tables are completely and lovingly tagged with graffiti - names, dates, jokes, etc. You might be able to see some in my photograph. It was endearing. I spoke with Mike quite a bit. He was friendly and we talked about the city, our individual posts, and the future. read more
Delicious BLT!! Others in my party loved their food... college roommate from SF was in town and had to go back to visit Katalina's - they said they missed it so much!! Service was excellent and outdoor seating is the way to go. The inside is cute with its colorful atmosphere if seating outside its available. I love that they conveniently have water pitchers outside to refill drinks. The tortilla chips with the BLT were amazing as well, looking to purchase them at the grocery if they are available! Never had anything bad from here, or their OG location. Was in town for the weekend, had to stop by for breakfast. The Mazatlan Pulled pork sando is better than I remembered it. Got an order of the pancake balls with Dulce de leche, and the omgaaawd Sweet n spicy bacon. Dont call it a fusion resto, its a Mex inspired place done right. Hands down the BEST breakfast, brunch, lunch spot for a vegetarian and/or vegan. So many options for us to chose from I ordered the blue corn tacos with vegan chorizo and kept the dairy. The best tacos I have had in Columbus! Flavorful and well constructed. Also ordered the famous pancake balls with Nutella -- limited Nutella filling was craving more. My partner had the French toast chicken sandwich, they said the French toast good. A little disappointed in the amount of Nutella filling as well, especially since they have frequented Katalina's multipolar times. Would highly recommend overall!! Great atmosphere, method of ordering/delivery of food, service and dedication to making your meal just right. So happy I found this place!! read more

I was excited to give Katalina's a try this morning for breakfast. It's a super cute place and they're known for their pancake balls (although I didn't get them). The whole menu sounded so good! I ended up getting the BLT tacos with elote and sadly was pretty let down... The spicy/sweet bacon on the tacos were delish but they had hardly any tomato on them and the lettuce looked like spring mix or something? This wasn't even the biggest issue. The shells were SO DRY and hard/crusty. I couldn't tell if they cooked or warmed up! They should cook the tortillas with a tiny amount of oil to soften them. I ended up eating 2 bites of a taco before I dumped the rest of the filling out into a to go box to take home & put in an edible tortilla. Also the coffee was very watery/weak. The elote was surprisingly pretty good. I tried the french toast my wife got and enjoyed that as well. I should have taken my food in to exchange it for something else but I don't like to complain at restaurants unless it's completely inedible. I also enjoyed sitting outside on the patio because it was such a nice sunny morning and the staff was nice. I love places like there where you can pay first and grab drinks yourself so when you're done you can leave instead of waiting for a server to bring a check. I will definitely give them another try but I will NOT be getting the tacos. read more
When all you can think about are pancake balls prior to your trip to Katalina's, you can bet katalina's was our first stop for breakfast the second we woke up after our flights landed. The food is always on par. We had the seasonal pancake balls that were the perfect balance of sweet but not too sweet. Service is quick and easy. I joked with the man who took my order because I was so exhausted that I could not answer any of his questions. I love the seating inside and how you can draw on anything you wish. read more

I don't understand why it has so many stars. Because the menu/concept is unique, but it is just Mexican fusion with interesting menu name. You know your food was serve lukewarm right ? Pancake ball was nothing special, probably one of the worst pancakes I ever had. Inside the pancake was mushy like it wasn't cook all the way through or too much flour in the batter maybe. I rather had regular pancake from a diner. Maybe lunch menu is better but Breakfast was such a let down. read more

Maybe you really have to get the pancake balls? Simply put, I just didn't think the food was very good. I had the migas, which the menu described as having corn chips, green onions, homemade sauce and queso fresco. It sounded amazing. The reality was a sad paper boat filled with scrambled eggs. There was literally almost nothing from the description to be found on or in the eggs, except for a few stray pepitas and three pieces of green onion. Mine had no sauce at all in or on it. The horchata beverage was thin and watery. Really enjoyed the sunny patio, but would not rush back based on the food. read more

Been wanting to check this place out forever. Today was the day. Ordered the Pancake Balls for sure. Then had a Pueblo BLT. The BLT had nice thick slices of bacon with greens, luscious tomatoes , Amish Cheddar cheese with a citrus aioli on toasted wheat bread. It made for a great tasting sandwich. On to the main attraction, the balls. They were cooked perfectly and each of the fillings provided a phenomenal bite and dipping them in the maple syrup just put it over the top. Final accolade goes to the Stefanie who was the cashier, she rocked it as far as helping me order. For sure will return. read more
After doing my usual research to find the best places for breakfast... Katalinas came at the top of the list multiple times. So I thought I'd give it a try. It had cute outdoor seating out front, making it Covid friendly of course. When we entered there was a big line wrapped around the order kiosk. That's usually a sign that I know a restaurant is popular. Once we arrived to the kiosk, which was in about 10 minutes, the girl at the front was really accommodating in substituting food options. We got the breakfast burritos with vegan chorizo and Nutella pancake balls with vegan sausage. Service was great and super kind. Our waiter made sure that he was appropriately substituting what was needed and I greatly appreciated that. The breakfast tacos was the most popular option. They were healthy, but not as flavorful as I would've thought. Overall they weren't bad, just not AMAZING from all the hype I read about it. Nutella pancake balls were pretty good, but it would be better if it was packed with Nutella in the middle rather than just rubbed on the sides inside. Overall, it was a good experience. Just not as great as I would've thought. read more
Good, but not great. Food was okay. Pancake balls were unique, but at the end of the day, it's a Pancake! Had the chicken sandwich too. Plenty big enough. Breaded but baked, not fried. Kinda like the frozen stuff I get at Costco. They paired it with some yummy cole slaw drizzled with honey and sweet corn on Cibata bread. Served along side a bag of tortilla chips that looked ot just dropped from a vending machine. Service was fast, but the sandwich was luke warm at best. All I can say is... get the Nutella pancake balls. And the tacos were to die for! Know that you are paying a little more for quality ingredients, and the restaurant is cafe style, where you order at a counter. Also know that there are NO alcoholic drinks here though, if you were wanting that. I think my attached photos will have to speak for themselves on the gorgeous and delicious, mouthwatering food. Can't wait to try other items next time! read more

Ordering my food online and then picking it up to take back home is my go-to. The food quality does not change doing a to-go order versus eating at the restaurant which is something that I can't say for a lot of other places. And the pick up window by the counter makes it quick and easy to get in and out. I ordered my usual, which is the half nutella and half dulce de leche pancake balls, as well as the huge mazatlan sunrise sammie. I was a little bummed by this recent order of pancake balls as the filling was lacking as compared to past orders, and the quantity seemed to be off by a couple where I feel like I received less than normal. However, the sammie hit the spot. The roasted red peppers are what make the sandwich. The bread is so nice and toasty and it holds everything together well. Overall I always end up with a satisfying meal, but it's a little pricey so I don't eat here as often as I'd like. read more
