This place is bigger than it seems. Very friendly staff. The food is good. If you like it spicy they will crank it up. I ordered my last dish mild and it's closer to what most other places would call moderate. The accoustics are not great inside. There was a loud table in the room and they drowned out everyone else, I could barely hear the other person at my own table. One other thing, if you pay by CC they add on a fee to the bill. Servers were attentive. Located directly off the main road. Accessibility Front door is wheelchair accessible, but the majority of the seats are located up one large step. The best Indian food in the area as far as I'm concerned. I've never left this place disappointed. I especially love going on Sundays for their buffet. The ambiance isn't a fancy one, but I always find it quiet and comfortable, and the staff are courteous and professional. My personal favorite is the Chicken Tikka Marsala. Visited Sunday, first time with 5 other family members. Walking in we were greeted and seated quickly and within 5 minutes had been shown to the buffet where a huge variety of Indian food was offered. I chose not to have the buffet and ordered a delightful dish listed as an appetizer called Samosa Chaat. The spices, sauce, ingredients were sweet, sour, savory, a real mouth party and one I will certainly order the next time too. We were all very satisfied at the quality, taste, temperature of the food, not one negative comment from anyone, only very happy customers. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and was impressed by the amount of staff and their hospitality and quick responses to requests. I stopped at Kashmir for the Sunday brunch buffet, which is priced at $8.95 plus tax (in 1/2014). I arrived here around 1:30PM and I was seated in the back dining room, which was quite busy. On my visit, the buffet was stocked with around 15 items including tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, chili chicken, palak paneer, baingan bartha, kabuli channa, naan, fried dough pockets, vegetable pakoras, raita, salad (lettuce, tomato slices, cucumber, carrots), basmati rice, mulligatawny soup, chutneys, and badami kheer. The food on the buffet was fresh and very good with several dishes tasting spicy. The chili chicken and the chicken tikka masala were my favorite main dishes. The pakoras were chewy and standard fare similar at other Indian buffets. The dessert (kheer) was sweet and refreshing (they ran out of this item). The service was attentive with the server refilling my metal cup of ice water several times and clearing my used dishes. This buffet was a very good value for only $9.75 with tax and before tip. I will note that the weekend Indian buffets in Nashua are priced significantly higher than Kashmir. read more

Absolutely delicious. I had bookmarked this place a few weeks a go and figured I check it out while shopping in NH one afternoon. I ordered the vegetarian sampler, coconut goa shrimp and cheese naan. All were amazing. They have a wide variety of vegetarian choices which I love. The service was prompt and friendly. I thought the building was cute and intimate. I've been to Kashmir several times for lunch - their buffet on Fridays and Saturdays, and off the lunch menu on weekdays. Both are good. The lunch menu is quite extensive, but I'm more familiar with the buffet. The buffet typically has soup, a very rudimentary salad bar (basically a tub of lettuce, carrots and maybe other items), 2 types of naan, pakoras, about 6 entrees, and dessert. About 3/4 of the items are regular, things like palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, and palak paneer. The other dishes, which vary from visit to visit, are usually a chickpea dish and a vegetable dish; the degree of spiciness in these will vary. The pakoras are worth noting. At many buffets, they are batter-fried vegetables. Here they are a mix of "dough" and vegetable chunks. They are a bit larger that average for pakoras, and the way they are prepared they come out with a crust which is tender and juicy, as opposed to the more commonly crispy or crunchy. The buffet is very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. If you visit Kashmir on a Friday for the lunch buffet, it is often very crowded between 12 and 1; if your schedule is flexible, try going just before or after. read more

I am vegan and it's so easy to find dishes that accommodate my diet from this restaurant. They make such delicious food, there really is no other word. It's just so flavorful and well balanced. ZIPPER IN OUR MEAL. So this is a favorite of many of the people in the area. We had dinner there and there was a zipper in our meal. My friend is lucky she didn't break a tooth. I will have to give two stars even though i want to give 1 star for the food. We yelped this place and expected this place to have great food. Sadly they dint have. We ordered two thalis one veg and one non veg. When you put thali as one of the options on the menu the expectation is that you will get 4-5 sabzi with pickel and one desert at least. Well we got three options for sabzi and no pickel no desert on the side. To my disappointment the rice was stale and with the raita tasting funky. In short the food was not fresh and we dint feel like eating at all. My husband tried and ate his share and ended up with upset stomach immediately. I have been to Kashmir on several occasions and both the food and service are top notch. I moved to Salem about 3 years ago and am so happy that an Indian restaurant of this caliber is so close to home. I would highly recommend the chicken vindaloo, chicken mango and one of the best desserts I have ever had, Gulab Jamun. The spices are always used perfectly and the flavors are wonderful. Oh, I do like this place. From the ambiance, to the service, to the food- dining at Kashmir was a wonderful experience. Indian food is rather heavily spiced and rather greasy, so keep that in mind if you've never had Indian food before. We ordered the Kashmir Mixed Appetizer (vegetable pakora, vegetable samosa, aloo tikka, cheese pakora, chicken pakora and meat samosa), Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese), Lamb Tikki Masala, Garlic Naan, and Roti. My only critique is that the lamb was a bit too hard and tough, but other than that, I thought that everything was delicious! The palak paneer and tikki masala pair so well with the basmati rice. The rice itself was fragrant and there were even a couple cloves in there to give it a unique flavor. The service was also great- probably the best service I've had at a restaurant in quite some time. The staff was attentive and frequently came by the table to refill our waters and to make sure that everything was ok.
