Wonderful restaurant that raises the standard in this part of New England for Indian cuisine. It was a bit out of my usual neighborhood and so it took a while to uncover. But finally I did and boy am I happy. Very much a family affair - husband and wife who share maitre'd and server responsibilities. And other relatives in the kitchen cooking up a storm. What first grabbed my attention were the huge number of dosas they offer. Seeing any dosa on a menu at all is a rarity and so to see the wide variety they feature was amazing. I opted for the Andhra Kara Masala and it was excellent. The dosa itself crispy and warm and the condiments beautifully integrated. We opted for the mixed veggie pakoras as an appetizer on the recommendation of the owner and they were served warm and crispy. The batter was light - nothing like the thick sludge that usually adorns the deep fried nuggets of vegetable delight. The accompanying tamarind sauce was sweet and clean and the mint-cilantro suitably refreshing. Lovey got garlic naan and saag paneer. Smooth and creamy, the saag was exactly as hoped for and the garlic naan was chewy, warm and toothsome. Dessert was carrot halwa. Hard to believe carrots make such an excellent warm dessert but they do. Richly satisfying with just the right touch of sweetness. We look forward to returning and sampling the rest of the menu!

Oh my goodness - this place was INCREDIBLE!!! Best Indian food we have ever had! Super high quality ingredients . Everything was perfectly delicious. We are both in awe. . The Husband and wife owners are super nice , we were talking to them for a while. I am so mad that we haven't been here sooner!!

I can't believe I waited this long to try Grand India! Not only is the menu huge and food excellent, but the combo of different regional cuisine options is impressive. There are whole sections for idli, dosa and Indo-Chinese style dishes. We went for the Paneer Dosa and Indo-Chinese Sichuan style noodles and both were fabulous "would-get-again" dishes. Note: Spice levels were described to us a "mild", "medium", "hot" and "Indian hot". Chai was tasty and I loved that it wasn't very sweet but left to me if I chose to sweeten it. The restaurant has a good amount of convenient shared parking. It's a cute place, smaller than I expected from the size of the menu, but comfortable and simply and tastefully decorated. We were greeted as we arrived and service was excellent and helpful.

Delicious Indian Food My daughter and I dined there on Sept 20, 2025 and were happy with our food choices, which included lamb korma, naan and spinach masala dosa. My daughter said the naan was the best she has ever had. I was pleased to have the option of dosas, which are more typical of southern India and not as common on the menu of other Indian restaurants we have been to. I enjoyed my dosa very much. We both had mango lassi which is one of our favorites. We also had Gulab jamun, an Indian sweet, which gave a nice finish to our meal. We will definitely return to Grand India. We hear they have a buffet on weekends which we would like to try.

Love this place! This piece of Indian Heaven in the northeast! The service was consistent friendly and helpful. The ambiance was peaceful with Indian music videos playing in the background. Family friendly as well. The butter chicken is well worth it. Tasty and authentic. The garlic nan was fresh and tasty. Our group of six was very full

Picture of my take out-Shahi Panner Korma (prettt sure) the broccoli is my own lol but this dish was soooooo good!

The Grand India is hands down THE best Indian restaurant I have EVER been to. I've lived all over Boston, New England, and NYC, they blow every other Indian restaurant out of the water by a million miles! This place is so incredibly authentic, and truly delicious. I've been over 15 times and I've never, ever been disappointed. I really believe they deserve 3 Michelin Stars and I'm being so serious. They offer tons of celiac safe options, humanely sourced/Halal meats, and lots of vegetarian and vegan options too! My favorite things are the chili idlis (spicy rice cakes) Onion Baji (like fried onion rings but make it Indian) the Rasam soup, this battered/fried jalapeño dish I forget the name of rn, the Dosas, the Lamb Kadai, and the classics are all perfect, like the Paneer Tikka Massala, Shahi Panner Korma, Bindhi Vindaloo and more. Everything is good here! Do you hear me? This place is insanely good! They deserve their stars, I'm yelling this so loud right now! The owners are wonderful people who make you feel like family when you're there! They also offer take out, and drinks! It's my favorite Indian restaurant ever, and I have been to A LOT of them. This is THE one!!!

Incredible food as always from the establishment! The ambience is great and this is a family place that really value service and it's customers. The food is extremely authentic and the owner here really cares about the quality of it all. Whenever I'm here, I always get a dosa and fry a few of their appetizers.

    Mixed vegetables Pakor

Vegetable Pakor appetizer was ok. Salmon Tandoori was cooked nicely and tasty but we found the total dish on the dry side, a Tandoori sauce would've made a big difference. Garlic naan and basil naan were excellent. Had to ask for rice for Tandoori. No salad was a bit of a bummer and no ice for the water . Service was excellent and friendly. It was early so no other patrons there, it was clean and quiet.

MUGALAI CHICKEN CURRY, GRAND INDIA SPECIAL MANGO LAMB CURRY, GARLIC NAAN

HIDDEN GEM!‍ Such a great experience here. Food was fantastic - came out very quickly, generous portions, and was absolutely delicious! The hospitality was also fantastic. Our waiter helped my husband and I pick something new that we both hadn't had before and was super helpful. We ended up getting the Mugalai Chicken Curry and the Grand India Special Mango Lamb Curry (along with obligatory garlic naan). We will certainly be coming back! Best Indian spot in the area for sure.

The Best North Indian Restaurant I Have Found…read more For a long time, I had been searching for an authentic North Indian restaurant that truly delivers outstanding food. One day, while I was in Salem, New Hampshire, I discovered Kashmir Indian Cuisine, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I visited the restaurant with a group of friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tandoori specialties. The Chicken Tikka, Chicken Seekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Tandoori Roti were all cooked to perfection. We also tried the Haddock Pakora as an appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Other favorites included the Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Aloo Gobi. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with authentic North Indian spices. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the warm hospitality. The owner and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making every guest feel welcome. I was so impressed that I later hired Kashmir Indian Cuisine to cater my daughter's engagement celebration. The food was exceptional, and every guest complimented the quality, taste, and beautiful presentation. Their catering helped make our special occasion even more memorable. If you truly enjoy authentic North Indian cuisine, I highly recommend giving Kashmir Indian Cuisine a try. Make the drive just once, and I'm confident you'll enjoy the experience as much as I did. Highly recommended! Gursharan S. Gill Mr. Gill Newport Restaurant Group

I almost always sit at the bar and order the Mixed Tandoori Grill because it has consistently been generous, well-prepared, and worth the price. Unfortunately, my experience tonight was incredibly disappointing. The service at the bar was poor. Although there were other guests there--many of whom appeared to be regulars--the bartender spent most of his time chatting with them and largely ignored me. I had to ask three separate times before I finally received service. When my meal arrived, it was nowhere near the quality or portion I have come to expect. The Mixed Grill, which has always included generous portions of lamb, chicken, and shrimp, consisted almost entirely of chicken, with only about two small pieces of lamb and a single shrimp. It was a dramatic difference from what has been served for years. I politely mentioned this to the bartender, and his response was simply, "Tough times, less food." I found that response both dismissive and disappointing. If portions have been reduced, customers should not be paying the same premium prices without any acknowledgment. After years of consistently great meals, this was genuinely sad to experience. Spending nearly $75 on a meal that felt significantly diminished in both quality and value is hard to justify. Because of my long history with this restaurant, I may give it one more chance, but based on this visit, I cannot recommend it. It was a very disappointing experience from both a service and food standpoint.

Overall, it's fine for a quick lunch if you're nearby, but not a place I'd go out of my way to visit. We dined fairly early on a Friday evening and the restaurant quickly filled up. Since they are not located on the beach, there is plenty of parking. This location was formerly a pizza hut, but they did a nice job converting to a pleasant dining room. Service was very friendly, pleasant and efficient, and we enjoyed all the food we ordered. As others mention, portions are large (we took food home), and we found the prices to be fair, given the ever increasing cost of food lately. We started with an order of Pakora and onion bhaji. When the dish arrived I thought we were given the wrong order as the plate had what looked like patties, and not the usual shape of these items that we have had at other Indian restaurants. Appearance aside, we found them to taste as we expected. Perhaps a regional difference? We stuck to some of the more common dishes we have ordered so that we could compare to other restaurants. Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer were both delicious. The menu has everything that you might expect as well as some dishes I've not had. Extensive Biryani and Tandoori offerings as well. We are looking forward to trying some new dishes when we visit again. Give them a try, something new and different for Hampton!
