Upon arrival to Manchester, NH from Boston Logan with the help of a friend, I scouted the area and found this Indian restaurant near my hotel. Score! Thanks Yelp for helping me locate dinner here in Manchester, NH. I arrived here around 5:30pm after checking into my hotel and walking over. The restaurant was located in a small cluster of businesses. Not sure you'd call it a strip mall, but it was just that. It was a Friday afternoon and it was nice to kick off the weekend with Indian food. Royal India Indian restaurant is a small restaurant but has good ambiance. Felt good to be there, even though it was just me dining. There was only 1 active table other than mine at the time of service, so it was more or less a quiet afternoon for early dinner. With that said, I basically ordered a nice sizable meal that was awesome. First was the appetizer which was the vegetable samosas. Then, a side of garlic naan. For the entree, one order of the Rogan Josh, with lamb. It was definitely delicious and a mini feast to be had. Drink was ice water and was quickly eaten as it was served. The Rogan Josh was served with jasmine rice, which was great. Definitely a different taste than other rice I've been used to. For the most part though, dining here at Royal India Indian restaurant was the choice of the day. No regrets. The overall experience here at Royal India Indian restaurant was nice, casual, friendly, and good. The service here was good and friendly, although typical but fresh and made me feel welcome, especially when I was a tourist here. It was clean and definitely in a pristine condition. Everything was made to order, so it came out hot and delicious. Everything was enjoyable and nothing was saved for later. I even ordered samosas for takeout after the meal for enjoyment in my hotel room later that evening. The prices here are generally what you would expect at any Indian restaurant, where appetizers can range up to $10 and entrees are typically start at $15 to $17 a piece. No matter what you are craving on any given day, consider the Royal India Indian restaurant here in Manchester NH, if you are in the area. Definitely a treat that's most likely will give you a smile upon your day or evening. The Royal India Indian restaurant is located at 575 S Willow Avenue here in beautiful Manchester, NH. It's a 10 minute drive from the Manchester-Boston regional airport. They accept major credit cards here, which is good for me, as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's a handful of parking spots right in front of the restaurant itself. Not sure if there are additional spots nearby or if the restaurant is connected to a larger shopping complex in the immediate area. For those of you who use public transportation, I think Manchester has one. Best bet would be the one that stops next to S Willow Ave and the restaurant. While I didn't use either methods that day and walked to the restaurant on foot from the Even Hotel - Manchester airport, it was a nice meal here at the Royal India Indian restaurant. If you love Indian food and are in the area, consider coming here for a meal. You'll love it. I guarantee it. I know I did. It brightened my day while I was there and kickstarted the weekend in mid May 2022. Extremely upset and disappointed in my experience here. For starters, I didn't even get the correct order and I waited an HOUR for it to be ready, plus extra time sitting at the bar waiting for it to be delivered to me. I got home and unpackaged it and they literally screwed up everything. I didn't order the vegetable pakora but it was in my bag, I didn't get the garlic naan bread and vegetable samosas I PAID for. The gobhi Manchurian looked horrific and felt like it had sat out for hours. The tikka masala I ordered was good don't get me wrong but at that point I'd rather just make it at home where I'll be guaranteed ALL THE FOOD I PURCHASE!!!!! You'd think if someone's paying $44 for food you'd ensure their order is correct am I right?! The other thing that gets me is it wasn't even busy!! And I wasn't the only one who was displeased with the service. A woman that was in the restaurant long before me asked the bartender (the only staff in the whole place) when her order would be ready because her flight would be leaving in an hour and she'd been waiting as long as I had, an hour. Aside from 2 other groups sitting at tables eating it was dead in there. The other thing that pissed me off was the fact that these two guys got their takeout order almost immediately when they walked in while I was left sitting there feeling like an idiot for almost 20 minutes! Not to mention the drinks left on the bar and open napkins that were there when I arrived and the bar was completely empty. This entire experience was frustrating. Royal India is definitely an amazing restaurant to try out Indian food if you're in Manchester, NH. If you're looking for some spicy, flavorful Indian food, this is the place to be. My friend had suggested me this place so I tried it out with lot of expectations and I'm glad to say this, royal India didn't disappoint. The food was on point, the service - excellent, and there's all the required COVID precautions in place. I had a party of 9 and they had made arrangements accordingly. Everything that we ordered was delicious. For starters, as soon as you get comfy in your seat, you're being served with this delicious crisp fried papad with onion chutney. The papad was crisp and the chutney on point. For the appetizers, we got chicken lollipops and lamb boti kebab. Both were delicious and yum and we devoured it within seconds. For the main course, we had chicken biryani and lamb biryani and let me tell you something, the portions are huge. If you have a great appetite you'd be able to finish this (not alone by any chance) but there will be plenty of leftovers for you to take home and enjoy the next day as well. I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant and the food offerings and everyone in my party felt the same. We've been coming to Royal India since 2016 and it is one of our favorite restaurants overall, and a 'tied for #1 top 2 favorite' for Indian The food is EXCELLENT, fresh made to order. The portions are enough for 2 meals, and the owner is a GREAT guy who cares about his business and treats his customers VERY well. I've had more than one occassion where my wife and i or just i was there during buffet, ordered from the menu and knowing my kids love the chicken tikka marsala hes given me a small side to take home to them. I'm not well-versed in Indian cuisine but ya girl knows what tastes good and what does not and this place definitely hits the spot. Spicy food without sacrificing any of the flavor? I'm all about that. We started off with the samosas and pakoras which I definitely recommend although I honestly recommend everything my group ordered... The garlic naan is ON POINT. Portion sizes are ridiculous here. If you get the biryani just expect a really huge bowl of bomba** rice to be brought out to you. The biryani is excellent and one of my favorite dishes here. So flavorful and full of awesome spices. The less saucy version of the chicken vindaloo was a huge hit amongst the group. It had a nice, tangy flavor while also providing a very subtle kick. Chicken was cooked well and super tender. The second time I came back, I tried the original hot and saucier version of the chicken vindaloo and it was THE BEST. I love spicy food and Royal India is the only restaurant in all of NH that has even made my tongue tingle! The butter chicken, an off-menu item, was also so delicious. Indian food is definitely more fun to eat when you go with a huge group and do it family-style. Everyone at Royal India was so great. Our server was very knowledgable about the menu and even made some excellent recommendations. The chef came out to check on us as well and ask if the food was alright. Very good Indian food, a rare find in New Hampshire. Their prices are very reasonable and the menu is broad enough for everyone to find something. We had some naan, eggplant, saag paneer, and a few chicken dishes. We got one korma medium and one mild and you could actually tell the difference (though both were delicious). Everything comes with rice, and the meat is a good quality. Hot tip: order over the phone (as their website suggests) because using Seamless etc means you pay a higher price per item. read more

Always order from here when I'm craving paneer masala. Once I ordered it from somewhere else because they were closed for I think vacation and immediately regretted it. Sometimes the sauce is a little saltier than other times, but nothing terrible. My husband loves their chicken meals (I think tikka?and curry) and he loves their garlic naan. I love their plain paneer (and for some reason my dog goes nutso when she smells it- I have to share it with her.) Wow, looking for something that could match Indian Palace in Amherst, I was skeptical of the reviews given how mediocre most places are in Manchester but this place knocks it out of the park. The types of nan bread alone are enough to impress even the most critical food critic. And the portions will leave you with leftovers for days. We enjoyed all the basics Tiki Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Masala Dosa they were all fucking amazing. The one thing that i wasn't ready for was how hot everything was, i was almost instantly sweating when we asked for medium. Royal India opened this week on South Willow Street at the Willow Tree Plaza in the former El Jimador space (also formerly Tuscano's and New Taiwan Garden). The former India Palace used to be in this same plaza next door (now H&R Block), which is NOW CLOSED. One of the former associates of India Palace now owns Royal India. India Palace in Nashua is still open for business. The restaurant is very cozy which has two dining rooms with tables and booths and a bar. Upon stepping inside Royal India, the strong aroma of curry is very pronounced, no mistaking you are now inside of an Indian restaurant. After performing field work in the area, my coworker and I stopped in at Royal India for lunch. I decided to get the Lunch Buffet ($9.95 plus tax), which had around 15 items to choose from including tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken mushroom, aloo mattar, goat curry, chana masala, saag paneer, daal makhani, pakoras (onion & potato), basmati rice, naan, coconut sauce, chutneys, raita, mango pudding, and kheer. This lunch buffet did not have any green salad or cold vegetables, like what you'd find at other Indian buffets. The food on the buffet was decent and tasted fresh (not too spicy) and was being replenished often. I made a few trips to the buffet to try out each item. I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and pakoras (greasy) and the homemade kheer (rice pudding) was a sweet and refreshing dessert. My coworker did not order the buffet and instead ordered a Mango Lassi ($3.50 plus tax), which was a smooth and very sweet beverage and Aloo Tikki Chaat ($5.95 plus tax), which consisted of potato patties garnished with chick peas and topped with yogurt, mint, & tamarind chutney. My coworker enjoyed his lighter lunch and was full. On our initial visit, the place was so new, that there were no official printed menus available yet. We were given nine printed pages of menu items to look over. The service here was adequate with used buffet dishes cleared promptly. My coworker received his mango lassi promptly, but his aloo tikki chaat took awhile to be served. The credit card machine did not work, so it was cash only on this visit. Please think twice before ordering from Royal India. My wife and I ordered a fairly simple meal from them through GrubHub tonight - one entree with rice, one order of naan, one order of onion Kulcha and an order of pakora - but the order came without our naan. Should be a fairly simple fix, but no. I politely called the restaurant to let them know that they'd left out our naan, only to be cut off and told rudely and shortly that I must be mistaken because I was speaking to the person who packed the order. Never mind that the bag had been emptied on my counter and there were only four items where there should be five. She refused to consider the possibility that she had made a mistake, told me to call GrubHub, and hung up. Honestly, we only ordered from here because neither of us wanted to get in the car to pick up much better quality food from Taj in Manchester. But after this level of service, we'll just be sticking with Taj in the future and you should too. read more

My family loves Indian food. We are picky, very picky when it comes to Indian food. I just tried Royal India tonight for the first time and WOW, I'm blown away. They are now among the best if not the best Indian food I've had. Well done, Royal India, well done. The Naan was perfect, vegetable samosas were moist and delicious, the chicken korma was out of this world. The staff was extremely friendly, and the resturant was squeaky clean. I may not be able to get my own native cuisine here in Manchester, but the Indian restaurants have been fantastic. Especially here at Royal Indian - everything I tasted is the best I've had in the past few years. The papadum was light, crispy, and lightly seasoned. The onion chutney was reminiscent of a delicious salsa from my own native cuisine. The vegetable samosa was delightfully filling (I saved two to take home) and delicious. And my chicken briyani was absolute perfection. Even the Raita, which I have disliked every time I have tried it in the past, was delicious. I don't know their secret, but I hope it is family recipes! Also, I wish I could eat here daily. I travel a lot for work and have been to a dozen or two Indian restaurants. This one is my favorite by far. I'd recommend the chicken korma. Best I ever had. The garlic naan is perfect. And the most pleasant surprise was the onion chutney and papadum. Think of it as an Indian chips and salsa. If they don't bring it to your table ask for it. I had a "Come to Jesus" moment when I first tasted it. Well maybe it was more of a "Come to Ganesha" moment.
