Bar area when I arrived, not cleaned
    Kaeli K.

Extremely upset and disappointed in my experience here. For starters, I didn't even get the correct order and I waited an HOUR for it to be ready, plus extra time sitting at the bar waiting for it to be delivered to me. I got home and unpackaged it and they literally screwed up everything. I didn't order the vegetable pakora but it was in my bag, I didn't get the garlic naan bread and vegetable samosas I PAID for. The gobhi Manchurian looked horrific and felt like it had sat out for hours. The tikka masala I ordered was good don't get me wrong but at that point I'd rather just make it at home where I'll be guaranteed ALL THE FOOD I PURCHASE!!!!! You'd think if someone's paying $44 for food you'd ensure their order is correct am I right?! The other thing that gets me is it wasn't even busy!! And I wasn't the only one who was displeased with the service. A woman that was in the restaurant long before me asked the bartender (the only staff in the whole place) when her order would be ready because her flight would be leaving in an hour and she'd been waiting as long as I had, an hour. Aside from 2 other groups sitting at tables eating it was dead in there. The other thing that pissed me off was the fact that these two guys got their takeout order almost immediately when they walked in while I was left sitting there feeling like an idiot for almost 20 minutes! Not to mention the drinks left on the bar and open napkins that were there when I arrived and the bar was completely empty. This entire experience was frustrating. I should've known when I called and I didn't get the warm fuzzies! Save yourself and go somewhere else trust me.

Royal India is definitely an amazing restaurant to try out Indian food if you're in Manchester, NH. If you're looking for some spicy, flavorful Indian food, this is the place to be. My friend had suggested me this place so I tried it out with lot of expectations and I'm glad to say this, royal India didn't disappoint. The food was on point, the service - excellent, and there's all the required COVID precautions in place. I had a party of 9 and they had made arrangements accordingly. Everything that we ordered was delicious. For starters, as soon as you get comfy in your seat, you're being served with this delicious crisp fried papad with onion chutney. The papad was crisp and the chutney on point. For the appetizers, we got chicken lollipops and lamb boti kebab. Both were delicious and yum and we devoured it within seconds. For the main course, we had chicken biryani and lamb biryani and let me tell you something, the portions are huge. If you have a great appetite you'd be able to finish this (not alone by any chance) but there will be plenty of leftovers for you to take home and enjoy the next day as well. I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant and the food offerings and everyone in my party felt the same. The staff was polite and knowledgeable, the food was great and overall, I'd suggest this place to anyone without a doubt.

Wow, who knew that Manchester, NH could be home to such an authentic Indian restaurant? Royal India is definitely a hidden gem. I'm not well-versed in Indian cuisine but ya girl knows what tastes good and what does not and this place definitely hits the spot. Spicy food without sacrificing any of the flavor? I'm all about that. We started off with the samosas and pakoras which I definitely recommend although I honestly recommend everything my group ordered... The garlic naan is ON POINT. Portion sizes are ridiculous here. If you get the biryani just expect a really huge bowl of bomba** rice to be brought out to you. The biryani is excellent and one of my favorite dishes here. So flavorful and full of awesome spices. The less saucy version of the chicken vindaloo was a huge hit amongst the group. It had a nice, tangy flavor while also providing a very subtle kick. Chicken was cooked well and super tender. The second time I came back, I tried the original hot and saucier version of the chicken vindaloo and it was THE BEST. I love spicy food and Royal India is the only restaurant in all of NH that has even made my tongue tingle! The butter chicken, an off-menu item, was also so delicious. Indian food is definitely more fun to eat when you go with a huge group and do it family-style. Everyone at Royal India was so great. Our server was very knowledgable about the menu and even made some excellent recommendations. The chef came out to check on us as well and ask if the food was alright. Such a great family-owned establishment that I will be dining at more often!

    Vegetable Samosa! They are excellent!

They have very good food and service here. I'm glad that my wife and I have found this place. They have vegan choices as well as meat. Each dish is prepared to order; don't be in a hurry. They are not slow. Fair warning. We will be back.

My second time going there-the dish was wonderfully spicy-almost too spicy but who cares when it's as delicious as it was.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The naan was also crispy and wonderfully baked from the oven. For dessert we tried the ras malai- 10/10 and the gajar halwa, which was without khoya, but still pretty good- 7/10 Mango lassi -8/10 The service was splendid ! They even have a prayer area, so that was great too! They also have a shop in the annex where you can get all your local Pakistani spices and groceries (plus decorations). Saturday night, ~8ish, date night with the spouse. Walked in…read moreand the place had exactly three tables occupied -- which in restaurant math = peace, quiet, and zero chaos. My kind of nightlife. Full transparency: We declined the bread. Yes... IK. A cardinal sin. A culinary betrayal. But after a certain age, carbs stop being your friend and start acting like that shady acquaintance who convinces you to make bad life choices. So we stayed strong. Mostly. AMBIANCE: Simple, cozy, chandeliers doing their little sparkle thing. Nothing over-the-top. A calming video montage with meditation music playing that had me halfway to enlightenment before our entree's arrived. Kept us entertained of guessing what part of the world the videos were from - Dubai I knew for sure SERVICE: Pleasant. Attentive without hovering like a helicopter parent. Waters pro-actively refilled often, and our waitress offered more rice like she knew my carb boundaries are weak. Respect. FOOD: Entree's: Lamb kabobs (medium) Shrimp tandoori Marsala (regular) Listen... I could've just ordered a vat of that masala sauce and a spoon and called it dinner. Creamy, perfect texture, medium spice level that said "hello" w/out choosing violence. The kabobs didn't look appetizing to me, and appeared tough to chew and cut, but no verbal complaints from my better half (shrug). My only disappointment: I was so busy living in the moment (and inhaling my food) that I forgot to take photos of the entrées. Not en "elite" move, IK! Also... it's Indian food, so let's all be honest: Plan your evening activities accordingly. Proceed with caution if you're strolling the streets of #ManchVegas later. #IYKYK

Consistently good Indian food!…read more I have been to a number of Indian joints in New Hampshire and Taj India is one of the ones that I have been back to multiple times. The staff are friendly, they are quick to take your order, ask if you need additional items, ASK how your meal has been, and offer dessert at the end of the meal. These may be common things expected at a restaurant, but you see this a lot less frequently these days. They are in a great location in downtown Manchester and have plenty of seating. I have have eaten in every time except one time when I had a friend bring me take-out while I was sick with COVID. The meal traveled extremely well and if I was in a bind, I'd certainly opt for take-out again. I have not experienced the lunch buffet, every time I visit, it is after buffet hours. However, I do hope to try it some time soon. I haven't been disappointed by anything lately, the biggest complaint that I had was when a Samosa had a cool core, but I do understand that some food has to be prepared in advance and I'd rather have a cool center than an overcooked exterior.
