    Local New Hampshire brew

One of the best ethnic local restaurants in Manchester. Coming from Queens, I recognize good Nepalese food in NYC. While traveling for work, I read about this place and had to see it for myself. Grabbed myself a plate of momos (a must get!l and their Thali variety rice platters, which give you a little taste of everything Nepalese. I like the mom & pop local vibes this places gives, with their regional decor and music in the background. This place is a Nepalese gem is worth a visit if you happen to be in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Some heads-up would be great... What My friend and I were super excited to try Nepalese food. We ordered a number of appetizers... but was disappointed that the server didn't warn us that the majority of the appetizers were cold... the chicken chwela was cold and high was definitely not expected. Kerau Ko Archar was also cold.. it probably would have been good with some warm hot rice. The wai wai sadeko was the biggest surprise.. I thought it was noodles but it was not at all, it is like noodle crisp (chips) mixed into a salad. We also ordered the mix momo for the intentions to share... with 4 being meat and 4 vegetables and we also did a chili flavor so it was all tossed and turned and so couldn't identify which is which. Also I picked it to be in chili which I didn't know it would be fried and then heavily tossed in a chili sauce, it was very flavorful but I wasn't prepared. Overall I think there could be more appreciation for the food if we were prepared. You've been warned Environment This was in a strip building. Inside there are quite a number of seats available. Niceness of the staff The server was nice but I wish they were more interactive in terms of introducing the food especially if I am new to the foods. Would also have been helpful if they were aware that we were sharing the dish and helped us identify the food. They did they job I suppose by taking the orders and fulfilling it but failed on the introduction. Dollar The appetizers were very reasonable. Yes? Not local to the area. I would prepare and let my friends know about this place but not necessary recommend it.

Decided to order some Indian Food, after not getting some for a while due to various reasons. What a pleasant surprise! Food of this place is amazing . I would definitely return to dine in. It has been a while since I have felt that wow factor and this place has it. Only reason why I am not giving them a 5 star is because I felt that portion wise, it could have been slightly better, especially when the food is so tasty. Otherwise this would be a perfect review.

This place is great! It's a mix of Indian and Nepalese items, which makes the hardest part of visiting here deciding what delicious item to get! There were 4 of us and we each ordered something different and shared around. Everything we picked was delicious. We shared vegetable samosas and goat momo to start. (Both awesome.) I loved my lamb saag, my husband got chicken curry, my brother got baighan bartha, and sister in law ordered the Kathmandu spice thali. We also got a side of garlic naan. We ate until we were stuffed and had the rest for breakfast the next day. I'll be dreaming about that lamb saag for weeks to come. The service was also very friendly and attentive. We were the only people in the restaurant as it was a week before the COVID-19 outbreak really hit, but I imagine it would have been friendly service either way. :)

Delicious Indian food in the area! The presentation of the dishes coming out of the clay ovens is so beautiful, they always come out steaming. I usually get something basic like the butter chicken or tikka masala, medium spicy, and I can say it does make my tongue burn so caution if you're sensitive to spicy. My boyfriend and I love to visit this location for Indian food. The staff is so kind as well.

We've ordered there multiple times over the years and would usually give this place 5 stars....however, we ate there tonight and found two cockroaches on the table. We were planning on taking our leftovers home until we found these. The employees told us not to leave a review on the way out.

I would love to support a Nepali restaurant in NH, so I stopped by. The food was fine, though a bit low on flavor outside of the chili chicken. However, the deal breaker was the cockroach that was chilling on my table by the end of my meal. Nope, nope, nope.

Awesome delicious nepali/Indian food. We had momo, gulab jamun and chowmin. The food was delicious. You should definitely visit the restaurant.

We ate at Katmandu Spice tonight. The service was excellent. The waitress was pleasant and efficient. She was the only one on the floor. There was a steady stream of take out and door dash pick ups and one table of eight and another couple while we were eating. The food was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken chili (Nepalese style). It was flavorful, appealing to the eye, and perfectly spicy. The garlic naan couldn't have tasted better. I so enjoyed the onion chutney side. My partner ordered the vegetarian thali. He enjoyed all of the variety and the mango lassi. The mustard greens and spinach were surprisingly delicious. Unfortunately, the ambiance leaves much room for improvement and the decor needs attention. It was rather cold and dated. With food this good, it was worth overlooking.

The food is amazingly delicious. When it comes to the staff, everybody is so nice friendly, honest, caring, and appreciative. Walking into this restaurant you will notice how friendly everybody is and welcoming. The ambience of this restaurant is also amazing and very up-to-date. I would highly recommend this restaurant because of their authentic Indian cuisine that they have to offer to their customers.

What the salad was advertised to look like and how it came!

I ordered the Kathmandu Grilled Salad based on the description and photo on the website. What I saw and what I received for $10.95 was a RIP OFF! The tandoori chicken did taste good but it was the smallest shriveled up piece of chicken leg I have ever received from a restaurant ! Now on the positive side, the garlic naan was to die for! I would highly recommend it. I will be calling the restaurant as well! Sooo disappointed

My friends and I just happened to go here when our first pick ended up being closed. I can't say how happy I am that the 1st restaurant was closed. The service was great despite the server having a lot of tables for lunch. The food was simply amazing so fresh and flavorful. Things took a bit to come out but I think that's because the quality was A+ (it's really not a long wait & it's so worth it). The momos fried with chili are a MUST try. The spice levels were perfect. It was relaxed and casual atmosphere probably my favorite lunch I've had in a long time. I plan on coming back again and again.

Nothing better on a cold night than a hot naan and some tikka masala. It was delicious. Perfect serving size for one. I got the butter naan and it was pillowy and soft. Perfect. Owner was attentive and quick to get order in to the kitchen. Strongly recommended trying this place for authentic food. I ordered hot tea to finish off the meal before I ventured back out into the cold temps.

They offer a variety of momos, fried rice, chow mein noodles, shapta (Tibetan stir fry), stews, soups, seafood boils, fried seafood, fries, samosas, sandwiches, and mango lassis. The pricing seems pretty fair. They offer in-person ordering, online ordering through Square and DoorDash delivery (higher pricing). There are a few tables near the counter to eat your food. I've stopped by Wow Momo and More a few times already for takeout. I've enjoyed the Seafood Boil Combo ($14.99 plus tax) which had shrimp, mussels, sausage, potatoes, corn, boiled with spicy seasonings and garlic butter. One my last visit, they ran out of corn and gave me some extra mussels. My home smelled like seafood for a couple days. The handmade Steamed Chicken Momos ($9.99 plus tax) with dipping sauce was very good. The Fried Haddock (2 pc) with Fries ($11.99 plus tax) was a good portion that filled up the takeout box which had crispy haddock filets and crispy fries with tartar sauce and ketchup provided. The Chicken Fried Rice ($9.99 plus tax) was freshly prepared with a mix of stir fried rice, shredded veggies, scallions, egg, onions, garlic, and tender chicken pieces, hot sauce provided. The Fried Calamari & Shrimp Combo ($13.99 plus tax) had plenty of small breaded shrimp (cleaned) and breaded calamari (soft chewy rings & tentacles) with tartar sauce provided. Overall, Wow Momo and More offers solid good Tibetan food and seafood at fair prices and quick service if ordering ahead online.

We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 entrees and naan to share, but we each had one item that we favored. I asked if everything can come at the same time. They said yes. Each dish came out one at a time, 15-20 minutes apart. After each dish, I asked if the rest was coming together. They kept saying yes. By the third time, I explained what we wanted again and they again said the rest was coming out together. Nope. I told the waitress that we were disappointed with what was happening and asked if she can bring the final dishes together. She said yes. Nope. My boyfriend got the meal he ordered last, approx. 1.5 hours after we got there. It was luke warm. The food was mediocre (at best). They hardly checked on us, we kept having to ask for drinks. We just wanted to leave and it took a long time to get the check. We were there almost 2 hours in total. The chicken chilli came with sesame seeds on it. I've never seen that before and it wasn't in the listed ingredients. I have an allergy to it, my bad for not declaring it but if they are going to list the ingredients, I wish they listed all of them. I've only tipped service less than 20% in my entire life, even for bad service, on principle. I tipped 15% here and as I walked out, I felt like that was too much. Some of the worst service I've had.

I believe there are 4 Nepalese restaurants in the region and other than this, I've not yet been to one before. There are 2 in Burlington, this one is at Dartmouth College in Hanover and the fourth is in Quebec. What a special experience to visit this Kathmandu-style, Nepalese restaurant. The Base Camp Cafe is in the basement of a Dartmouth campus building. Getting to it is tricky if you need the elevator but go through the Mexican restaurant and down their back hallway to get to it. Everyone reviews the Base Camp Cafe's most famous app: the Mo mo's and with good reason. Our mo mo chicken dumplings were not like the Asian steamed dumplings we are used to. They are so much better! The outside of the dumpling is more like a thick wonton soup noodle with multiple layers. Sooo good! The heart chicken flavor is clean and satisfying. There are notes of cilantro apparent in the center. The golden lentil dal soup, on the other hand, was deflating. It was mainly a broth with tiny bits of lentils and not much else. It was more like eating a curried chicken broth with a lentil paste vs. a hearty soup full of lentils. The red chili curry at spice level 5 is delicious. I chose the veggie curry and it has good heat, not too intense. The tomato flavor in this curry is strong like a sun ripened tomato paste. The veggies in it are delightfully firm and crunchy. The gigantic bowl of stir fry noodles are similar to al dente fettuccine vs. a rice pasta. They have an easy smokey flavor. I requested a side of hot sauce. What an impressive first tasting experience! I can only compare it to if you could taste a crystal lake, it is like this. There is a pure, clear flavor that hits your taste buds first. Like water but condensed. Then the heat builds and builds. And continues to build minutes after. The dark green sauce gracing the top of our rice is also an experience. It's more rich and - again - condensed than any hot Asian green chili sauce I've had. It is at least made of cilantro and avocado, but also a tiny amount of jalapeño with olive oil. Absolutely loved it! I do not know exactly how to write this but there was a bit of a spiritual cleansing here and I'm not talking about digestive. Later in the evening we just felt more relaxed and positive from the high mountain peak dining recipes and exotic wall art. It's as though any lingering negative vibes fled and headed back to the hills. The service at the Base Camp Cafe is earnest, efficient and kind. Requests are met with sincerity and smiles come easily here.

The restaurant was comfy; there was an electric fireplace on the wall which made the room feel homey. We got fried pork momos, which were delicious and juicy. I was interested in trying the C-style, but we had a non-spice eater at the table. I got the pork chili from the appetizer menu and garlic naan for my meal, and my companions got the chow mein and sekuwa. The chow mein looked standard and sekewa was grilled chicken served with puffed rice (looked like rice krispies). Everyone was happy with their meals, but I especially loved mine. There were slices of pork belly in a flavorful sauce with tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. Note that the pork belly still has the skin on it (which I personally love). My only complaint was at medium, the food seemed mild, but I'll be clearer of my spice preferences next time. I would definitely come back specifically for the pork chili!

The dipping sauce was good as well, possibly a mint-like flavor. The pork momos were really good too, with nice crimping on the skin and decent fillings inside. The chicken vindaloo was decent, though I might have liked more specificity to the flavoring of the vindaloo. The potatoes were nicely textured. The chicken bites were a bit large, they could have been chopped up a bit. The gorkhali khasi (a goat curry) was fairly decent with tender nice pieces. The flavoring was oversalted and again could have used a tad more definition. The bone-in aspect was appreciated as it held the flavor of the meat. The bhindi masala (okra) was fairly successful with a solid infusion of flavor into the okra. The dish was overall too oily though and some steps need to be taken to minimize the oil.
