offers many authentic Japanese dishes. Love the Don Katsu (I am sure they make good Eel Don too). Price is reasonable and the waitress is very friendly. Recommended read more

We waited a while to be seated today. They were very busy. We were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar which we did. The hostess offered us a table in 5 minutes but the 5 mins never happened. No one came to us. We finally gave up and walked out. I told the hostess that they were busy and that we might come back. It's just poor handling of customers. read more

Every person that visits from Japan loves this place. They tell me it is a true sushi restaurant! Down to earth small sushi place that focuses on quality instead of glamour!! True treasure in the area. I have been going 10 years now and I have never had bad sushi!!! read more

A step shy from truly authentic but very impressed. The menu has some really nice options. I had the Nagasaki Champon which I haven't eaten in a while and my wife had the Shoryu Ramen. It was good but it wasn't justified by the price, $13 for the champon and 12.50 for the ramen. I have two, maybe three complaints. First, there doesn't seem to be a chef/cook aside from the sushi chef, which leads me to believe the waitresses are cooking the food. Wouldn't bother me that much until you realize that everything is pretty much the same stuff you might buy at a Japanese supermarket, like Toyo Shokuhin, and cooked at a restaurant. Second is the price. I'm not opposed to spending money for good food but 40 bucks for champon, ramen and a slice of green tea cheesecake seems a bit much. The restaurant does feel like a Japanese restaurant from Japan. I've lived there for 6 years so I've had my fair share of authentic. read more

This is by far the best experience I've had in north Carolina. originally from Texas and good sushi is few and far in between. the service was amazing n the server was sweet, helpful, and extremely attentive. the sushi chef was insightful and courteous. We will be back. read more

We went there for noodles the other night and thoroughly enjoyed some authentic Japanese food. My husband lived in Japan and generally refuses to eat Japanese food at the triangle, except for at Kashin. Our noodles were made by the Japanese mother of the owner and were delicious! There are more people speaking Japanese than English, which is always encouraging when you go to ethnic restaurants. A true gem not to be missed! read more

One of my favorite sushi restaurants around town. They don't do bogo deals, but if you want quality sushi, you won't be disappointed there. Quick service, but small place. Go early or you may have to wait for a table. read more

I've been going to this place for many years and I always find it to be a treat and by far the best quality sushi and Japanese cuisine in the area. It's the only place that I'll order sushi a la carte, because it's totally worth the price. Their soups are also delicious as are the Japanese pickles (Oshinko). I look forward to eventually trying the entire menu. read more

I've been living in this area for quite some time and decided to finally checkout this place in hopes of satisfying my sushi craving. Being a vegetarian, they were happy to customize my rolls. It was definitely good, but not the best I've had in the area. I also ordered some Vegetable Tempura which was not what I expected. It may be because I ordered it to go, and may have been a better choice had I dined in. Overall it was a mediocre experience, hence my rating. The non-veg options could be better. I'd be ok with takeout sushi from here from time to time but don't plan on trying anything else. I will mention the customer service was fantastic and the staff was quite friendly! read more

The wait staff is excellent and try to deliver an authentic Japanese dining experience. The pork broth ramen is excellent. This was a great value meal with great taste. read more

My wife and I have been waiting for the table plus food for over an hour and a half, we feel like they are getting the water from mountain Everest and the chicken from Jamaica; in addition, the servers never come and tell us what's going on in the kitchen... what takes so long to prepare and cook!?!?And we order just 2 entrees without appetizers.... All and all, it's just another slow restaurant that serve regular Japanese food read more

This place is not authentic. Too much americanized. Also, I am sure that the owner is not Japanese. If you want to have good and quality Japanese food, don't go there. read more

Today, I ordered the Miso Ramen. First off, it wasn't hot, it was more luke warm. The noodles seemed a little undercooked. The taste of the broth was okay, but I have experienced better. It did barely filled me up, especially for $12.50. I did like the corn and the meat that were in there. I'll be sure to order the sushi next time b/c that seems like a better choice. read more

So good! Food was awesome, staff are accommodating and pleasant. We came in for a birthday dinner and the staff made it work for us even though our group size kept growing! Will definitely be back! read more

Omg, the food here was fabulous. While all the food I had was great there was one thing that took cake, the Beef takiki (doubt I spelled that right) but omg mouth watering. The service was impeccable. Friendly from the moment we walked in. I will be back during lunch, most likely with my son. read more

Kashin is a lovely little traditional-style Japanese restaurant tucked in the heart of Cary Crossroads. It can seem out of place among it's big-box neighbors, and that is a welcome relief. I didn't realize quite how traditional the decor in the restaurant truly is until I visited Japan last year and realized I have a little piece of it so closeby. I'm a big sushi fan, and the rolls from this restaurant are always delicious. I enjoy their special rolls written up on the sushi bar board. I've never met a Kashin roll I didn't like. Go local! read more

Great service, excellent place to grab a quality dinner on a business trip!

Every time I come here, I leave feeling lucky to have such a great restaurant nearby. I keep trying different items, and have been impressed by the food each and every time. When it gets busy wait times to get orders through the kitchen can be a bit long, but it's well worth the wait. Highly recommended. read more

This place is great! It's small but it's mellow. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. This is our go to Japanese restaurant.

We enjoyed this place and would definitely go again. The sushi was very fresh. The staff was so friendly and polite. I definitely recommend trying this place! read more

Kashin - Sushi here was so fresh and tasty!!! - Japanese Near Me - Cary, North Carolina

See all

The sushi is well prepared and fresh. The food is tasty and authentic. The service is friendly and will accommodate you when possible, but it can get slow when they are busy. I come for the sushi most of the time and haven't been disappointed with it. Occasionally I will get edemame or pork cutlet and they have have been tasty. Don't let the location of a strip mall dissuade you from trying this place. It is a good Japanese restaurant with great sushi. read more

Pretty decent tonkatsu and ramen for the area I guess. The ramen broth leaves something to be desired. Not sure if they use instant broth or what not but it seems to be lacking a richness and complexity that's found in legit ramen houses. The noodles were on point with a good amount of bite and chewiness. They weren't over cooked either. Nothing worse than mushy ramen noodles. The tonkatsu Don was standard. No praise and no complaints. Decent Japanese food if you're in Cary. All things considered I'd go back. Service was good as well. read more

Good, not great. Rice needs some work. Very heavy on the sauces. Nice staff and a good looking establishment. You could do worse.

We came here for lunch on a weekday; I think we arrived around 1 pm and it looked like we had beat the busy lunch rush. We got the pork gyoga and two sushi rolls to split between both of us. The gyoga were good but had a lot of excess oil/grease on them. The sushi rolls were fresh, tasty, and HUGE. We had a hard time finishing them and I don't think I've ever been that full after sushi. We got the rainbow roll and the dragon roll. I think the price was good for the portions we received and I'm excited to go back and try their other dishes. read more

This is our go to place for ramen in the area. We love it, and our daughter does too! Best Gyoza around.

Came here last year, around January when I first got here in the area. Slow service but we were told by the fellow yelpers, so no biggies. Food was unremarkable but didn't mind because all it mattered was who you dined with. We have some sushi, ramen, and then som. read more

This is best of the best japanese restaurant in Raleigh ever ! Completely japanese ! I was in Sydney Australia before and there were a lot of japanese restaurants. All of them were running by japanese people and they were all authentic i didnt believe i could find same level as them in Raleigh since i tried almost most of them here but i was wrong because this restaurant has everything i ask for ! read more

My favorite sushi spot in the triangle!!! It's a hidden jem!!!!! The staff kind and friendly... authentic Japanese feel... the only downside since it is a smaller restaurant is to be prepared for a wait if it is busy... food is amazing and worth the wait read more

I has the sunomuno, miso and chirashi. The sunomuno was very good. I miso was good. The chirashi was very pretty and had a nice assortment, but the rice was a bit too sticky. The staff was nice and the ambiance pleasant. I did enjoy my visit and if I am in the area again I will visit again. read more

This is a really small sushi place, so the wait can be a long time. However, the waitresses and sushi chefs are very friendly. I've never been disappointed when I've went. The sushi is really good and reasonably priced. I haven't ordered anything other than sushi from the menu, so I can't comment on that. read more

Miso Ramen was amazing. Will be back. Generous portions. Went for lunch and they have a long lunch menu with a lot of sushi options as well. Would go with what the person making the sushi recommends. read more

I had the Miso Ramen and it was really good. Although I took the food out, I could see that the atmosphere in this restaurant is really nice and they have some real Japanese flair in there. Go for it! read more

This is a wonderful hidden gem! Our meal consisted of an appetizer (pork dumplings), an entree of miso ramen, and we had the machi for dessert, and all of it was terrific! The food came out quickly and was fresh, and the service was great. I highly recommend Kashin. read more

After visiting Japan in 2003, I have really become fond of soba noodles with tempura. I went around to a few Japanese restaurants in the area and I haven't found any place that serves soba with the hot broth... except Kashin. So while other people are ordering sushi, I'm quite content with an order of soba noodles with tempura. :) I've been here only 4 times and I've never noticed it to be loud, so I like the quiet atmosphere too. read more

Sushi is excellent and fresh, maybe the best I've had in the area. I think the quality of ginger served with sushi doesn't get enough attention in reviews, and this place has some awesome ginger. A little pricey for the rolls(seems to be typical for sushi) but worth it in my opinion. Give this place a try! read more

Best sushi and Ramen! I have never been disappointed. Make sure that you call ahead if you have a group. Small and cozy atmosphere!

My girlfriend and I were staying in the area for one night and decided to have sushi for dinner. It opens at 5:30 for dinner and fills up quickly. Very good atmosphere and the sushi is great. We sat at the bar and watched the chef make it right in front of us. Lots of variety and reasonable prices. Will be going again when we're in the area. read more

We really enjoy this place. Gone here twice just for sushi (have not tried their other menu items, although they always look delicious), and although they warned us last time the kitchen was going to take a while, our orders still came out very quickly. The sushi chef here is great at what he does and is also very friendly. Waitresses are very knowledgeable about the menu. All in all, the sushi is exceptional, and we will continue to return here! read more

i'd come here for the sushi but the ramen is questionable. i've had some great ramen in LA and japan. this is nothing in comparison. there was corn kernels in the soup??? strange... this is, however, one of the more authentic japanese restaurants in the area, to my knowledge. sad. read more
