M Sushi is probably one of the best sushi establishments in the Triangle area. They offer a few different Omakase options as well as a la carte services. They are not cheap but the sushi is great quality. We had a reservation and it was fairly busy the night we came. We had gone to a few Omakases before so we're familiar with the process but our server did a great job at explaining everything and explaining the different cuts of fish. We didn't sit at the bar for the full experience but everything else was very good. They also offer a variety of drinks as well. The inside can be a bit crowded during peak dinner times so plan for that. It's a bit dark inside and goes for kind of like a night bar vibe. The bathrooms are nice. Once the Omakase is over you can order a la carte. Definitely one of the best if not best sushi options in the Triangle. They also have a location in Downtown Durham.

I wish I could give them a 4.5 star rating. Rounded up to 5 bc service was immaculate. The server, hostess, and other employees were so gracious and welcoming. The food was okay, I think it was a bit pricey for what it was. The fish was fresh but not as fresh as Shijiri and Akami. The bento seemed a tad overpriced as well, but in general it was pretty high quality. It was a little too dark for my liking. The yuzu mocktail was refreshing and perfect for warm weather.

M Sushi is truly first-class sushi and delivers an experience that feels special from start to finish. I came here for a special occasion and tried my first-ever omakase, and it did not disappoint. The opportunity to try otoro alone made it memorable, rich, buttery, and something I still think about. What stood out most was the pacing and intention. Receiving each course at incremented times allowed you to fully appreciate every piece of fish, and you could tell how much care went into both the selection and presentation. Nothing felt rushed, and every bite had purpose. It's an incredible way to experience sushi, especially if you've never done omakase before. The staff guides you through it, making the experience approachable without losing any of the elegance. If you're looking to treat yourself or celebrate something meaningful, M Sushi is absolutely worth it. An unforgettable introduction to omakase.

We had 8:30pm reservations and were seated promptly. It was cold in the restaurant and the space is tiny, the space wasn't very visually pleasing either...Our server was very sweet! She was funny attentive and so kind. She recommended some unique Sake options, The Pink Lady was my favorite and faintly tasted like rose. For starters I ordered the crudo and edamame, which was delicious. The crudo was EXCELLENT! It came with a matcha foam that was light and fresh. For my main, I ordered the spicy tuna (traditional maki) and the dynamite roll which my friend recommended. I didn't care too much for the dynamite roll. It was too heavy for my taste! I did like the spice.

Came here for a nice dinner after seeing so many great reviews online. Our server was great, the atmosphere was calm and nice, the food came out super quickly. The miso soup was yummy and the edamame was a good serving for the price! The sushi was just okay like it was good but nothing spectacular. We had the chefs nigiri and two maki rolls. I don't think we would come back though - pretty expensive for us students

Pretty good sushi and nice location. Nothing wrong with the sushi per se _ I'm just a bit of a sushi snob. Rice was perfectly cooked but the crispy rice tuna was a bit greasy for my liking. Great miso soup too.

What I recommend: Crispy Tuna Appetizer The omakase at M Sushi in Fenton Cary really impressed me, especially coming in under $100. The fish was high quality, fresh, and well prepared. It's not trying to reinvent anything, but it doesn't need to. It's just really good sushi. If you've had omakase in cities like Chicago, Boston, New York, or abroad, this might not blow you away, but for the Triangle area, it's top notch. The service was phenomenal, the ambiance was great, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Overall, M Sushi is one of the best omakase spots you'll find in Cary or Durham.

This was my first time coming here, and having heard all of the hype from my wife about this place, we decided to pop in for a weekday lunch. Arriving not long after the restaurant opened for the day, we were comfortably able to grab a table. But I noticed the seats began filling up during peak lunchtime and by the time we left, there was a slight wait. I ordered the sushi deluxe lunch combo, which comes with 8 pieces of chef's choice nigiri, alongside a sea trout and avocado roll and miso soup. Every bite was a savory adventure and totally worth the splurge. The service was fantastic and my water was topped off plenty of times throughout the meal. I'd definitely recommend this place for those of you that are looking for a high end sushi restaurant. Five stars all the way!

I've been to M Sushi twice and if you are feeling a little boujee this is the place to go for very good quality sushi. It is on the pricer side but it is worth it.

My friend and I got the lite omakase set and it was pretty good! It was $65 so I cannot really complain, but I think next time I will order the Al La carte menu items instead. Service was great our waitress checked up on us often and timed our nigiri perfectly also made sure we always had water. I loved the interior of the resturant as well. There's a huge lot for the mall you can park at.

One of the celebratory events that we planned for my daughter's graduation from college was to have dinner at M Sushi. My son heard about them on social media and made reservations a couple weeks back. My daughter's graduation was yesterday so our reservation to M sushi was last night. Our original reservations were for 8:00 pm, but due to graduation activity delays, we called in to have the reservation changed to 8:45 pm. We didn't have any complications changing the time. We arrived a bit earlier than expected; however, our table was not yet ready, so we went across the street to another restaurant to have some drinks. We came back at exactly 8:45 pm, but our table was still not ready. We ended up waiting another 15 to 20 minutes before our table was ready. The ambience in this restaurant was nice and had a modernized feel and look. It is not a spacious restaurant. We ordered several things from the menu: Small Plates - Edamame and Scallops; Maki - Truffle Seared Tuna, M Special, Spider Roll, Dynamite Roll, and California Roll; Nigiri - Shime Saba House Cured Japanese Mackerel; Specialty Drinks. No one in our party liked the scallops. They did not taste fresh and did not have the seafood flavor. It was a bit bland and the texture seemed off. It was a little better with the sauce but still nothing that was appealing to anyone at the table. The edamame was good, but needed some sea salt on the top or mixed in consistently as only the ones on the bottom had the flavor of sea salt. The Maki we enjoyed. While they all tasted good, our favorites were the Truffle Seared Tuna, the Dynamite Roll, and the M Special. The Truffle Seared Tuna was unbelievable. It tasted fresh and was the most flavorful of all the other Maki. My ultimate favorite dish of the night was the Nigiri Shime Saba House Cured Japanese Mackerel. This was hands-down the most flavorful and best tasting dish. The texture was perfect, and it almost felt like it melted in your mouth. It was incredibly good. Overall, we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered with the exception of the scallops. The next time I visit this restaurant, I will definitely be getting a double portion of the mackerel nigiri.

This place is a staple for me. I come here often and it's always a solid choice. The sushi is always fresh, the staff is always kind and they know us and acknowledge us when we come in which always just a special touch. The atmosphere is intimate and the decor modern but not pretentious. I highly recommend coming here whenever in Fenton.

Pretty solid sushi spot with nice ambiance & service when we visited for lunch! I came with a party of 5 and we had made a reservation ahead of time so there was no wait, but the restaurant wasn't too busy during lunchtime. Unfortunately, two of the people in our party accidentally went to the Durham location so they had to trek all the way over to this location in Cary which delayed them by quite a bit. Our server was so gracious when we explained what had happened, and we didn't feel rushed throughout our meal at all. We shared the tuna crispy rice and crudo to start and both were tasty. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors for the crudo, though I have had better tuna crispy rice at other establishments. For my main entree, I got their M special roll which came with a sea trout / avocado roll as well as part of their lunch combo. The fish here is definitely fresh and high quality, and I like that their specialty rolls aren't too over the top -- it really lets the ingredients shine! The others ordered a variety of different items ranging from nigiri to other Japanese fare including the gyudon and curry udon. The gyudon was very delicious and while the curry udon was good overall, the flavor was a bit one-dimensional.

The broth had great depth, the spice provided a nice kick, loved all the different toppings but I do think there could have been more pork. - Tonkatsu Ramen (Signature rich pork broth, pork belly, bamboo shoot, wood ear mushroom, green onion, 1/2 seasoned soft-boiled egg, thin straight noodles): Same great broth as the tan tan, chashu was perfectly fatty and tender, liked all the toppings again. For the price, the quantity and quality of everything but maybe the chicken (which was smoky but way too sweet) was lackluster. - Chicken Curry Don (Panko breaded chicken cutlet, Japanese-style curry sauce, potato, carrot, onion, nori): The chicken was crispy, but quantity was so small. Curry was tasty, but inadequately warmed. - Raindrop (Plant-based ice jelly, brown sugar syrup, soybean powder): Such a unique dessert- ofc the visual is great, but the texture was interesting and it was subtly sweet too. Ambiance is nice, but the space is pretty small. Service was fast and friendly. There's plentiful parking. 7.5/10 would recommend!

It may be busier during peak hours, though :) Anyway, I ordered the Screaming "O" sushi roll for myself as well as the ocean trout nigiri, while my wife got the sashimi platter. I guess it's kind of like Japanese tapas so we were supposed to share, but we kind of just ordered our own dishes. They also had a decent beer, wine, and sake selection. The Screaming "O" roll was super tasty! Definitely one of the better sushi rolls I've had in the area. The nigiri wasn't bad but it definitely felt a little overpriced. My wife enjoyed her sashimi and thought the quality of the fish was very good, especially the tuna. We ordered a mix of small plates, sushi, and a main, and honestly there were no misses. The crispy chicken skin was super crunchy and packed with flavor from the larb seasoning. The tortellini dumplings and scallop mousse dishes stood out for how rich and unique they were, especially with the truffle and butter sauce. The X.O. fried rice was smoky and savory with a lot of depth, and the pork & shrimp shumai were juicy with a nice kick from the garlic chili vinaigrette. The special nigiri sampler was very fresh and simple in the best way. The highlight of the night was definitely the miso sea bass, which was incredibly tender and served with a tableside smoke presentation that made it feel extra special. We finished with the matcha basque cheesecake, which was light, not overly sweet, and a perfect way to end the meal. Service was attentive and the pacing of dishes was well done. Overall, this is a great spot if you're looking for high-quality sushi and creative small plates in a stylish setting. I would definitely come back.

She asked where we would feel most comfortable sitting! The restaurant is situated in an adorable little house! There were a few small rooms indoors and two diff outdoor areas! We chose to try indoors to begin with! I had already called in advance cause I have a pretty severe allergy I needed to make sure they could change things and accommodate for! They were more than happy to be able to do so as everything is made per order! My aunt knows I love a good sangria and wherever we go she always inquires immediately if they have it! They didn't BUT Zoe came right back over, asked how I like my sangria and with what type of wine and said they could make me one! Shortly thereafter we had met Han, the manager, what a delightful and respectable manager who knows how to handle any and all situations! We had now decided we would like to sit outside even tho it was very hot out! She said let me get your things and she then said how about this little private room indoors as she wanted us most comfortable! Even tho my puppy is a service animal the only other couple in that room made a stink immediately and I said let's just go sit outside under the fans and on the deck! Han brought everything out asked about drinks as I had decided to cancel mine but on second thought decided I'd have one! She asked if I like it on the sweeter side etc! Not only was it delicious but the waitress upon bringing it over let me know immediately it was on the house! The food wasn't rushed but came in a very nice and timely manner and with beautiful presentations and the taste of everthing from our appetizers to our mains was of the highest quality! Zoe, Han and even the person who poured our water were the nicest as was the other couple sitting on the patio with us!
