Our entire party had an absolute blast and memorable-triple birthday celebration at Kasai last night & that great experience started out with my reservation interaction with Sky. It continued on with fun signature cocktails, delicious dishes to share, and an ambience that was inviting, welcoming, and enabled our party to just have a memorable time. 1. logistics - making reservation was easy with Resy but it got tricky when I needed to make a last minute party size adjustment. Reaching via business phone wasn't viable so I reached out via IG. I didn't think it was going to be answered with the large number of followers but Sky, from Kasai, replied. She accommodated our party size increase within a few days of the date, recommended a splendid menu set up. And was responsive to all my questions. To me -- that was the first sign that our experience was going to be good. 2. Vibe - this was most excellent with the set up, the vinyls, the open bar, the kitchen in the back where you see the chefs and the line working. Absolutely loved the lighting, the ambience, the high ceiling. We walked into the establishment with a "wow!" The booths and tables were cozy but not confined. We were set up in the middle of the restaurant and loved the view to see across the entire space. The noise level was just right to reflect a space that is brimming with energy but also allowed to still talk and hear each other without having to shout! 3. Bathroom -I'm a biggie on this and I like how they have individual bathroom suites. 4. Food - this impressed us! We tried a variety that Sky recommended and we enjoyed every dish. The wagyu skewers, salad, eggplant chips, and many more that she recommended were spot on. It as fun for sharing and made for a fun dinner. 5. Cocktails - I tried 3 different ones and the rest of our party tried others so between the 9 of us, we've tried about 10 different types of cocktails and drinks. There was one I wasn't fond of but that's my own personal taste but all the other signature cocktails, our entire party enjoyed (we shared with each other to try). Each cocktail tasted "refined" and subtle. Really had fun trying the menu. 5. Music -ah! afterall, this is its signature! Sky DJs too and that was super cool. Honestly we had so much fun that I almost didn't notice what was playing because what was playing blended so well with the whole atmosphere and our experience. The music didn't feel out of place and really added to the chill ambience. My only recommendation is to have an easier way to reach the restaurant (e.g email perhaps?) Shout out to Sky for a most excellent first diner experience with a party of 9 for my friends and me. We will definitely be coming back and I will be recommending this place personally to others.

This is an excellent addition to the Hermosa scene. I really like the cool interior and the vibe. The drink selection was good and I liked my cocktails. I think in the future I would prefer to order some of the yakitori skewers since the salad and Crudo were just ok. I would definitely recommend this spot for drinks!

The space a gorgeous! Sound quality is exquisite. Service was great. Food is amazing. I've been several times and there's not a bad item on the menu. Every skewer is cooked and seasoned so well. I need the miso ranch that comes with the fries in my fridge asap. Eggplant was amazing favorite and I don't even like eggplant. Crudo is so fresh and the citrus salsa with it is so flavorful. The Ume cocktail is nice and refreshing. The espresso martini is like a dessert it's so good. They also have Jeni's ice cream by the pint! They literally serve the pint and give you spoons. So fun.

Very Cool spot! Kinda has the divey Tokyo vinyl whisky bar feel. Very different feel from the rest of the neighborhood, great place to come for a date or chill with friends. Been 3 times already, each time with different friends, and they all liked it. First 2 times sat at the bar, great bartenders, most recently came with coworkers and sat at a high top table. Our server was Susie, great personable service! Love the New York steak and fries best, just wish they had ketchup available for the fries (not a mayo fan).

There were three of us, and although we made a reservation ahead of time, we probably did not need one, since the place was not full. We hung out in the booths in front of the windows looking out to the ocean sunset. Really appreciated the comfy padded leather seats for our long chats. We did not feel rushed at all, which is really appreciated. The vibe is very speakasy-ish with leather seats and I thought it would be a great place to throw a party-maybe even a corporate happy hour in the middle couch section, super comfy looking. Felt very classic loungey but also this xennial appreciated Kaskade playing in the background. I am sure sitting at the bar for a chat would be great also. Food was fantastic. We shared three things: Baked Brie, Tomato Salad and Seafood Pasta and enjoyed all three of them very much. Next time I think I want to try the Mud Pie.

The food was quite lackluster across the board, unfortunately, but I would come back for dessert and a drink. Having a reservation seems like a must, as there isn't much seating. Seems like a good place for mid-sized groups of 4-6 people. Price point was a bit on the higher end, especially considering the food we had. I don't think a single dish inspired me to "write home about." Lots of fusion stuff that just didn't hit how it should. Fox and Farrow is connected to another bar with a very different ambiance - more like a sports bar, from what I remember - and they were rowdy while watching a sports game. We ended up hanging over there after our meal.

Frankie helped us get everything set-up prior to the event and was very communicative throughout the whole process. The team was super accomodating and our servers for the night, Chase and Ryan, were on it the whole night! Super attentative and great attitude. The rest of the Vista team were also very helpful throughout the night with empty dishes, additional drink orders or any clean-ups we had, they were super quick! The burger, kalbi and tuna tataki were my personal favorites. So much flavor and big portions! Thanks again to the Vista team!

The not-as-good: Service was just okay. Maybe it was just from working an exceptionally hot day, but it didn't feel like staff really cared to be there. We are South Bay locals, but I'd imagine this place is a huge draw for tourists and the wait staff just seemed annoyed by our presence and waved us off like we were tourists. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and it was our first date night out since having a baby 7 months ago, and no mention of that our entire visit (or no one cared to ask). In terms of food, I'd say the charred watermelon salad was the star of evening. Katsu calamari fries were fine, nothing to write home about, but a nice accompaniment to the salad. We also got the Huli Huli chicken entree to share -- chicken was nice and tender, but the "lettuce cups" were just two large leaves of lettuce and it wasn't very clear how to assemble them (if that was the intention), so we left them alone. But the charred pineapple was my absolute nemesis that evening. The sun had set, and the fire pits at the tables to our left had just been fired up, but it was still pretty hard to see our food. My husband pointed out that the spiky pineapple skin was still on the pineapple, so I avoided that and started cutting around to a smaller piece of the inside of the pineapple with a knife so it could accompany the chicken -- the bottom ended up being SO charred that it was lodged in my throat for about 2-3 minutes, like something was grating against my esophagus Kinda ruined the rest of the meal for me. Suggestions: Candles for the tables when the sun sets so patrons can see what they're eating? Or have wait staff explain the chef's preferred method of consumption? Overall, we'd come back for a happy hour by the beach with a small group of friends with some small plates and people watch during sunset to some live music, but as a special occasion spot, I'd find another spot.

You can tell the chefs are dedicated to the craft. They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5
