I came here with my boys for breakfast after cherry picking down the road in Leona Valley. We asked to sit at the counter which was available. The place was busy with most booths and tables also occupied. My server was Halie. I had my kids order their food (something I'm teaching them so they get comfortable speaking to adults and ordering their food) and Halie was super patient with my shy 9 and 11yos ordering. My 11yo ordered the kid's Mickey pancake meal and my 9yo ordered the Big Boy platter that we shared. The portions were generous and yummy. The bacon was cooked the way we like: crispy with a little chew. The sausage was super yummy. We finished all the food with just a little bit of biscuit and gravy leftover. Not only did Halie help serve us, the other ladies were super helpful getting us extra syrup and butter. Very disappointed! Ordered Steak, eggs home fries. STEAK was Freezer Burned, or left out and smelled. Advised waitress " I'll tell them" was her response! When asked a second time, she then told " herboss" and the response was "he had just purchased steaks yesterday " and now that it was already paid no refund no adjustment! Requested to speak with her boss and his response was I should have said something after the first bite! OMG I tried to give it an opportunity! I'll never return to THIS location. Very disappointing. We enjoy the food and we always go back. Today however, we experienced bad service with the food and how much they charged us. 3 adults, 2 kids and a 1 month old baby went to have breakfast today. My mother order the sir loin steak and eggs, my 7 year old son order the Turkey melt sandwich which I specifically said no jalapeños, pepper Jack cheese or chipotle sauce. I told the waitress (one of the Hispanic ladies, which two of them look like sisters) to switch the cheese to American and just add regular mayonnaise instead of the chipotle-mayo that they use. She wrote it down and my son still had jalapeño in his sandwich. My mother who had ordered the sir loin steak had a wad of hair on the bottom of her eggs. Three eggs come with this plate. We told the waitress and all she said was if my mother wanted another plate. My mom was disgusted by it and said no. She had eaten 2 eggs and almost half of the meat. So she removed the plate and came back and told us she would deduct 20% of her plate that costs $15. On our way out, I asked for a box to take my sons sandwich as it was spicy for him. I saw the waitress wipe the box from the top but didn't think much of it. I open the box to put the food inside it and it's dirty filled with dirt and small hairs. Why would someone think it's okay to do that? So I asked for another one and I told her that one was dirty. She didn't say anything. The total was $97 and some change for 4 plates, 3 juices and 2 coffees. It wasn't adding up so we questioned it. We'll come to find out on the back of the menu in small print it says that when there is a large party they automatically charge 18% gratuity. They counted my 1 month old as a whole person! If that was the case someone should've changed her diaper and fed her instead of me. That's crazy to me. Again, we enjoy the food so we kept going back and never had an issue, until today. Something needs to be done and changed because that's not right. I am not one to leave reviews but todays didn't sit well with me. read more

It's honestly the best tasting breakfast I've had in a while. We had just gotten back to town from a hike and were super hungry so that might have something to do with it, but it was still super tasty. I got the meat lovers breakfast burrito and they had a chili cheese burger with fries. A bunch of places around here have breakfast burritos but they're kind of tasteless. Visiting family in Palmdale and I decided to take them to Karen's Kitchen #2 for breakfast. First, the location is small and needs a makeover. Looked like they had about 7 booths and 4 or 5 tables. It seems they been there for a while which is a good thing but the ceiling tiles were stained yellow probably from previous leaks. Not the most aesthetically pleasing. Waitress greeted us as soon as we walked in and was seated within a couple minutes. Our waitress (I don't think she said her name and I didn't ask) was very nice and polite. Their biscuits and gravy was highly recommended which is what my mom ordered along with hashbrowns. My mom said the biscuit was ok (had better) but the gravy didn't have seasoning, was too thick, and tasted like flour. She ate two spoonfuls, tried to season it with salt and pepper, took another spoonful and couldn't eat anymore. Hashbrowns were fine but there were several black spots. I thought maybe it was burnt but my mom said it was rotten potatoes and ended up trashing it. My cousin ordered a Cobb salad. Unfortunately, the lettuce was brown and wet so she barely ate half. I ordered gritz and requested they come out first. Unsure if the chef was in a hurry to bring the gritz before the food or he was unaware of how to cook gritz. I make gritz at home and been to a couple restaurants that serve gritz. I understand the name is "gritz" but that doesn't mean they are gritty. They are usually white and creamy. Welp, theirs were white with a lot of black specks, raw (taste like a handful of sand), and stunk (see picture). I took a small bite to make sure and I almost threw up from the texture and the rancid smell. I never send food back but there was no way in hell I was having that unprepared putrid cup in front of me. I wouldn't of been able to eat anything else if it stayed on the table. Waitress was nice and said she will let the cook know. Cook decided to make another batch. I overhead the waitress asking him to hurry up and the cook said no, it's not done. After a couple minutes, she returned with some translucent, smooth, creamy gritz (see picture)! Texture was definitely better and taste was a little better but that smell wasn't gone. Maybe it's their pot? I don't know but I definitely wouldn't order it again. I also ordered a waffle with nuts (requested nuts to be in the batter but it was sprinkled on top) and requested the waffle to be golden brown. After being traumatized with their gritz, I was scared to eat anything else. However, once I took a bite into their waffle, my mouth was in waffle heaven. Syrup was warm and didn't taste sugary. It was absolutely delicious! I would return for their waffle but my fam said they won't return. I paid and was leaving a cash tip on the table. But my waitress shift must of been over because she was getting out of their like a bat out of hell. Call her speedy Gonzalez. I'm not chasing anyone to give them their tip but another waitress ran to her car and gave it to her for me. Five stars for their waffle and customer service. But 1 star for their gritz, salad, hashbrowns, and biscuit. Averages to a 3 star rating. read more
