Visited on the first night of Miami Spice, eager to come in after salivating over the menu. The service was great, everyone was nice and helpful. Food was decent. The location is beautiful, great for an intimate night or out with a group. Appetizers: braised short rib dumplings were bland, def. pass on those. Tuna-tar tar 10/10, so delicious with a great spicy kick, lastly the mahi mahi crudo was also a 10/10, flavorful! On to the main course: All the dishes had great presentation but lacked a bit in flavor. Octopus was ok a bit overcooked, the galzed sea bass was overly glazed where I found it hard to enjoy the actual fish and the short rib is def. a hard pass. Last but not least, DESSERT.. I like matcha but this was a bit bc the sponge cake was not drenched in anything for it to resemble the "tres leche" factor, as that's what I was expecting. I could not wait to try this new fresh addition to the Miami scene. The place looks marvelous, very trendy and modern. I loved the decor. We went for drinks and stayed for dinner. We sat at the bar. The service was good, mostly at the beginning. For the second hour, our 2 bartender/server were on the phone or talking with other member of the staff so we had to raise our hand to let them know we needed something. They were very nice and attentive though. After some drinks and snacks we ordered the lamb and they forgot to put it in the system so after about 20 minutes I had to ask about it. The Drink menu seems very attractive and drinks were good. But to be honest when you read the Drink description you would expect some more elaborate flavors. But again drinks are good. Food in general was good , The rib buns were delicious but overloaded on sauce. The lambs were pricey and a little gelatinous. The dessert was an art in presentation and flavor. The dumplings are tasty but average. The salmon and beef robata were very smooth and flavorful and the tuna crudo was delicious. Kaori has some of the BEST drinks in town. Sit at the bar & ask for Pípe. All the drinks are unique & everyone behind the bar is extremely knowledgeable, especially Pípe. Every drink Pípe makes is so good & you can tell how much he cares about his craft and the people sitting at his bar. 12/10 recommend visiting Pípe. The Karajillo is my absolute favorite! Service is terrible. We came for Miami Spice lunch and it took us forever to bring everything. We arrive at 2:30 and it is 4pm and we haven't been able to ask for our check. I enjoyed dinner here. The service was very good and the food was delicious although portions were small. The tempura fish appetizer was a good portion size and not greasy. I enjoyed the dipping sauce. The strip loin they cook on rocks at the table was melt in your mouth delicious but crazy expensive at $34 for one ounce! Fish main course I tried was also tasty! The one thing that was not good were the specialty drinks. I tried 2 different ones the Kaori and another one that had plum in it ( can't remember the name) and they were both equally terrible. While the bartender took great care to make them, they were both sour and bitter and I couldn't even drink the Kaori. They really need to focus more on the actual drink taste over the fancy preparation/ presentation. Also, dining chairs were very uncomfortable, the backs were too far back so you had to sit almost completely reclined back to get any type of back support. All in all it was a good experience although for the $ spent I would pick a few other places over this place. read more

Located next to the chipotle in brickell. Came here for Miami Spice and it did not disappoint. Overall, the food was delicious. The cocktails were great too. I ordered the short rib dumplings and they were good but honestly they weren't that special and the portion side was small. I also ordered a tuna crudo appetizer for the table aside from Miami spice and glad I did because it was so flavorful and worth it. For the main I had the seabass which was probably the best I've ever had. The sweet potato purée was a great pairing. My friend got the octopus which was tender and delicious as well (I stole a bite of course). For dessert, the matcha tres leches was interesting and flavorful, but didn't have a strong matcha taste that I expected based on how green it was. The layers of green had various textures which made the dessert intriguing and keeps you coming back for more! The ambiance was really nice as well. I was super bummed when the appetizer (short rib ravioli) was completely frozen in the middle. That's right- frozen SOLID- I couldn't even cut it with a knife. It took me 10 min to flag down the waiter, only to have them say dismissively sorry and take the plate away before bringing the next courses... no offer to replace it, didn't take it off bill, and didn't even comp my $6 diet coke. I could have made a bigger fuss and seen a manager but was already resigned to never eat here again. The entrees were not great; salmon was bland, the steak stirfry was painfully over-salted to the point of being inedible, and the chicken was greasy and bland. Came here last minute with a friend for her birthday dinner after not having any luck at the Tea Room. We were so impressed by everything!!! Reasonably priced and the food was amazing - portion and taste wise. Our bartenders were great too. Manager was nice as well. Take my advice and don't waste your time and money going. Did not even get to enjoy Miami spice, which was the whole point of going. Went on a date to Kaori Miami which was a huge disappointment. First thing that happen when I arrived the girl in the front tells me no cold food until 7 and that they called people with reservations to advise them of this, I didn't get a call or got left a voicemail, not even a text. Then they sit us down and give us the menu, we ask the waiter for the Miami spice menu, guess what another disappointment no Miami spice menu cause of an issue, which the front forgot to mention. Now I got two option stay or leave, which I already paid 20 for parking and wasted my time coming her and hiring a baby sitter. So I stayed, food was ok. Didn't even try to make it right for us, by offering a discount. Not even the manager cared enough to showed his face to apologize, instead has the waiter do his biding. Place is a joke for the prices they are charging. I'll never visit this establishment even if the food was free. The establishment is a joke and treats its customer as such. read more

An almost unbelievably pathetic customer service experience coupled with sub par food. Ive actually been to this restaurant twice, once when it opened and again last night. Interestingly enough it got worse since originally opening. Without exaggeration every aspect of the experience was lacking, underwhelming and underserved. Price point aside, the organization was nothing short of absolutely pathetic. During our 3 hour meal, I walked around the restaurant 5 times in search of a manager who did not exist. No one was around to help or to take orders for 30 minute increments at a time with zero managerial staff in attendance during the entire dining experience. Meal highlights: 1. Drinks took an hour between orders. 2. Water never refilled. We ordered sparkling and still, during the entire evening, each bottle was refilled once and everyones glasses once. We stayed for 3 hours, no one came around besides upon ordering to refill. Those that drank tap got 0 refills. 3. Our entrees were served 1 hour apart from each other with the final entree dish coming over 2 hours after the 1st, all were ordered at the same time. 4. One guest ordered a wine refill, after an hour she was served a partial glass that we were told was free but they charged us for anyway. 5. No tables that were vacated were ever cleaned. 6. We ordered appetizers and entrees, service was never changed, including all silverware and plates a single time during an entire 3 hour meal. 7. Our table was never cleaned. 8. No wait staff ever tended the table other than the waitress who was overworked and barely looked over once every 30 minutes to attempt to recall or correct the numerous missing items or forgot orders. 9. Dishes were not served together, at the requested temperatures or on time. All and all I can honestly say that Kaori went from great potential to one of the most pathetic attempts at a high end dining experience i can imagine. This review doesn't touch on at least half of the issues on an over thousand dollar meal. Owners, chef and staff should all be ashamed and disgraced. read more

Extremely overpriced. More expensive than every single Michelin 1-star restaurant in New York that offers a la carte dining. $55 for sea bass at Kaori? When turbot at Marea is $55 and lobster or halibut at Wallse is $45? And the quality of the food at Kaori is in no way comparable. Compared to Central Park S and West Village, rents in Brickell are dirt cheap, and I'm sure wages are lower as well. There is no reasonable conclusion other than that the owners are greedy. To management - I recommend a $10 price cut on all items for your offerings to even remotely begin to offer value, but you wouldn't ever need to listen to me, since there will always be enough suckers in Brickell. read more

A good one time hitter! The food isn't incredible tasting or overly priced but it is beautifully designed and presented. I would give 3 starts for food 5 for service and decor. My fav menu items was the mushrooms and French fries. The tuna was good as well - very nicely presented. Wasn't a big fan of the mango kale salad- had raisins which I don't like and very sweet. Also the hamachi was bland in flavor but fresh fish. The drinks are very good - loved the Shisio pepper salt rim- and mixtures. Would come back for happy hour as it's a good happy hour spot.
