Sometime theee best restaurants are the ones that are small and unassuming. When you walk in, it is so clean and quaint. The ladies here are so sweet and down to earth. Wonderful experience. The menu is full of authentic entrees to choose from. My current repeat order is the Vegan Ramen bowl. I love it because it is so easy on the stomach, so flavorful and the brussel sprouts are grilled. I can't handle heavy food these days and it hits every time!! It is a broth that's not clear but rather "miso" looking and just warms my soul. Heard the Ramen here was good so decided to give it a shot. There are many options to choose from including chicken, pork, and seafood. There is even rice dishes. Started with tempura Brussel sprouts and a bottle of hot sake. The Brussel sprouts were really good. The soy sauce with was a good dipper but add the spicy sauce in the table to it and it kicked it up a notch. Ordered spicy shrimp Ramen and added spicy bean sprouts. The broth was very good and there was a good amount of shrimp. I would've liked more herbs in it and for it to be more spicy but enjoyed it nonetheless. The service here was really good. This was our first time here! Employees were so nice and helpful! Our waiter helped us find things that are popular and that we would like. All of the food was delicious! We ended up ordering a second order of the crab puff appetizer! The dipping sauce for it sort of tasted like peaches? I think I've heard that called duck sauce before. I am excited they opened a location here in Collierville. I had completely forgotten about the one in Memphis so I went in blind. I asked the waitress what she recommended from the tonkotsu section as I've liked that best in past experiences. She suggested the Black as customers say it's the most flavorful. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to have much flavor for me. I asked for chili oil and they had some at the table but to be honest that didn't seem to do much for me. I tried the steak from my friends goyu and it was really full of flavor so maybe I'll try that one next time. Or the cilantro chicken one. Great local ramen spot in town. Parked next to UPS and Vice Nail Salon is a little gem with noodles and rice and everything nice. They have great happy hour specials everyday 3-6pm and kickass green tea. I've had the chicken cilantro noodle bowl, miso ramen, black tonkatsu, and kami ramen bowls with pork. All were very, very good. I liked getting the cilantro lime bowl with pork but love the citrus broth. We have also had garlic edamame, pot stickers, seaweed salad and rice bowls --I don't recall which one... but we haven't had a meal at Kami that wasn't satisfying and delicious. I haven't tried so much on the menu but plan to as it all looks good. I've heard the octopus balls are LEGIT here but haven't had a hankering for them yet. So check it out, it's worth a slot in the ole Poplar lineup. Is it the absolute best ramen I've ever had, no. Is it the best in Collierville TN- absolutely. Stopped in for lunch take out. I had been wanting to try this place but hadn't gotten around to it. I was unfamiliar with the menu so I asked for suggestions from the employee helping at the register. I settled on the Kami Chicken. She told me it would be 5-7 minutes. My food arrived in about 4-5 minutes. The broth was packaged separately from the bowl of chicken, spinach, green onions and fried onions. Once home, I poured the broth into the bowl and it was still boiling hot. The food was delicious! I did have to add a crazy amount of salt but other than that, the food was awesome! Love Kami Ramen Bar! We always get their ramen and kimchi, decided to try the crab wontons this time and they were good but not great. They lacked a lot of flavor in my opinion. Not much crab and a lot of cream cheese, which would've been fine but the main flavor was cream cheese. I'd like to see some other flavors in there because the amount of filling was perfect and the wonton wrapper was great! I got the spicy beef rib ramen and it was very good! I got mine without the dried chilis but I'm not sure if they would've made a huge difference in the spice level. I got the mild spice level and it wasn't spicy to me, which is good in my opinion! The veggies in this one are super fresh. I added fresh garlic to my ramen (highly recommend, but just know it's more like the ready to go pre-minced garlic, not really fresh like the menu says). I would've liked some real fresh garlic but they give you a big scoop so it was still good. If you're new to ramen, the Tonkatsu Black is always fantastic as well! The kimchi is always good and I'd highly recommend it. We get it on the side because it tends to get lost in the ramen if it's not on the side. Plus, I prefer to control my spice levels a bit and adding a big scoop of kimchi can sometimes make my ramen too spicy. The kimchi has different spice levels depending on the day, we've been a few times and each time it's been fantastic but the spice level varies. The service at this location is always very quick and efficient. The servers take your order and go, they don't check on you much during the meal unless they see you need something, which is preferred in my opinion! The style of the restaurant is so nice and almost makes you forget you're in Collierville, TN. Not many places like this is Collierville but I'm sure glad they're here! Perfect place to go when it's cold outside, you want an easy dinner or you want a quick lunch! We've been here multiple times already but will always return.
