Decided to treat myself for a lunch date and thought of my favorite spots that I haven't visit in awhile. Went as soon as they opened up and was the only one sitting while others were ordering for pickup. I sat by the window inside but it does have a nice shaded outdoor patio area. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. She even answered my question about the Hattoek. As I was finishing my meal, she put my noodles on the to-go container since it can be tricky. I ordered the Fried Mandus, medium curry ramen (sub chicken for extra beef) & Hattoek. It's just as I remembered it. The curry sauce was yummy and the beef paired perfectly. Next time, I'll get extra veggies with it too. 1st time trying Hattoek and it was nice. The ice cream was a little nutty and donuts filled with warm cinnamon. We stopped into The Crazy Noodle on a weekday and was quickly seated. Our waitress was fun, friendly, and had lots of great suggestions. We both decided on the ramen after hearing about it and were very glad that we did. The meal was delicious! We both went with mild spicy and that was just the right amount of flavorful without it being too much. I am not a spicy person though! Tried a new one! This is my first time here so I went with the recommended CURRY RAMEN with the egg boiled instead of mixed in. I also got to try the FRIEND MANDUS with the HOUSE SOY SAUCE. The soy sauce was such a winner that I asked for more just to put in my ramen and I took some home! The ramen was packed out and pretty good but I did have to season it up a little to my liking (hence the soy sauce). Server was really sweet, she was new but still very attentive, but I've been going here for YEARS yall. do not waste your time going here. it's cheap prices but you literally get cheap quality. this is stuff you genuinely can make at home. Their ramen is literally top ramen instant packs with chicken bouillon cubes and maybe some seasonings...& their appetizers are always greasy. Mandu's aren't really even mandus. Their jjangmeon is greasy as well and not even authentic to its real taste. I gave it 3 more tries before I realized yeah..this place has gone downhill terribly. I didn't like one of my dishes and i specifically told them what I didn't like about it and they still charged me because the chef said "I made it correctly" and I was very disappointed because a kimchi soup should NEVER taste tomatoe-y EVER. I looked back in the kitchen and saw white folks in the kitchen and knew yeah, no. this establishment has no soul or care. There are better Korean options here in Memphis, after some time this place has lost all its care and soul. The Crazy Noodle is a must stop whenever we are in town. It has such a good variety of dishes that are a very good price for how much you get. The only downside is the food takes a little bit longer than most places so be prepared for a little longer wait but it's worth it!! The Mandu ramen is my go to but I've never gotten anything I'm unhappy with on the menu! Definitely the best ramen in Memphis! read more

This was my first time having Korean food, and it did not disappoint! I tried an array of items, from the friend mandus to the curry ramen to the beef bulgogi. The food comes out quickly and is fresh and hot, and the service is efficient. If you want to enjoy the patio, I recommend going in the spring or fall as there are not fans. I ordered online at 5:31PM and was told my order would be ready at 6:48PM. I got to the restaurant at 6:50PM and my food was done at 7:15PM. So, it took almost 2 hours for a pancake and a japchae. I understand restaurants are sometimes busy and understaffed. In this situation, they were not busy, but definitely understaffed. Only 1 guy takes order, serves, and packs. I saw 3 people in the kitchen. However, the fact that it took approx. 2 hours to finish an order of 2 items is ridiculous. The pancake was good. Nonetheless, the japchae is $12.99 originally with no protein. Added $3 for beef or other kinds of meat. Total of $15.99 before tax and I can barely find beef in the box, unfortunately. This was where I stopped by after a meeting with my buyer and before my flight back home. I was with my boss, and we were seated by a female server with ponytail. She had us waited for 15-20mins with no water, nothing. She was talking to another table the whole time, about some miscellaneous things. We couldn't waste our time anymore, so when that server went back to the cashier to use the POS, I went to her and said we'd like to place an order. Guess what happened? She started yelling at me that I had to wait more patiently and that I ruined everything. She even cussed. It almost seemed like she was mentally ill that she couldn't control her emotions. I mean what is it to be so upset? The one that had been waiting so long with patience was myself. The old Korean lady whom I assumed to be the owner of the place didn't care and kept cooking in the kitchen while this was happening. We just didn't deal with her anymore and left the restaurant. Also, this place is just cooking the same ramen you can buy from supermaket You buy it, simply cook it, toss some dumplings or kimchi in it, Boom! It's the same ramen this place has. The food is great but I will admit that it takes quite a while to get an order after placing it. Each time I've been quoted 35-40 min and it's taken longer than that. I'd give this place a 3/5 on food and a 4/5 for atmosphere and service. My server was an absolute angel and was super sweet and attentive! The environment threw me off a little bit though--might be a personal quirk, but the decor is a bit chaotic and it was sort of late so the overhead light at my table hurt my eyes a little bit. In terms of the food, it was solidly mid, hit or miss for me. I ordered tteokbokki which was a 5/5 spice level on their menu, but honestly not really spicy and they had 2 dumplings in there that had a really strong fridge taste? It was really overwhelming, the rice cakes and broth flavor helped get the taste out of my mouth but it wasn't what I was expecting for the price. I also ordered the fried pancakes and ice cream, that was pretty solid. All in all, it's a fun experience if you're bringing friends and need a bite to eat. People there are friendly. Bi Bim Ramen is my fave & it's soooo yummy! I like medium heat; spicy is good too. This place is very causal nothing too fancy but the perfect spot to get some tasty food. I ordered the fried mandus, handmade vegetable dumplings and the vegetable ramen with no tofu and no bean sprouts. The menu specifically reads vegetable dumplings. I bit into the dumplings and a white substance was all through out the dumpling. I assumed it was cauliflower because the menu reads vegetable dumplings. The texture was weird, so I asked the server what exactly was in the dumplings to be sure. He says tofu. I responded ok, I don't eat tofu. The menu does not say that there is tofu in these dumplings. The menu says vegetable dumplings, tofu isn't a vegetable. The server very kindly asked me if I wanted to send them back. I said yes. He went to go speak to another lady, I could hear her in a raised voice going back and forth with the server, ultimately telling him that I could not send the dumplings back. The server came back and very apologetically explained that I couldn't send the dumplings back. I assured him that there was no need to apologize. It wasn't his fault. I said the lady is very loud, I heard her telling you that I couldn't send them back. I stated, but I do want you to understand that the menu says vegetable dumplings. It doesn't say tofu and vegetable dumplings. I have the seven dollars, I can pay for the dumplings, but this is incorrect information and false advertising. I said, this isn't my opinion, this isn't what I think, or believe, it is a factual statement that the menu says vegetable dumplings and these are in fact tofu dumplings. I stated that I would be leaving a review and not returning to the restaurant. I paid, tipped the server well and left. I do not recommend dining here because the menu is not an accurate depiction of what is actually in the dishes and they do not take accountability for the false information on their menus. read more

Delicious and wonderful service! Crazy Noodle soup comes with wheat noodles but can be made with rice noodles upon request. (They are cooked alongside wheat noodles, so not for people with celiac, but I really enjoyed this and had no problem as a person with a wheat allergy.) The service was a tad slow but overall it was very nice and the noodles were delicious! I wish I could leave 4.5 stars because enjoying an evening out wasn't all that bad (we were just hungry). I had the mild seasoning and it's okay for those that don't care for spicy and I'll probably ask if I can get it without any "spice" next time. This place does such a fun/interesting twist on traditional ramen. If memory serves, this is a Korean style ramen rather than the more well-known Japanese ramen. Regardless, the food here is absolutely amazing, especially on cold/rainy days. The service is good as well. The food is consistently spectacular, but I must admit that the venue itself is very, very small. I am visiting from out of town and found the service charge added to my bill was odd and then also calculated to the total outside of the tip. Service charge just seems unnecessary.
