The food was actually very good, fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would gladly order it again. The quality of the food is the main reason I am taking the time to leave this feedback. My one concern is the restaurant's use of plastic containers for hot food, especially containers that appear to be reused multiple times. Repeated washing, heating, and everyday wear can cause many types of plastic to break down over time. As plastic ages, it can develop tiny cracks, become brittle, and potentially release microscopic plastic particles into food. Scientific studies have shown that heat can increase the migration of chemicals and microplastic particles from certain plastics into food and beverages. While the amount can vary depending on the type of plastic and temperature involved, serving very hot food in older, repeatedly used plastic containers may not be the healthiest option for customers. Beyond the potential health concerns, reused plastic containers can retain stains, odors, and bacteria if they are not properly sanitized. Because the food is so good, I would encourage the restaurant to consider using higher-quality heat-safe containers or more environmentally friendly alternatives. Doing so would better reflect the quality of the food being served and demonstrate a stronger commitment to customer health and safety. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would recommend it. I simply hope the restaurant considers upgrading its food containers, as that was the only aspect of my experience that raised concern. read more

I ordered noodles with roast pork. I picked my food up, went home, and they noodles did not have any pork at all. I had to drive all the way back and I told the guy at the counter. He opened it and picked through my food with a chopstick close to his face looking for any pork, almost as if I took it all out and was trying to fool him. Then he is very awkward about it and says no problem let me make you a brand new one. So he takes the to go container back to another person, and I watch them dump the noodles to cook again and simply add pork, then put it back in the same to go container. Asian Star is a great local spot for a quick bite of Asian cuisine. Their service is quick from order to finished dishes. I never have to wait longer than 10 minutes for food. It's a "order at the counter" style restaurant but offer convenient seating if you want to dine in! DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE BELITTLED AND CALLED STUPID My fiancée and I get our food here often. We never have problems, food is good, and service time is reasonable. However, being regulars of TWO YEARS, today I am certain we will NOT be coming back to this establishment. We decided to get takeout for Valentines Day. We use DoorDash when we order, as it varies on if we pick it up or deliver. Now mind you we come here often. We have been for TWO years. We accidentally ordered from the location in Bartlett. Which is our fault, of course, and we should have been more mindful on double checking where we were ordering, but considering how we frequent this establishment often we didn't think much of it. Now my fiancée went inside to get our order and instead of just telling us we have the wrong location, the person at the front decided to belittle my fiancée, call him DUMB (yes, DUMB, those were his EXACT WORDS) and then proceed to say in a clipped tone that it was the wrong location. It was incredibly uncalled for and extremely rude. Sure we screwed up, but to call him DUMB was wrong and uncalled for. You have lost customers who have been here for two years. Tonight we ordered from Asian Star for the first time. First thing, forget that bad one star review below. For a restaurant that just opened the whole thing is great. My wife called and hung up because she called to early to order for us, they called us back to see if they could help us! That is amazing. We placed our order and it was ready in the time estimated. I've been 4 times since they opened. They seem to have ironed out the kinks, and I'd give them 4 stars now. Have had General Tso's chicken Dragon and Phoenix Mei Fun with a combination of meats Szechuan shrimp Szechuan beef Mongolian beef Got white rice and fried rice. Ordered egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Hot and sour soup. Overall, they seem to be aiming their spicing levels towards the mildest of pallets. I've wanted all of the "spicy" dishes I've ordered from there to be spicier, and I'm not one for spicy hot food. I just like it to have medium heat, and nothing has yet, even when I've asked specifically for "medium" level spiciness. The Mei Fun is delicious and it's nice to have an option with rice noodles instead of lo mein noodles or rice. I will get the Dragon and Phoenix again. It's a perfect combination. Wontons were just eh. Not much flavor and I'll probably skip them in the future. Egg rolls were left out on one trip. On the next, they were literally dripping with oil. The last two times they were quite good. The shrimp egg rolls are tasty. Hot and sour soup is one I don't recommend unless they've tweaked their recipe. The one time I got it, it was watered down and had no heat or depth of flavor at all to it. Might have been the first order out of the day's pot and the flavors hadn't intensified yet. It's a no for my family. We ordered 3 different dinner items, all were salty. The rice wasn't fluffy. When we got home(to Arlington)the pancakes that were supposed to be included weren't in our order, had to go back & get them. I had high hopes after reading the reviews. Fairly new to this area... I'll start with everything I think was great: the timeframe when placing your order - no long wait time. The place looked very clean - that's always a plus. The things that weren't so great: I spent over $70 and the food was bland and as my husband described it "everything just seemed wet"... items that were listed as spicy were just bland and no flavor. Kinda disappointing. I was hoping that we would love it and this would be our new go-to spot. There are plenty of leftovers today, so I will attempt to add some flavor and make it work. My wife called in a large order. When I picked it up, the owner was cursing someone on the phone and pointed at the bags. I was charged $55.14 and left with two bags. When I got home, we noticed that we had the wrong order. Called the restaurant and was accused of stealing the order. They charged me DOUBLE ($122) the signed amout AFTER THE FACT for the loss.
