I ordered to go and picked it up! Everything was hot and fresh. Friendly customer service and they will do their best to repeat your order. The fried rice and pepper steak were so good. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy and still hot by the time I got home. Probably one of the best fast Chinese places in this area. I'm glad I gave this place another chance. They are under new ownership. It used to be Mulan, but now it's Zi Jing for six years! That's how long I stayed away. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try! Really love this place. Just right up the road from my house. Our go to is the general tso's chicken, egg rolls, pot stickers, and the chicken fried rice. The tso's chicken is always a great filler. Great taste and flavor (could use some more heat). The egg rolls are always my go to when ordering Chinese. It was good flavor, but could use more crunch. The pot stickers were okay. the meat needed more salt and the sauce wasn't doing it for me. The chicken fried rice was where it's at! Definitely my favorite dish here. It appears I'm on a quest to find good Chinese food that has all the foods I like in one place. So far I've been to like 3 places and each have 1-2 items that I would purchase again, but never all the items. I like fried rice without peas and carrots, I just don't think peas and carrots belong in fried rice and looks like that is common practice. I like wontons but the dough has been super thick, and this place has thick dough as well as well as peas and carrots in the rice, but it was a more flavorful rice than a place tried not long ago. The lady taking my order was nice, order correct and hot, for the most part it was a decent meal. I did like the egg roll and I have wonton soup to try for tomorrow. The sweet and sour chicken is the first dish I get because if you mess up that idk if I want to order any other items. The chicken had a very crunchy coating and no pineapples or peppers with the dish Any suggestions about good Chinese places in the Bartlett area would be appreciated. Average food at best. The only reason to order from this place is because they are one of the few places that delivers in 38135 that isn't pizza. The ingredients are not the freshest when it comes to the vegetables. The meats are ok and the sauces taste as flavorless as any thing out of a can from your local grocery store. Not to mention they are way overpriced. Every order is about $25-30 to feed two. If I had another delivery option I would probably seize it. That being said they do deliver very quickly and the delivery guys are very nice. If this place would use better ingredients and less bland sauces, they would easily gain a few more stars. read more

The hot and sour soup is the best from any of the delivery restaurants that I've had in the last couple years. They were also very quick from my phone call until delivery. Absolutely, positively, hands down the best Chinese in Bartlett. Throw in the fact that delivery is $1.00, and that it took 14 minutes from the time I got my email order confirmation to the time our food was delivered! It was as if they finished cooking it on the way over. J/K about that part, because the food was packed impeccably in the sack, stacked where nothing would spill. Average at best. We ordered for pick up on a Sunday night. We usually pick up from another local chinese food place, but they are not open on Sunday. Mulan is in our neighborhood so it was fast & easy. I called in our order & it was ready for pick up in 10 minutes. We ordered cream cheese wontons, shrimp fried rice, & mushu beef. The wontons were extremely thick, chewy & mostly all wonton wrapper. The mushu beef: the beef was sparse & container was full of mostly onions & cabbage, about a 20/80 ratio. The beef that was there was fairly chewy although a couple pieces were tender. The shrimp fried rice was average. It did not contain a lot of shrimp. If te prices were cheaper, it wouldn't be so bad. Mulans been here for quite some time, and i feel like nobody appreciates it or just orders incorrectly. First off their General Tso's Chicken is the best in Memphis. Believe me, I've tried everywhere else. Not to mention the noodles and rice are top tier you can even see them make it while you wait. Though it's more of a carry out restaurant there's two booths that could maybe fit four each. Moreover Mulan has a nice aroma, Great food, and seriously one of the cutest Chinese girl I've ever seen. So I've been coming here for years. I knew everyone that worked here. Recently, they've obtained new owners. They boast that it's the same food, that is incorrect. It's the same menu, not the same food. That's why this review has a 2 star review. I'm hoping the current owner will read this and try to make changes to make it back to the old way and get with the old owners and see what the current owner one can do. The golden sesame chicken taste different but acceptable. The sweet and sour sauce looked like it was a week old. It had the color of a cloudy pink/red, instead of the bright vibrant red color sweet and sour sauce is supposed to look. The biggest/worst part is the rice. The rice was AWFUL. I can't even call it rice, it was mush. It wasn't good looking or tasting. I'm not sure what corners were cut to make an extra profit but it reflects in the food. I'm giving this review an extra star out of courtesy for the previous owners. I don't think I'll be coming back, unfortunately; because this used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. read more
